Accidentally Slept With The Ruthless Billionaire

Chapter 584: No Need To Thank Me

Chapter 584: No Need To Thank Me

Diana moved closer. “I heard the Lawson Group recently lost 51% of its shares. The company was in chaos until Blake showed up and saved it.”

“Really? Where did you hear that? Are you sure it’s true?” Bianca asked, frowning.

Diana nodded. “Brandon told me. He has some inside connections. He said Triumph Capital now controls 51% of Lawson Group’s shares. Blake’s uncles, who used to be independent shareholders, handed their shares over to him.”

“So… he really is Brady’s son,” Bianca said softly, still trying to believe it.

Diana crossed her arms and let out a sigh. “Yeah. Even though he has the Lawson name, I never expected this. And he, being an illegitimate child… it’s shocking how fast he gained the family’s support.”

What Bianca and Diana didn’t know was that Blake wasn’t the same person they used to know. He had changed. He was now cold and ruthless, hiding his true self behind a polite smile.

“But…” Bianca started to say something but stopped. She was too shocked. After all, she had seen Brady’s death with her own eyes, standing beside Dave.

It took Bianca a long time to calm down after Diana left.

Brady, who had killed his wife and then jumped to his death, had gotten what he deserved. Bianca had almost forgotten about him. But now, she wondered how much Blake knew… and if he might have misunderstood what happened.

Just then, her phone rang. It was Blake.

“Bianca, I have a photo you need to see.”

“What photo?” Bianca asked, her heart tightening.

A photo soon appeared on Bianca’s phone. It showed Brady falling to his death. Bianca and Dave were standing nearby. Dave was covering Bianca’s eyes with his hand.

“Isn’t that you next to Dave?” Blake asked. His voice was firm. “Bianca, I need to know what really happened. Why did my father fall?”

Bianca nervously played with her fingers. She answered softly, “At that time, Lucas was in the hospital. Brady was helping us take care of him.”

She swallowed hard, unsure how to explain the truth. She couldn’t just tell Blake that Brady had killed his wife, lost everything by gambling on Phoenix Alliance Group, and ended his life out of despair.

“I see. But why did he jump?” Blake asked calmly. “I only found out he was my father after his people gave me his will. I don’t feel anything for him… but I need to know if his death was really an accident. Tell me the truth.”

Bianca hesitated, thinking carefully. Maybe it was better to say it was an accident. That way, Blake wouldn’t hate his father.

“It must have been an accident. Lucas was in the hospital after Rachel died. Rachel was Brady’s wife, so her death hit him hard, too.

The police looked into it. They said it was suicide,” Bianca said. She told the truth but left out the part about Brady killing his wife.

“Oh… I see. Still, I never thought I’d end up running Lawson Group. It’s way harder than being a singer,” Blake said with a small smile.

“Starting is always the hardest. But you’ve been through tough times before. Believe in yourself. You’ll do fine,” Bianca said softly.

“I hope so,” Blake replied. Then he changed the subject. “By the way, I canceled our engagement this morning.”

“Thank you, Blake,” Bianca said softly.

“No need to thank me. But… I hope we can still be friends. And maybe you can help me sometimes,” Blake said.

“Is there something you need my help with?” Bianca asked.

Blake stayed silent for a moment. Then he cleared his throat and said, “I could use some advice… on how to run the company.”

Bianca couldn’t say no. “Okay. If you have questions, just call me anytime.”

“I don’t have any right now. Just hearing that you’re willing to help is enough. I’ll focus on learning how to run the company first. Don’t worry, I won’t bother you,” Blake said.

After he hung up, his face changed. His expression turned cold.

Bianca’s answer left him feeling empty. Before his father died, Brady had tried to reach out to him. Blake was sure Dave had pushed his father over the edge. But the police had called it a simple suicide and ignored the truth.

On the surface, Blake looked like he was in charge of the Lawson Group. But in reality, Triumph Capital controlled everything behind the scenes. Dave was the one pulling the strings.

Blake hadn’t just lost his father. He had also lost control of the Lawson Group.

Just then, a loud knock came.

Blake waved to his assistant. “Let her in,” he said firmly.

A moment later, the door opened. A woman walked in, her heels clicking on the floor. She wore black sunglasses and a fitted suit that showed off her figure.

“Hello, Mr. Lawson,” she said smoothly. “Do you remember me?” She smiled faintly.

Blake looked her over from head to toe. He felt curious, but nothing about her seemed familiar.

“Sorry. I don’t remember you,” he said, a little frustrated. “Have we met before?”

The woman looked around, then gave Blake a knowing smile. “We’ve met before. I just don’t look like you remember. But who I am doesn’t matter. What matters is that we share the same enemy. I’m here to talk about working together.”

She smiled slyly, and her eyes shone brightly. “Don’t you want to team up with me to bring down Bianca and Dave?”

Blake’s eyes flickered, but he kept his face calm. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. Bianca’s my friend. I’ve got no problem with Dave.”

The woman’s smile turned cold. She stared straight at him, her voice firm. “Blake, stop pretending. I’m serious.”

For a moment, surprise flashed in Blake’s eyes, but it quickly turned into a deep frown. He could tell she knew things she wasn’t saying. But since she wouldn’t reveal who she was, letting her go without answers felt too risky. He had no idea what kind of damage she could do.

Blake snapped his fingers, and right away, a group of men in black stepped forward, surrounding the woman with quick movements.

“Who exactly are you?” he said sharply, his tone cold. He was running out of patience. “If you don’t speak now, you’re not leaving.”

“I’m not your enemy,” the woman said softly, her voice calm but sincere.

She didn’t seem bothered at all. She walked straight toward him and said, “I’m here to help you.”

Her boldness caught Blake’s attention. He raised an eyebrow and said, “What makes you think I’d want to work with you?”

She leaned closer, lowering her voice. “The anger over your father’s death… and losing the woman you love… that cuts deep, doesn’t it?” she said softly. “You’re a man. I know you get what I’m saying, Mr. Lawson.”

As soon as she finished, Blake’s face went cold. His expression turned hard, like a wall had gone up. He was shocked. She knew too much. His eyes narrowed as he stared at her, realizing this woman wasn’t just anyone.
