CHAPTER SIXTY-FIVE

LUNA'S POV

Words cannot begin to describe the way I feel about myself right now.

I'm nothing but a loser.

Just within the twinkle of an eye, I lost my baby and the love of my life and in a few days time, he's going to get married to someone else.

This is worse than nemesis.

No matter how much I try, it doesn't seem to me like I will ever be able to get over them. The thought of loosing Ace to Sophia stabs my heart every time I think of it.

How I wish things could be different.

I lost the son, it's so unfair that I have to lose the father too. I wish I could just snap my finger and everything turns out the way I want them to be.

I just want to be with Ace.

A knock on the door snaps me out of my thoughts and I go to open it.

The moment I see Alora, I fly on her body and we both engage in a very warm sisterly hug.

She has been the major source of my strength all this while.

"Alora"

"How are you doing today?" She asks as we both go to sit in my queen sized bed.

"I'm doing just well"

"What about your medicines? Have you taken them?"

"Mum made sure I did"

"Good"

"You won't imagine what mum did"

"What did she do?" She asks curiously.

"Can you imagine that mum went over to Asher's office and asked him to marry me?"

"Oh..." She exclaims calmly, in shock "Now that's scary"

"Isn't it?"

"So, what did she say was his response?"

"Mum said he spoke in parables" I say and we both burst into laughter. "Asher being Asher replied her in parables"

"Asher will never cease to amuse me"

"No, not Asher, mum will never cease to amuse me, why would she even do a thing like that? That's outrageous!"

"Because she loves you and she wants what's best for you"

"I know right? But going to ask Asher to marry me was going to far already, Asher knows what he wants"

"We all know that Asher wants you"

"I don't think he does anymore" I say sadly.

"Why do you say so?"

"Because... because he hasn't even tried to make a move on me all this while. I thought he would, you know, try to ask me out after I ended things with Ace, but he hasn't. He must have moved on" I explain sadly.

"Oh Luna, that's not true. Asher still loves you very much"

"That doesn't mean he wants to be with me, he has moved on, hasn't he?"

"Um, I won't say moved on, Luna, he wants what's best for you"

"Well, tell him that avoiding me is not what's best for me. I miss him!"

"Why don't you just call him and tell him yourself?"

"I want you to convey the message for me"

"Yes, her Royal highness"

"You're crazy"

"Luna" She calls as she holds both my hands.

"Hmm?"

"Just give it a little more time okay? Everything will fall in place and you are going to have that happy life you crave for"

"A happy life with Ace?" I ask with a raised brow.

"Even that is not possible. You never know"

"Then that'll be a miracle"

"Who knows, maybe that miracle is on the way" She says and I look at her carefully.

"Now you are beginning to talk in parables like Asher. What are you driving at?" I ask curious and she shakes her head and smiles.

"Mum must be done with fruit salad, let's go eat" She changes the topic.

"Sure" We both scurry down from my bed and exit my room.

I don't know why, but I feel like she's hiding something from me.

I just hope it's not something that will cause me another heartache when it is revealed.

SOPHIA'S POV

Victory tastes so good!

I can't believe I have finally won this battle.

Come Saturday, I will officially be Mrs. Damon. I will be the wife of the wealthiest and the most influential youth in my country.

This has always been my ultimate goal and I'm about to accomplish it.

I feel like I'm going to die of excitement right now.

"So, you have finally won," Seven announces as he walks into the living room with a glass of orange juice and give to me. I hastily gulp it down in one go and when I'm done, I place the glass on the table and look at Seven who has a bewildered expression.

"The hell!"

"More please"

"I'm just going to get the entire jar of orange juice for you"

"You are the best!" I shout after him as he storms out of the living room. When I wasn't pregnant, I used to hate orange juice. Just the sight of it could ruin my day, but now that I'm pregnant, I feel like I will die if I don't drink it everyday.

"There you go" Seven says as he puts the jar of juice on the table and. I hastily serve myself more juice and drink.

Yummy!

"You normally hate orange juice" He points out.

"Not anymore"

"Ace must like it very much"

"Ace hates orange juice"

"So how come the baby is making you like something neither you nor Ace like?" He asks and I quietly put the glass on the table and look at him. "Why are you looking at me like that?"

"There's something you need to know"

"I'm all ears"

"Ace is not the father of the child I'm carrying"

"He asks in a hushed voice. "How is that even possible?"

"Before that Viagra incident, I had one night stand with a stranger at the underground parking lot at Dicky's Inn."

"The hell!"

"Yeah"

"Do you know the person?"

"No" I say shaking my head "It was totally dark in there, I didn't see his face"

"Oh my God, Sophia, do you know how messed up things would get if Ace finds out about this?"

"He's going to call off the wedding, he's going to hate me for eternity that's why he can't know. I just couldn't keep it to myself"

"Oh Sophia, only God knows what will happen if he finds out" Seven laments.

"He's not going to find out. He already believes it's his"

"Let's only hope that it stays that way. What prompted you to have a one night stand with a stranger?"

"Ace caused it okay? He sent me out of his house just so he could be with Luna, I was upset and I needed to calm my nerves down. I went over to Dicky's Inn, had a few shots and got drunk. That's when I mistook the guys Maserati for mine. When I got in, one thing let to another and viola! Here I am, pregnant"

"Serves him right!"

"In a way" I say shrugging"

"You met him in a Maserati, that means he's rich"

"I could smell wealth all over him, even his number plate was licensed"

"Sophia, very few people in this city have licensed car plates. You can use that information to find him"

"For what exactly?"

"Won't you like to know who the real father of your child is?"

"I don't want to Know, Ace is the only father of this child. Period!"

"Cool, if you say so"

"I say so"

"So, what time is your appointment with the Doctor?"

"At noon. Ace promised to meet me there"

"You are making progress"

"I know right?" I sip more juice from the glass and let out a sinister chuckle.

No one can stop me from becoming Mrs. Damon!

ASHER'S POV

"Asher, do you know the implications of what you are asking me to do?"

"I know"

"Do you know I could lose my license as a medical doctor if I am caught doing this?"

"That's not going to happen, God-father. You have known me since I was born, you know the kind of person I am. I don't request for favors like this unless it's extremely important. Please" I plead and he exhales heavily.

"You youths of nowadays, you do the most impossible things. How is it even possible that you had sex with Ace's fiancé?"

"It was a one night stand at a dark garage, we couldn't even recognize each other"

"Then how do you know it's her?"

"I carried out investigations"

"Of course you did, the Mighty Attorney"

"So, are you going to do it?"

"Have I ever said no to you? You got me whipped, son!"

I break into a gentle laugh and take his hands in mine.

"Thank you very much"

"You'll leave a sample of your blood and when Sophia comes for check up, I'll get hers and do it"

"Thank you very much God-father. So when will the results be ready?"

"Next week"

"No! I don't have that much time, can I get it tomorrow?"

"That's impossible..."

"God-father, a lot of people's futures depend on that result, I need it to be out before Saturday"

"Fine, fine. Pass by Thursday and collect it"

"Thank you very much!"

"You are welcome"

"I'll take my leave now, have a nice day"

"Same to you"

I rise up from my seat and exit the office.

I am doing the right thing, nobody can convince me otherwise.

Ace, Luna and my unborn child deserve this Justice.

Sophia, you might think you have won this battle, but you have no idea what's coming at you.
