Chapter 555 Gathering
The weekend arrived quickly, and Loila stood somewhat awkwardly in front of the newly bought ordinary mirror in the office, carefully examining herself.
This mirror was bought specifically for the party. There was originally a mirror in the office, but Loila had taken it to use as a magic array prop.
But in the end—the mirror doesn't seem to be of much use to me—Loila thought. I just wear the same clothes over and over again—thankfully I'm a wizard, otherwise the clothes would definitely smell bad.
"That's great." Miss Nagini seemed very motivated as she carefully combed and styled Loira's hair again and again.
"Perhaps pigtails suit you better?"
Miss Nagini's mutterings made Loila shudder: "Maybe—maybe we should just forget about it!"
Twin ponytails are a child's hairstyle. I'm not that age anymore; I'm a mature adult.
"I'll definitely take you to buy some more clothes after a while," Nagini said, sounding just like Loila's mother. "It's not good to always wear this outfit."
"But—but this outfit was a gift from a friend—" Loila whispered.
"Then I'll give you a set of clothes too, since I'm your friend after all, right?" Nagini's casual remark piqued Loila's curiosity.
Does Miss Nagini even have money?
Thinking about it carefully, Miss Nagini never seemed to have shown any sign of being short of money—and I had never given Miss Nagini any money.
Where did Miss Nagini get the money? Was it some shady method?
Nagini had no idea that Loila was starting to worry about being arrested by the Ministry of Magic; she was just focused on doing Loila's hair.
Finally, after what seemed like the umpteenth time, Nagini nodded in satisfaction: "That feels good!"
"Perfect!" she said, winking gently. "You're going to charm all those students!"
I'm a professor, Miss Nagini! Professors don't do this kind of thing!
"But I won't be going with you," Nagini said, shrugging. "I have some things to do."
"And—" she paused, "this is your private party, you know."
Where is the private property?
Everyone from the Pinecone Party is supposed to attend! Miss Nagini, if you don't go, won't I only have Luna as a friend there?
Luna doesn't seem to be going yet.
However, no matter what, it seemed that Loila had no reason to convince Miss Nagini, so after tidying herself up, Loila set off alone on her way to Hogsmeade.
The gathering was once again held at the three broomsticks of Hogsmeade, but this time it was at noon, not in the evening.
It must be because of the accident that happened at the last gathering, right?
Nothing happened along the way. Apart from the occasional encounter with a few students and Hogwarts professors, nothing else occurred. Loila arrived at Hogsmeade safely on her own.
She really deserves a little red flower.
However, when she reached the door of the three brooms, Luo Yili was still a little nervous.
I can't afford to embarrass myself when I meet so many students this time. In addition, I have practiced with Miss Nagini to prepare for possible conversations or speaking occasions.
Loila glanced down at the cheat sheet in her hand and reviewed the keywords on it again.
"Professor Hamilton?"
"Ugh!"
Loila, who was looking at her cheat sheet, was startled by the sudden greeting, and her hand trembled, causing the cheat sheet to fall to the ground.
The person who greeted them happened to see it.
"Is this yours, Professor Hamilton?" Edward Parkinson asked with a shrug, picking up the cheat sheet as he spoke.
"Ah—no—it's not mine," Loila said hurriedly, blushing. "I just—I just picked it up—"
"Indeed," Parkinson nodded and said, "This word doesn't look like a professor's."
2
"Could it be one of the students?" he said casually, reading aloud: "The first handshake—don't let your hand shake—"
"And then—when you speak, remember to keep your head up and chest out—"
"The key word is magic circle, and the goal is to learn."
"No—stop reading it!" Loila wanted to kowtow to Mr. Parkinson. Why did it have to be Mr. Parkinson, the most talkative person, who picked up the note?!
"Are you embarrassed too, Professor Hamilton?" Parkinson laughed upon hearing this. "I feel embarrassed too, I wonder which student it is."
As he spoke, he casually crumpled the cheat sheet into a ball and threw it into the trash can.
"But—why is Professor Hamilton standing here instead of going in?" Parkinson casually changed the subject. "I remember today wasn't a Pinecone Party gathering, was it?"
"Ah—of course I'm here for the party too."
"I came because my sister wrote to me saying that Professor Hamilton had something to talk to me about. Isn't that a surprise?"
""
"But what surprised me even more was the day of the trial. I thought I was the only one on Professor Hamilton's side, but there were so many—which made me feel useless."
Ah—I was overthinking it by worrying about Mr. Parkinson's feelings after hearing he was fired—he's exactly the same as before.
Looking at Mr. Parkinson, who was talking to himself, Loila pursed her lips and looked around awkwardly at the people who were looking at her because of Mr. Parkinson's words.
"Um—um, shall we go in first?" Loila pursed her lips and whispered a reminder.
"Ah—yes, yes, yes." Parkinson nodded as if he had just come to his senses. "I had forgotten about the party."
You just mentioned that!
"Oh, right, Professor Hamilton, there's something else I need to tell you," Parkinson said as he walked up the stairs. "I'm a member of the Order of the Phoenix now."
"Clatter".
Loila lost her footing and missed a step on the stairs. She quickly grabbed the handrail to avoid falling.
Even so, she was still shocked that Mr. Parkinson had become a member of the Order of the Phoenix.
No, Dumbledore—the Order of the Phoenix already has Hagrid, do we need Mr. Parkinson now?
Are you really not prepared to consider maintaining confidentiality?
And Mr. Parkinson—wasn't he just dismissed by the Ministry of Magic? You're doing this on purpose, aren't you?
Loila looked at the enthusiastic Mr. Parkinson, pursed her lips, and for a moment didn't know what to say.
Congratulations!
Ultimately, this was the only answer she could come up with.
