CEO's Dilemma

CHAPTER FORTY-ONE

I am beyond shocked to wake up and find myself lying on my bed. I don't remember coming in here myself, I fell asleep while cuddled up in Ace's arms. He can't be the one who brought me in here because he doesn't know my bedroom. This house is quite large, he would never have figured it out.

I'm loosing my mind right now. I need to find answers. I pick up my cell phone from the night stand and step down from my bed. I walk out of the bedroom ignoring the fact that I might be looking like a scarecrow because I just woke up from sleep. I walk through the corroder which has got bedrooms side by side and it leads my to the living room on the second floor there I find Alora watching TV with a bowl of popcorn in her hand.

I'm glad she's here, I won't have to be all alone anymore.

"Please don't tell me I sleep walked to my bedroom" I say as I lazily slump on the couch by her side and take a handful of popcorn from the bowl.

"You just had to touch my popcorn"

"I couldn't help it"

"Tss, well...Ace carried you to your bedroom" She confirms and I turn to look at her completely. "Don't look at me like that, I walked in and found the two of you in a very heart warming position and he said he didn't just want to leave on the couch so I showed him to your bedroom. So yeah, you are welcome" She explains as she puts a handful of popcorn in her mouth and focuses her gaze on the TV.

"You know, I asked him to stop coming to see me and to stop calling frequently"

"Why would you even do that?"

"Alora we can't keep playing blind to the fact that I am nothing but his baby mama"

"Baby mama that he is in love with" She adds.

"But is engaged to another woman. That makes me his side chick too. That is the last thing I want to be"

"I don't want you to be his side chick either, that is why I want you take him away from that overly pompous strut called Sophia. I want you to mess her up, besides the guy wants to be with you!" She emphasizes and I shake my head in disagreement.

"I don't want to be a fiancé snatcher. If Ace and I are to be together one day, I want it to be the right way, besides how are you so sure that he loves me as much as he claims?. Ace and Sophia have known each other all their lives, they have been in love with each other for quite some time now. I don't think it is possible for him to suddenly fall out love with Sophia. To me, what attracts Ace to me is this child I am carrying. Nothing can convince me otherwise" I explain and she fold her arms and gives me a suspicious glance.

There's definitely something cooking up in her mind.

"Luna you are not as righteous as you claim to be. I know you love Ace, I know you want to be with him. Now tell me the truth, what is making you say all those?"

"I have told you. First, I don't want to make him mine by snatching him from someone else, second, I know he still loves Sophia, third, I believe he is only attached to me because of this child I am carrying. I'm just trying to avoid getting my heart broken again"

"I understand you, but like I said, you are not as righteous as you claim to be. So strike of the part about you not wanting to snatch someone's fiancé because we all know that someone has to loose for someone to gain. So tell me the main reason why you are trying to keep your distance from Ace" She asks looking at me straight in the eye and I swallow dryly.

She is right, all those reasons I've juts listed above are minor reasons, I am not afraid to take Ace from Sophia and even if I do, I won't feel guilty for it. Deep down in my heart I don't care if he is attracted to me because of the child I'm carrying, if I want Ace for myself, I will have him regardless if who he truly loves. I will make him love me especially now that I am pregnant with his child.

I can make Ace call off that wedding if I wanted to but I won't because I want something else

"Fine, you win. I don't want to get involved with Ace because I want to give Asher a chance after this child is born." I confess.

"Tell me more" She says with a bright smile as she focuses her attention on me.

"Yeah, all this time I have been going for the men I like and it has caused me nothing but pain and heartbreak. So, this time around, I want to go for the man who loves me, maybe that's where I will find peace and happiness"

"I just knew there was another reason. I just couldn't buy that self righteous attitude you kept putting on, I knew there was a main reason and you have finally spilled the beans"

"Yeah, so what do you think?"

"You really want to know what I think?" She asks with a raised brow.

"Yes, I do"

"I think you should snatch the CEO from that impulsive harridan. She doesn't deserve such a fine man, you do!"

"No, I think I deserve a man who genuinely loves me"

"Ace genuinely loves you" She insists.

"How are you even sure about that?"

"Have you seen the way he looks at you?, You needed to see how he held you while you slept in his arms. He didn't want to let you go. That guy loves you from here to the moon and back Luna, go for him"

"I still choose Asher, I want to be with Asher"

"You don't even love him, it's Ace you love!"

"Have you met Asher?, he is irresistible. I will eventually fall in love with him when we get together"

"Ugh! I am done arguing with you!" She says flinging her hands carelessly in the air. "All I have to say is, let the best man win"

"Alora, it's not a competition"

"Oh, it is my dear. So, brace yourself"

"You just..." I start to talk but I am cut off by a message notification in my phone. I unlock my phone and go to my WhatsApp inbox to check what the message is all about and who sent it.

"Strange contact" I announce the moment I see a strange number"

"Cool" Alora comments not even looking at me. I shake my head as I click on the message and it opens up.

"If you think you're going to pin my man down with that unwanted pregnancy of yours, just know that you have failed. Ace loves me and he is going to marry me. You are nothing to him but his baby mama and that is all you will ever be so watch it and stay in your lane. You don't want this whole issue to get messier than it already is. Bitch!" I read to Alora's hearing and she looks at me long and hard.

The only thing I can feel right now is my heart that is threatening to hop out of my chest.

"Are you sure you don't want to put that overly pompous scallywag in her place?" She asks furiously and I just shake my head as I carelessly throw the phone on the couch.

"I'm going to ignore her"

"You are such a bore!" she says in a boring tone as she turns to concentrate on the show she is watching.

This is going to be over soon.

Little did I know that it was only the beginning.
