My Alpha's Mark

31 Pigs

31 Pigs

Kacie

He wasn’t home yet. My heart fluttered with a fear that took root in my chest and controlled my actions. This seemed like a really really bad idea, but my curiosity was stronger than worry. I needed to know. I needed to see.

I pushed Clara’s door open and peered in. Her living room was empty and dark, but there was a light that was streaming in from somewhere else, somewhere I’d have to walk to.

A woman cried out, “Yes! Harder! Oh Goddess, yes!”

Dread settled in me as I followed the voice. I had heard it before. I knew that voice. The light was spilling out of an open door. I stopped in front of it, hesitating. I could still turn around and pretend I didn’t hear anything. If I stop now, I wouldn’t see anything either.

Another moan drifted out of the room, and I peeked inside. Heat rushed up my face, then seemed to drain out of my body completely. Clara was on her knees and her face was pressed against the bed while Viktor fucked her from behind.

The slaps of his body hitting her ass filled the silence, only occasionally disrupted by his hand smacking her begging for more and his grunts. I could see but my vision wasn’t seeing as clearly.

It was almost as if there were a cloak over my eyes and I couldn’t see things normally. I squinted and I saw my mate’s eyes were closed as his fingers dug into her hips where he gripped her. His hips rammed into her over and over again.

Clara looked into the mirror across from her and her eyes meet my eyes. I felt sick as a triumphant smile spread across her face. I think I’m going to be sick. I felt like a cold bucket of water had splashed across my face and I needed to get out of there. I didn’t want to see anymore, I didn’t want to watch him, I didn’t want to hear what his excuses were. I needed to get away.

I whirled around and ran. I needed to get away. Just away. The moment I stepped outside I ran and ran until I couldn’t feel the tears drip down my face. I ran until my feet hurt and I ran until the cold breeze made its way into my heart.

When I was far enough away, I grabbed my phone and dialed Jamie’s number.

“Kacie?”

“I caught him.”

“What do you mean?” She asked.

“I caught him in bed with Clara.” The images were pressing against my skull. I felt this gnawing sensation in my in the back of my head like I was missing something but what I was saw was evidence enough. I wasn’t going to second guess what I had seen.

“Holy fuck!”

“Yeah.” I didn’t know where I was as I sat down on the cold grass.

“Are you fucking kidding me?”

I began by telling her what I saw.

“He’s supposed to go on a date with her to get to know her not blow her brains out!” She yells and I flinch as the images flood my mind.

“Where are you now?” Jamie asked.

“Somewhere. I don’t even know. In a forest somewhere.”

“Kacie….,” she trailed off. “Please be careful. It isn’t safe to be out alone.” “I will,” I promised her.

“Are you crying?” She asked.

I didn’t reply. I wasn’t sure anymore.

“Well don’t. Not when you’re alone in the middle of Goddess knows where. Not when I’m not there to help! I prayed to the Goddess that you’d have a better life after leaving that dreadful place,” she murmured.

Silence.

“Have you slept with him yet?” She asked.

I feel the warm tears run down my cheeks.

My silence is enough of an answer and she hisses.

“Has he marked you?” She continues.

“No,” I whisper.

“Men are all pigs,” she says adamantly. “Even my alpha,” she sighs.

“I can’t forget the way she looked at me when she stared at me through the mirror. She knew she won… knew it would break me.”

“That’s what she wants Kacie, you are Viktor’s future Luna and you shouldn’t have to see that.”

I sigh.

“I hope he has erectile dysfunction and can’t get it up,” she says. I felt like shit but I burst out in a fit of laughter.

“Don’t let him get away with it Kace. I need you to fight back,” she tells me.

I bite my lip to muffle a sob.

“You fight back and show him that you’re not some weak woman. You hear me?”

“I hear you,” I whisper.

“Thanks, Jamie.”

We say our goodbyes and I spend the rest of the night running home. When I get home I cry myself to sleep.

I’ll just cry tonight. After tonight I won’t cry again. I won’t.

The bed dips and warmth envelopes me as arms squeeze around me tightly. I was all cried out, my eyes puffy, my cheeks tear-stained.

“Where have you been?” He murmurs as he pulls me into his embrace.

I shudder and calm myself before answering.

“I wasn’t cheating on you if that’s what you’re worried about.”

He stills. “Where is this coming from?”

“Where were you?” I throw his question back at him.

“Are you insinuating that I would do that to you?” He asks. He has the nerve to sound angry.

“You’re not going to answer the question?” I ask.

“You already know who I was with today. Do you want to go through the pain of knowing where we went and what we did?”

I want the truth. I do. I really do but I want him to tell me. Tears try to well up and I will them to go away.

“We went to breakfast and tried to talk. We tried to…. get to know each other. Like you said,” Viktor says.

“Why are you back so late?” I ask.

“I had to meet up with Jake after the date. We’ve got a meeting tomorrow with a neighboring pack and we had to go over a few things.

Liar.

The silence grew and grew until it filled the room. Suddenly he was on top of me, my arms pinned above my head. At this moment my heart was the most terrifying thing. My heart pounded in my chest, pushed against my rib cage as I lay beneath him.

“Goddess, Kacie,” he said as he rolled off of me. “Why are you looking at me like that?” He asked, clearly frustrated.

I lowered my arms and turned away from him. “Today, you fucked another woman. Please don’t expect me to be completely sane after I caught you two.”

He reeled around and had an incredulous look on his face. “What the fuck are you talking about?!”
