My Super Sassy Dad: Stop Running Away, Mrs. Quinn!

Chapter 702: Infighting Within

Chapter 702: Infighting Within

"Has he really gone abroad?""Yes, yes."

For three consecutive days, Jared Quinn would reply to Melody Thorne’s messages, but each time after a long delay.

Dock.

Three men in ordinary clothing stood among the crowd, watching batches of cargo being unloaded from the ship. The man leading them held a cat in his arms. After searching for days, they finally identified the person behind it, a man whose psyche was twisted to extremes.

"Everything is set. We’ll act the day after tomorrow," Leon Rivers spoke.

Jared Quinn responded indifferently, his dark eyes focused intently.

...

Three days later.

Melody Thorne stared at her phone. Jared Quinn’s messages had stopped since last night, and she just discovered that Leon Rivers and Harold Chapman’s phones had been turned off, without her knowing when it happened.

"What’s wrong?" Howard Seymour asked, putting down a financial newspaper.

"Dad, do you know where Jared Quinn went? He hasn’t replied to my message since last night, and Leon Rivers and Harold Chapman’s phones are off. I’m afraid something might have happened to them."

Howard Seymour raised an eyebrow indifferently, "I’ll have someone investigate. Don’t worry, with Jared Quinn’s abilities, there aren’t many who could harm him."

"But," Melody Thorne was still anxious.

Suddenly, the television broadcasted a news report: a massive explosion had occurred at the dock, destroying countless weapons transported by the Monroe Gang, causing numerous casualties.

Melody Thorne stared at the screen, recalling that in her previous life, among those transporting gang weapons was a person Jared Quinn sought—a skilled pharmacologist. In the past life, Jared Quinn almost lost his life for this person.

"Knock, knock," the hotel room door was knocked.

Melody Thorne opened the door, and a small figure rushed into her arms, "Melody, I missed you."

The butler followed, with Timmy behind.

"Madam, the young master missed you and insisted on coming to see you."

"I missed Timmy too," Melody Thorne welcomed the little one in.

Upon seeing Howard Seymour and Sila, Timmy immediately became obedient, even his typically cold face turning docile, "Hello, Grandpa and Grandma."

The butler had said he needed to learn to be good here, to learn to please others.

Howard Seymour and Sila already knew about Timmy’s situation, knew he was their daughter’s biological son. They smiled as they saw Timmy, "Come here, let Grandma hold you."

"Okay."

"Dad, Mom, I’m going out for a bit," Melody Thorne opened the door and left, taking a taxi to the dock.

The area was already cordoned off, no entry allowed. Melody Thorne saw the azure sea stained with blood, nearly turning the entire surface red.

A call came in on her phone from Dr. Mo, "Madam, Leon Rivers and Harold Chapman are seriously injured. Could you come to the hospital?"

Hospital.

Melody Thorne saw Leon Rivers and the others, her face immediately turning cold, "Leon Rivers, where did you all go? Why are you injured? Where is Jared Quinn? Where is he?"

Leon Rivers’ and Harold Chapman’s faces bore complex expressions, unable to hide it under the circumstances.

"Our people discovered that the person behind the pharmaceuticals is the gang leader. Fortunately, there was infighting within the gang. Quinn and I went undercover in the gang, supporting a faction in the gang’s power struggle. We had an agreement that the pharma person would be ours. But unexpectedly, he reneged, infighting occurred, and Quinn, Harold, and I were separated. We haven’t received any news on Quinn yet."
