Almighty Sweet Queen is Really Rich!

Chapter 1386: Cheapskate

Chapter 1386: Cheapskate

Feng Yi? Ning Yan had never heard of this person, but with that surname and her attitude just now, she was probably quite close to the Feng Family’s Seventh Young Master. However, this didn’t have much to do with him.

Ning Yan rubbed his shoulder where she’d bumped into him, then turned to leave.

The back of his collar was caught in an instant; the girl’s deliberately coy voice was extra sweet: "Uncle Ning, take me out first before you say anything, and I’m really cold."

Fourteen-year-old Ning Yan was about the same height as Feng Yi; his clothes fit her perfectly.

The girl looked even older than him, yet she was this clingy.

Ning Yan frowned, wanting to shake her off, but Feng Yi clutched the hem of his clothes in a death grip, looking up at him pitifully. So spoiled!

The two of them stalemated for a while. With no other choice, Ning Yan darkened his face, tugged down the zipper of his white jacket, took it off and handed it to her, saying coldly, "I’ll take you out."

Ning Yan walked to the research institute entrance and murmured a few words to the security guards; only then did they efficiently let them through.

"You can—" Before the last word was out, Ning Yan turned his head toward the girl and his voice cut off. His face grew even darker. "What are you doing?!"

Startled, Feng Yi hurriedly zipped the jacket up, then said angrily, "I just... just smelled it, what are you snapping for? You never snapped at me before."

Ning Yan was so angry the tips of his ears turned red without him realizing, his dark eyes wide.

Just smelled it?

A girl casually sniffing a boy’s clothes? Lending her the jacket at all was already more than enough!

The almost 1.7-meter-tall girl stood slim and straight, wearing a flowing summer dress with a simple, patternless white jacket over it, a bit of her ankle showing. No matter how you looked at it, the outfit seemed weird.

"It still reeks of the laboratory’s disinfectant, you know. If it wasn’t cold I wouldn’t bother wearing it. Tch, stingy." Feng Yi grumbled, then immediately dashed out of the research institute.

Outside the institute there were shuttle cars for pick-up and drop-off, specifically for the researchers inside or their family members, and they were free.

Feng Yi got on like she knew the drill, reported an address to the driver uncle, and then, under Ning Yan’s icy gaze, rode off in style.

She had really come at the wrong time. Aside from the necessary medicine in her backpack, she had brought none of her seasonal clothes, nor any of the cash, cards, or checks from eighteen years ago—she had just suddenly slipped out from that crack in time and space.

Fortunately, she still remembered exactly where the villa her parents once lived in was, otherwise she wouldn’t even know where to start looking for them.

Life was rough.

Anxious, Feng Yi urged the driver uncle, "Uncle, can you go a bit faster?"

If she arrived any later, there was a very good chance her own parents would directly have her aborted.

"Got it!"

Su Li sat in the warm car, her hand absentmindedly patting Feng Huaijin’s leg as she asked in a muffled voice, "We’re going to stay a few days at the mountain villa, you’re not coming?"

Feng Huaijin looked at her small hand and reminded her, "Su Li, you’re going for three days, not moving there for the whole winter."

But then, remembering she was pregnant, he patiently explained, "Ao Shi Group’s work keeps me busy, and I still have to track down Feng Huaimu and bring Xu Haohao back. I can’t stay with you at the mountain villa the whole time."

Su Li knew Feng Huaijin was telling the truth, and traced circles on his arm with her finger in sulky silence.

Feng Huaijin held out for quite a while before finally conceding, "Fine, I’ll go stay at the mountain villa with you tonight."

A look of triumphant delight surfaced on Su Li’s long-pale face.
