Chapter 46: Returning To Vegas
Chapter 46: Returning To Vegas
The sun shone brightly in the clear blue summer sky, creating the perfect setting for outdoor activities.
At the exact location of Mr. Singer's grave, stood a classy woman with elegant features. Her fair and radiant complexion, along with her long dark hair, accentuated her striking appearance. Her figure was akin to the coveted hourglass shape.
On closer inspection, one would notice the resemblance to Andrea Singer. Indeed, it was her. Five years ago, she had gone into early labor and welcomed a baby boy into the world.
In the months following the birth, she swiftly shed the pregnancy weight and regained her pre- pregnancy figure.
Bowing down, she gently placed the flower and card on the grave's tombstone before rising to meet the gaze of the solemn marker. Her long lashes cast shadows beneath her eyes as she spoke softly, "Dad, I hope you're watching from above. I've honored your legacy, fulfilling your dreams and completing the projects you entrusted to me. Your foundation stands strong in your name."
Andrea's humility shone through in her words.
Following her time as a devoted mother, she assumed leadership of the Singers Group, swiftly proving her capabilities to the board. Under her guidance, the Singers Group emerged victorious, toppling rivals and acquiring numerous industry giants. Notably, the ousting of Sylvester marked a pinnacle of success she cherished.
"Mama!" a joyous, childish voice rang out.
Andrea turned around and was surprised to see Tony carrying a young boy who bore a striking resemblance to Valentine Anderson. If Valentine were here, he would undoubtedly be taken aback, wondering if he had a child he didn't know about.
A smile lit up Andrea's face as she took three steps toward Tony and the boy, who turned out to be her son, Pete. However, Pete was not content to stay in Tony's arms; he wriggled free and dashed towards Andrea, startling her.
"Pete, be careful!" Andrea called out, her voice tinged with anxiety.
Pete let out a mischievous giggle and launched himself at Andrea, who caught him up in her arms.
Pouting, Pete exclaimed, "Mommy, you went to see grandpa without me! Don't you love me anymore?"
Planting a flurry of kisses on his chubby cheeks, Andrea tickled him until he laughed joyfully. "Mommy loves Pete the most. I promise not to leave you behind again," she reassured him.
Pete's smile widened, his eyes sparkling as he gazed toward Mr. Singer's grave. "Mommy, can I go play with grandpa now?" he asked eagerly.
"Yes," Andrea replied without hesitation as she gently set Pete down.
Pete sprang to his feet and hurried over to Mr. Singer's grave, eager to share the toys he had brought.
As Andrea lifted her head, she caught Tony staring at her in a daze.
Through the years, Tony had watched Andrea blossom into a stunning woman, each day more beautiful than the last. He recalled Mr. Singer's words from years ago and regretted the choice he had made not to marry Andrea. She could have been his wife now, he thought.
"Thank you for bringing Pete here," Andrea said softly, turning her attention to Pete, who was busy introducing his toys to Mr. Singers grave.
"Are you leaving?" Tony asked gently.
Andrea nodded solemnly before replying, "I have to. I promised my father that I would give Pete a complete family. Although Pete is very perceptive, I sense that he also needs his father."
Tony's face revealed no emotion as he pondered the situation. After a moment of hesitation, he finally asked, "Are you planning to reconcile with your ex-husband?"
Andrea paused thoughtfully before responding, "I need to test him to see if he deserves a second chance. If he passes my test, I'll give him another opportunity. If he doesn't, I won't let him know about Pete. I won't allow a jackass to be Pete's father."
"Andrea, I hope you're making the right decision," Tony finally said.
Before Andrea could reply, Pete came running over, exclaiming happily, "Mom, look, I shared some of my toys with grandpa. Will he like them?"
Andrea tousled his hair affectionately and replied with a warm smile that captivated Tony, "Of course, he will love them."
Upon hearing his mother's positive response, Pete joyfully ran back to Mr. Singer's grave.
Andrea turned to Tony with a look of concern. "Tony, I really think you should consider giving Agatha another chance. Over the years, I've seen how much she truly loves you, and she's been genuinely remorseful for the mistakes she made in the past. I don't know the full extent of what happened between you two, but I would love to see you both together and happy."
Tony's expression darkened. After Mr. Singer's funeral, Agatha had stayed behind to manage the company during Andrea's absence. She had played a pivotal role in ensuring a smooth transition as Andrea took over the helm, and had been a reliable guide and supporter in running the business. Andrea even thought of her as a godmother.
But Tony struggled with his feelings. No matter how much Agatha pleaded, he couldn't find it within himself to love her again. The haunting memory of finding Mr. Singer's lifeless body, with Agatha present, was a barrier he couldn't overcome.
"I-"Tony started, but before he could finish his thought, Andrea cut in.
"Tony, I just hope you can open your heart to Agatha again. She's not going to wait for you forever."
Tony's expression shifted into one of deep contemplation. Despite everything, a part of him still loved Agatha.
"Pete! Let's head home," Andrea called out to her son.
"Just a second, Momma! I want to say goodbye to Grandpa," Pete replied.
A few minutes later, the trio left the cemetery and made their way to the Singer mansion.
Upon arriving, they found suitcases neatly arranged in the living room, organized under Housekeeper Win's careful instructions.
"Grandma Win!" Pete exclaimed with joy as he dashed into the living room.
Housekeeper Win's face lit up with a broad smile, and she crouched down to Pete's level. "Pete, did you go to say hello to your grandpa?"
"I sure did! I went with Mommy to greet Grandpa," Pete said, his voice brimming with happiness. As she stroked his soft, chubby cheek, Housekeeper Win praised him, "Good boy."
Looking around at the suitcases, Andrea turned to Housekeeper Win and said, "Win, thank you for everything. I'm going to leave Pete with you. I don't want to take him to Vegas right now." Over the years, Housekeeper Win had cared for both her and Pete as if they were her own children.
