Accidentally Slept With The Ruthless Billionaire

Chapter 625: Dave Is A Liar!

Chapter 625: Dave Is A Liar!

"A friend in the industry told me that many companies had high hopes for Phoenix Alliance Group's and Emerald Artists Agency's deals with Universal Pictures. They signed contracts based on that expectation. Now, they're in deep regret. Not only will they lose money, but if they've deceived Universal Pictures, they'll be blacklisted! There's no coming back from that."

"I wonder how Universal Pictures will react when they hear about this happening in Edenfield. This scandal has severely damaged the reputations of both Phoenix Alliance Group and Emerald Artists Agency. The entire country knows about it now."

"We're witnessing history in real-time. Phoenix Alliance Group's stock price is rapidly declining."

"This scene is indeed eye-catching; you must have put a lot of effort into it." Dave scanned the room, his eyes sharp and calculating. The secret bodyguards had already secured the area. With a flicker of disdain, he leaned closer to Blake's ear and murmured, "Are you sure you're really one step ahead?"

Blake hesitated, and doubt flickered in his eyes. Why was Dave still so sure of himself?

Bianca sighed and shook her head. “Blake, you’ve already lost.”

She had no wish to drag this on. She and Dave had agreed that if Blake stepped back, they would call it an elaborate act, a performance staged for the audience. It would put the rumors to rest and even allow for a rematch later.

But Blake refused to stop.

“I lost?” He stared at her, stunned. “You still don’t see it, do you? Dave is a liar! He’s deceived you!”

“When you think you’re winning, maybe you’re just one step ahead… while we’re already three steps ahead of you.” Dave lifted the microphone to his lips.

“Everyone, please settle down. I have an important announcement.”

The noisy room quieted at once, and all eyes were fixed on him.

Dave slowly raised his right hand and pointed toward the back entrance of the auditorium, where bright spotlights suddenly flared.

“Let’s welcome the representative of Universal Pictures in Edenfield, Ms. Brenda McGee, and her honored guest, Ms. Catherine Laura!”

Dave’s voice boomed across the venue, echoing like a gavel striking down.

The crowd fell into stunned silence, those in the hall, those watching on TV, and the countless viewers online.

Within seconds, social media lit up with heated debates and bold headlines.

“What’s going on?! Is this really part of the script? This is unreal!”

“No wonder Universal Pictures is backing this! It’s a masterclass in suspense, twists at every turn! I’m hooked!”

“If this wasn’t staged, the livestream would’ve been shut down already. This is insane! Who even thought of this? Absolute genius!”

“What a twist! Those conspiracy theorists can shut it; there’s no shady business here. A ‘fake Brenda McGee’? Seriously? Who would plan a surgery half a year ago just to replace her?”

“What am I even watching right now, a competition or a thriller? The tension is unreal! And the people on stage? Not an ounce of acting. They’re the real deal. Incredible.”

Blake’s eyes narrowed, suspicion clouding his face. Was Dave just putting on a show, or was he telling the truth?

“Dave, you’re still pretending, aren’t you?” he hissed, teeth clenched, turning to Bianca, whose face was filled with disappointment.

“Bianca, look at the man you chose. In the end, he—”

Before Blake could finish, the door creaked open.

Slowly, almost like a ceremony, Michael stepped inside, flanked by two figures whose silhouettes radiated elegance.

The hall went silent, every heartbeat echoing in the stillness.

“Oh my God! It’s really Brenda McGee!” someone gasped from the crowd.

The shifting lights brightened, revealing her face in full. It was Brenda McGee, the woman everyone knew, the face seen on countless screens.

Beside her stood another woman, dressed in a gown so lavish it seemed to command the light itself. The sleeves sparkled with scattered diamonds, glittering like a constellation. Around her neck hung a stunning emerald necklace, its gem glowing as if it held secrets within.

But more than her beauty, it was her presence that silenced the room. She carried herself with a nobility that felt timeless, as if she had stepped straight out of history.

“Katharine Lola? Who is she? She looks so refined! Is she some kind of star?”

The crowd murmured in wonder until someone sharp-eyed recognized her online.

“Oh my God! That’s Katharine Lola! They say she’s the richest landowner in Titania! Her mother was a princess who owned huge estates and castles. She's a real aristocrat from the Yefral! But why is she here?”

“Wait, this woman is that powerful? No wonder she moves like royalty. Every step, every glance, it’s pure grace. You can tell she was raised with the best education and training. I’m honestly impressed.”

“Hold on… what’s going on? Another Brenda? Is this part of the script? My head’s spinning!”

“No, look closely. She’s different. This Brenda feels more composed, more refined. There’s a silent confidence about her. I don’t think she’s the same one from earlier.”

“Not the same person? Are you saying someone actually went through plastic surgery just to become a copy of Brenda McGee? That’s ridiculous!”

“I still think Brenda’s just acting. It’s her job, right? They have to be the same person, I’d bet on it.”

“Forget the arguing! Look, they’re stepping onto the stage. The real showdown’s about to start. Whatever happens next is going to be explosive!”

“I feel the same, man. Maybe the competition isn’t even finished. My whole family’s watching, and we all agree, it’s a masterful performance. Scripted or not, the storytelling is incredible.”

“Exactly! I can’t wait to see how this plays out! But hold on… isn’t this supposed to be a competition? How are they even going to judge this now? If there’s another Brenda, does that change the whole outcome? I need answers!”

On stage, Blake’s face was cold as steel, his eyes blazing with accusation. With a sharp, deliberate motion, he pointed at Dave standing beside Brenda. “I should’ve known,” he spat, his voice dripping with scorn. “You had a backup all along. If you could make one woman look like her, what’s stopping you from making another? You’re shameless, Dave!”

Dave’s face stayed unreadable under Blake’s barrage, though a glint of amusement flickered in his eyes.

“Oh? That’s your argument?” Dave shook his head, then turned to the cameraman in the crowd. His voice rang with certainty. “Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce the real Brenda McGee, the representative of Universal Pictures in Edenfield.”

“You call her Brenda McGee? Then where’s your proof?” Blake demanded, fighting the confusion gnawing at him.
