From Gamma to Luna

Chapter 18

Chapter 18

Erika's POV

I didn’t check it until I came back to the house after the training at night.

It was ten o’clock when I came back. Derek hadn’t come back. When we parted after having lunch together, he kissed me on my forehead and told me that he would come back very late tonight. He was busy with the alliance thing and Blood Day.

I went into the bedroom and checked the message.

"I’m going to the Blood Moon Pack next Wednesday to discuss the alliance thing. Do you need something? I can bring it to you ."

I could tell how Orsen sympathized with me. Did he think that I was so miserable that I had to rely on him to get things? Derek had a reputation for being cruel and savage. But that was just a rumor and he was quite different. I could understand it. It would be safer for a fighter to be feared by everyone.

I stared at the message while thinking about other things. Orsen could come to the Blood Moon Pack and bring me things that would be hard to get in this pack.

During these days in the pack, I found that wolfsbane was hard to get in this pack, while in the Fly Rock Pack, it was readily accessible. Suddenly, I came up with an escape plan. If I could find out when the big party would be held and get wolfsbane from Orsen, I might have a chance to get out of this place.

"Thank you. I can’t think of anything for now," I replied to him, wishing that he could get my meaning. I didn’t know if I could give him full trust. After all, he had a chance to talk with Derek directly.

"OK. Tell me if you think of anything you need. I just want to help you and I won’t tell anyone else." He replied after ten minutes.

"Thank you. I will." I replied and deleted the conversation.

The next morning, I woke up alone. Derek had already gone to work. I looked at my palms. The pink skin almost replaced the burnt skin. The injuries on my body were almost healed. I raised my hands under my nose and sniffed at it. It was the smell of the ointment. My hands had almost recovered.

I got up, ate my breakfast, wore my gloves, and went out of the house. However, before I put my hand on the handle, the door had already opened. A man walked in. It was Carl. He and Gerald were punished and prisoned because of my escape. So I was guilty facing them.

Hi, Carl. I waved my hands at him and greeted him through mind-link.

"Where do you want to go? Do you want to escape again?" He looked alarmed, went in, and closed the door.

What are you talking about? I am the Luna now and I won’t escape. By the way, have you got out of the prison? I asked through mind-link.

"Yes, my wife had just given birth to a baby and I was released."

Wow, congratulations. Is it a girl or a boy?

"It’s a baby girl. She is so adorable. I love her so much!" He said with a big smile and looked like the happiest father in the world.

Wow, good for you. Carl, I’m going out now. Can we talk about it later? I am going to be late.

"You are going out without any guard?" He looked very shocked.

Yes. I don’t need one. I don’t need any protection and I won’t escape. I shrugged.

"Does Alpha Derek agree with that?" He asked in disbelief.

Of course, he knows it.

"I’ll ask Alpha myself." He said as he took out his phone.

Save that. He’s very busy now. And I’m really going to be late. I’m not escaping. I was growing impatient.

"I’m sorry. I can’t believe in you easily." He said as he blocked the door and checked his phone.

"Wait, a meeting is going to be held to discuss the issues about … you." He looked up at me. "What did you do?"

What? I asked in curiosity.

He showed me the phone. It was an announcement.

"We have received ten anonymous complaints from the pack members about Luna teaching a girl to fight and about whether women should be allowed to learn fighting. These issues deserve our attention. Thus, a meeting will be held to discuss the issues at three o’clock the day after tomorrow in the meeting room. A vote is to be held among the pack leaders and the representatives of the members."

He looked up at me in shock. "Really? Do you really teach a girl to fight? I don’t know what to say. You always do things that are not allowed."

So you are going to vote against me, right? I asked him.

"I’m sorry, yes." He shrugged.

My heart sank.

Carl, let me ask you a question. Will you stop your daughter if she wants to learn to fight? If she grows up and finds that she likes it and she’s good at it. I looked him in the eye and asked through mind-link.

He lowered his head and didn’t say anything. After about a minute, he walked out without turning around.

I didn't go out after he left. Angel also heard about the meeting and said that she could practice by herself.

I sat on the sofa, thinking about what I should do. Did Derek know it?

Suddenly, the handle of the door was twisted.
