Chapter 65: Show Them who The Real Boss Is

Andrea stood tall in front of Kelly, her voice unwavering as she declared, "The man I will marry is Valentine Anderson, your friend."

Kelly's eyes widened in disbelief, a frown creasing his face as he struggled to find the right words. "Mrs. Singers, I—" he began, but Andrea interrupted him sharply.

"You don't need to explain. Just be there," she said firmly before he could finish.

With determination, Andrea gathered the wedding gown, rose to her feet, and swiftly exited without a backward glance.

As she reached for the door of her car, her phone began to ring. Frowning, she answered the call. "Ma'am Andrea, you must come to Val. Corp immediately. Some board members have convened, and they are discussing ending the merger between Singers Group and Val. Corp."

Andrea's expression darkened with fury upon hearing the news from the caller. Valentine Anderson had just been the victim of a bomb attack, yet the board members had the audacity to convene a meeting for their own selfish motives.

"Thank you. I'll handle this," Andrea tersely replied before abruptly ending the call. Without hesitation, she swiftly made her way to Val. Corp. Although she could have easily delegated this task to her secretary, the gravity of the situation demanded her personal attention.

Upon arriving at Val. Corp, Andrea stepped out of her car and marched towards the building. However, her path was soon blocked by two security guards following Mr. Hick's orders.

"Ma'am Andrea, please understand, we can't let you in. Please don't make this harder for us," the chief security officer implored, clearly uncomfortable with the situation. He didn't want to be the one standing in her way, but Mr. Hick's threats of termination loomed over him.

"And as your superior, you have the audacity to obstruct me?" Andrea's voice held a steely edge as she advanced towards them, her anger escalating at being impeded by two security guards.

"I-I-" the security officer stuttered, beads of sweat forming on his brow as he realized that Valentine Anderson had already signed the merger of the two companies, making Andrea the rightful boss of Val. Corp.

Without exacerbating the situation, Andrea confidently strode towards the boardroom.

As her figure receded, the two security officers exhaled in relief, surprised by the unexpected strength and authority displayed by their typically gentle CEO's wife.

Unaware of the security officers' thoughts, Andrea entered the boardroom, prompting all eyes to turn towards her as the room fell silent.

"Why are you here?" Mr. Hick's face twisted into a frown, his demeanor hostile.

While he hadn't anticipated the security officers preventing Andrea from joining the meeting, he certainly hadn't expected their ineffectiveness in detaining her even briefly to stall for time.

"This is my company. Where else would you expect me to be when a crucial meeting about the company's future is being held? Should the CEO of the company be absent in such a critical gathering?" Andrea countered, her tone composed and refined as she addressed the incensed Mr. Hicks.

Undeterred, Andrea continued her advance towards the chairman's seat, settling into it gracefully before casting a composed gaze over the faces of the board members.

The vein on Mr. Hicks' forehead throbbed visibly as Andrea confidently strode towards the chairman's seat upon entering the boardroom. While he desired to claim that prestigious seat for himself, the fear of public backlash held him back.

"That seat is reserved for the chairman! Stand up!" Mr. Hicks bellowed furiously, pounding the table with his fist. His simple rationale dictated that if he couldn't sit there, neither should Andrea.

A look of confusion crossed Andrea's face as she countered, "I believed that this company now belongs to me."

Mr. Hicks struggled to find his words. Despite his reluctance to accept Andrea as the company's new owner, the necessary legal documents and public announcements had been made. The purpose of this meeting was to find a way to nullify the agreements signed by Valentine Anderson, who was now deceased, with the support of Benita.

Clearing his throat with a somber tone, Mr. Hick accused Andrea, "Andrea, did you murder Valentine Anderson to seize control of the company? You knew he would never consent to merge Val. Corp with Singer's Group once he regained his senses."

Unable to persuade Andrea with logic, Mr. Hick resorted to attempting to repulse her. The board members' eyes shifted towards Andrea, suspicion etched on their faces.

However, Andrea remained serene, her composure betraying none of the agitation one might expect from someone who had just been gravely accused. Her tranquility was so profound that Mr. Hick began to feel unnerved.

Having led Singer's Group for the past five years, Andrea was no stranger to the cutthroat tactics of corporate slander.

"I co-founded Val. Corp with my husband, and back then, you didn't even recognize its potential. My absence over the past five years doesn't negate my ownership. Valentine Anderson had promised to bequeath the entire company to me, including the likes of you as a dowry..." Andrea paused, her gaze piercing through Mr. Hick. She had tailored the end of her statement to provoke him, and as anticipated, he erupted, "Outrageous!"

Rising to her feet, Andrea's presence filled the room. "Singer's Group is valued at three trillion dollars, and Val. Corp at half a trillion. Do you really believe I'd commit murder for a fraction of what I already possess?"

Mr. Hick froze, overcome with fear. His accusations were meant to unsettle Andrea, yet he didn't believe them himself.

"As a gesture of goodwill on the eve of my wedding, I'll overlook this incident. I expect to see all of you there tomorrow," Andrea declared, then turned towards the door. The board members exchanged bewildered glances, murmuring among themselves.

Pausing at the threshold, Andrea delivered her final blow, "Valentine Anderson is still alive."
