Chapter 94 Rescue
Chapter 94 Rescue
Who are you?
Inosuke's hoarse voice broke the deathly silence of the forest. He propped himself up on the ground and stared intently at the man in front of him wearing a different colored haori.
Giyu Tomioka did not turn around; his gaze remained fixed on the spider demon in front of him, Indigo, his tone indifferent yet carrying a reassuring power.
"It's amazing you've held on this long. Don't worry, you won't die!"
The spider demon stared at its severed arm, black blood gushing out, its scarlet eyes filled with terror, yet it still managed a fierce roar.
Its remaining arm suddenly grew several times its original size, sweeping towards Giyu Tomioka with a powerful gust of wind, determined to smash the person in front of it into a pulp.
Inosuke's eyes widened, and he instinctively shouted.
"Watch out! This guy's arms are ridiculously hard!"
But Giyu Tomioka acted even faster than his warning.
Without moving an inch, he gently spun the Nichirin Blade in his hand, and azure water light instantly enveloped the blade, as if the air around him had turned into flowing water.
"Water Breathing - Third Form - Flowing Dance".
As soon as he finished speaking, the blade flashed and surged like waves, incredibly fast yet with a gentle, flowing quality.
That seemingly light and airy blade shadow actually struck first, precisely slicing through the spider demon's swollen arm.
Then it swung upwards, aiming directly at its neck.
puff-
A soft sound, like a sharp blade slicing through thin paper.
The spider demon's movements suddenly froze, a thin line of blood appeared on its neck, and then black blood gushed out.
It looked down at its own body in disbelief. Its huge head slowly rolled down and hit the ground with a dull thud. Its body turned to ashes a few seconds later and disappeared into the wind.
The whole process took only a moment.
Inosuke sat there with his mouth agape, completely stunned, forgetting even to breathe.
He stared at the dissipating ashes, then at the blood-dripping Nichirin Blade in Giyu Tomioka's hand, his heart pounding wildly.
[So fast...so strong! Who is this guy? That last strike was even sharper than a wild beast's claws!]
He had previously thought that his ability to fight the Spider Demon for a long time was already quite impressive.
But in front of Giyu Tomioka, his supposedly impressive fighting prowess seemed utterly laughable.
"Hey! You bastard!"
Inosuke snapped out of his daze, braced himself against the ground, and stood up, ignoring the excruciating pain in his body, and shouted at Giyu Tomioka.
"You're strong! I challenge you to a match! If I beat you, I'll be the strongest!"
Yoshiyuki Tomioka turned and glanced at him, a barely perceptible hint of speechlessness flashing in his indigo eyes.
He frowned slightly as he looked at Inosuke, who was covered in injuries but still trying to be brave, and ignored his challenge.
Instead, they tore off a vine from the side.
Inosuke was still yelling, "Hey! Didn't you hear me! It's a match! I won't lose!"
The next second, Giyu Tomioka's swift movements interrupted his taunts.
The vines coiled around Inosuke like serpents, binding him securely to the large tree beside him with just the right amount of force, preventing him from breaking free or further damaging his wounds.
"You're so badly injured, just wait for rescue."
Yoshiyuki Tomioka's tone remained indifferent as he finished speaking and turned away.
Without lingering, they walked into the depths of the mountains and forests, disappearing into the dense woods in an instant.
"Hey! Let go of me! You coward!"
Inosuke struggled desperately, but he couldn't break free from the vines' hold. He could only watch helplessly as Giyu Tomioka's figure disappeared, howling in anger.
"Once I untie this, I'm going to beat you to a pulp!"
On the other side, on the other side of Spider Mountain, amidst the broken walls and ruins, a faint smell of toxins permeated the air.
Zenitsu lay weakly on the cold ground, with the sloping wooden planks of the house hanging overhead. Moonlight streamed through the gaps, casting dappled shadows on his face.
He could clearly feel the spider demon's toxins slowly consuming his body, and excruciating pain shot through his limbs and bones. His right hand visibly withered and shrank.
"Grandpa, I'm sorry..."
Zenitsu's voice was as faint as a mosquito's buzz, and his empty eyes stared at the wooden plank above his head.
"I might... be unable to meet your expectations."
His consciousness gradually blurred, his body grew heavier and heavier, and fear overwhelmed him like a tidal wave.
"Grandpa, I'm so scared... I feel so useless..."
He muttered to himself, his lips cracked and bleeding.
The pain from the spreading poison made him curl up, but the image of Nezuko involuntarily appeared in his mind, along with her resolute expression as she wielded her sword and the gentle look in her eyes when she occasionally glanced at Tanjiro.
"Nezuko..." Zenitsu's lips twitched into a bitter smile, his voice growing softer and softer, "I so wanted to see you in the last moments of my life..."
"You're so strong, you should be able to survive..."
He seemed to be convincing himself, or perhaps praying.
"Yes, you'll definitely survive. You have an older brother, Tanjiro will protect you... He will, he definitely will... Nezuko..."
His vision began to blur, and everything in front of him became indistinct, except for the figure of Midouzi, which became clearer and clearer.
"I really want... I really want to marry you..."
As soon as he finished speaking, Zenitsu's voice became almost inaudible, his eyelids felt as heavy as if they were filled with lead, and he slowly closed them, even his breathing became weak.
Just then, a burst of urgent bird calls broke the silence.
Zenitsu struggled to open one eye and saw a tiny sparrow fluttering its wings and landing next to his cheek.
Chutaro rubbed his face anxiously, letting out urgent chirps.
Behind Chutaro, a pink figure landed lightly, like countless butterflies fluttering and dancing.
"Chirp...Taro!"
Zenitsu's voice was barely audible. He looked at Chutaro, then at the butterfly-like figure, his eyes filled with confusion.
"Who...did you bring?!"
The figure slowly walked up to him, squatted down, and revealed a gentle, smiling face, with the butterfly hair ornament at her temples swaying gently.
She heard Zenitsu's murmur, tilted her head, and spoke in a voice as gentle as a spring breeze across a lake.
"Moses! Moses!"
Zenitsu's consciousness was still in a state of confusion, and he was muttering unconsciously.
"Nie beans..."
Upon hearing this, Shinobu's eyes flashed with curiosity. She reached out and gently brushed the dust off Zenitsu's cheek, her smile still gentle, but with a touch of playfulness as she asked:
"Nee-douzi? Who's that? Is she cute?"
Shinobu saw Zenitsu open his mouth as if to answer but unable to make a sound, and knew that the blond boy was about to give up.
He then exaggeratedly covered his mouth with his hand, his eyes filled with laughter, and muttered to himself as he took out a small porcelain bottle from his bosom.
"Oops! Looks like I asked at the wrong time! You've been poisoned. Do you want me to cure you? Hmm... looks like I do!"
