Chapter 569: I’m In A Meeting
Chapter 569: I’m In A Meeting
When she finally reached her office, she went straight to her desk and logged into her social media account, hoping to find some answers. But there was no clue about it.
Just then, Diana walked into the office carrying a thick stack of documents. She dropped them onto Bianca’s desk.
“These are the proposals from the companies lining up this morning. They all want to work with us. There are a hundred of them.”
“What?” Bianca’s eyes widened.
“A hundred? You’ve got to be kidding!”
She couldn’t believe it. Sure, their company was well-known, but not to the point where a hundred companies would suddenly want to partner with them.
“I’m not joking. There really are a hundred,” Diana said. She looked tired but clearly excited.
Diana went on, “And remember, that’s just for today. We’ve got more companies scheduled for meetings all the way until Friday.”
Bianca was even more shocked. It was only Monday. If there were a hundred companies each day, did that mean five hundred companies would come to talk about working with them?
She was so stunned she couldn’t say anything. Could it be that every media and entertainment company in the country had shown up?
She wasn’t wrong. The people waiting outside had come from all over the country.
While Bianca stood there, lost in thought, Diana suddenly asked, “Bianca, what did you do?”
Seeing Bianca’s confusion, Diana added, “Or should I say… what did Dave do? I know our company’s popular, but not this popular. Everyone wants to work with us. And honestly, after reading the terms in their proposals, it’s hard to say no.”
Bianca shook her head. “I didn’t do anything.” She had been with Dave these past few days and didn’t notice anything unusual. So, she simply said, “I’ll ask him later.”
Diana nodded. Whoever was behind this, they owed that person a thank you. After all, it was good for Emerald Artists Agency.
Bianca picked up one of the documents and read the terms. Almost all the conditions favored their company. The only thing the other side asked for was a long-term partnership. If she said yes, the company’s success would be easy.
But what on earth did Dave do?
Bianca was so curious she couldn’t wait any longer. While Diana went out to manage the crowd, she grabbed her phone and called Dave.
It was still work hours, so she wasn’t sure if he’d pick up. But to her surprise, his voice came through quickly.
“Bianca, I’m in a meeting.”
Bianca felt a bit awkward. “Sorry. Go back to work then.”
“It’s okay. What’s wrong?” Dave asked. He stood up and walked out of the conference room with his phone, leaving a room full of senior executives staring at each other, confused.
None of the executives dared to say a word. If someone could make their boss answer a call in the middle of a meeting, that person had to be important.
Bianca hesitated for a moment. Knowing Dave was busy, she kept it short. “A lot of companies showed up today, wanting to work with Emerald Artists Agency. Do you know anything about this?”
“No. I don’t know anything,” Dave replied. He paused for a moment, then added, “Maybe they’re finally seeing how strong Emerald Artists Agency is.”
Minutes passed, but Bianca still held the phone in her hand after ending the call. She couldn’t stop thinking about what Dave said. His words kept replaying in her mind.
After a while, she forced herself to focus and started meeting with the company representatives who were waiting to speak with her. Even so, she chose to trust Dave for now.
She couldn’t figure out any clear reason for what was happening, but she hoped she might get answers from these people.
Unfortunately, after talking to them, she was disappointed. No one gave her a clear answer. They avoided her questions and didn’t explain anything.
Instead, they kept praising her abilities, saying she was outstanding. They also said they hoped her company’s artists could join their events and commercial shows.
Aside from that, some companies showed interest in deals that had nothing to do with Emerald Artists Agency’s main business. They came because they wanted to invest in the company. They probably saw a chance to grow their business by partnering with them. Surprisingly, they didn’t ask for a large share. Just a small percentage was enough for them. But no matter how hard they tried to convince Bianca, she refused. Emerald Artists Agency already had enough investors and didn’t need more.
Bianca stayed busy with meetings until the afternoon. She was so caught up that she forgot to eat lunch.
By the end of the day, she had signed several major projects after thinking things through carefully.
Even though the day was exhausting, both Bianca and Diana couldn’t hide the excitement and satisfaction on their faces.
Brandon joked that, after helping them all day, Diana should treat him to a meal. After all, that was the least she could do to thank him.
“You’re joking, right? Why would I treat you? And why would I owe you anything?” Diana said, cutting Brandon off before he could answer. Then she grinned and added, “Sorry, but Bianca and I are having dinner together tonight. If you’ve got nothing else to do, you’re free to go home. Your help’s no longer needed. Bye!”
Just as Diana said this, Bianca’s phone rang. It was Dave. He told her he had reserved a table for two at a fine dining restaurant. He wanted to spend the evening alone with her.
After the call, Bianca told them what Dave said. Brandon couldn’t help but cheer inside. He thought, “Nice!”
Dave’s timing never failed. Now that Bianca had dinner plans, Brandon had a chance to spend the evening with Diana.
“You heard her, Diana. Looks like Bianca’s booked for tonight. That means it’s just the two of us now,” Brandon said, feeling more confident. “Come on, Diana, relax a little! We’ve been working all day, and we’re not done talking yet.” He gave her a meaningful look, certain she wouldn’t refuse him this time.
“Diana, I think it might be a good idea for you to take Mr. Foster out for dinner. You two can talk about work, and maybe he’ll have some useful ideas to share. Just think of it as a business dinner, okay?” Bianca said gently, giving Diana a warm smile. She had a feeling something was going on between the two of them.
