Chapter 482: Keep It Down, Will You?
Chapter 482: Keep It Down, Will You?
Bianca calmly sipped her water, trying to hide her nervousness.
“Haven’t you met enough billionaires during your travels?” Madison said with a sigh. “Still distracted by shiny things?”
“But this guy... his garage must be a goldmine. I need to meet him,” Leonel said with his eyes gleaming.
Madison didn’t bother replying. She stood up and quietly went back to her room.
Leonel stayed on the couch, still caught up in thoughts of the car, sighing like a hopeless romantic.
Trying to pull him back to reality, Bianca changed the topic. “So, how was your date today?”
“It was fine,” he said, but his head was clearly still spinning with engine sounds.
Bianca raised a brow and gave him a teasing grin. “Oh? So you’re calling it a date now?”
Busted, Leonel quickly slapped a hand over her mouth. His eyes widened. “Shush! Keep your voice down! Don’t let Mom hear!”
Bianca pulled away, pretending to be serious. “Why all the secrecy? Come on, tell me. Who’s the girl? I might need to run a background check.”
Leaning back, a soft smile appeared on his face. After a short pause, he whispered, “Reese.”
“Reese?” Bianca shot up, her voice louder than intended.
Leonel panicked and whispered sharply, “Keep it down, will you?”
Leaning in, Bianca whispered, her tone full of disbelief. “You and Reese? Since when? How am I just hearing about this?”
“We’re not really a thing yet. We’re just spending time together. Nothing serious,” he said, acting casual.
Bianca’s eyes narrowed. “Don’t mess with her, Leonel. You need to be clear about your intentions. I’m not letting you hurt her, even if you’re my brother.”
Leonel’s expression softened. “Bianc, it’s fine. She hasn’t said how she feels yet. We’re just hanging out.”
Bianca felt a little more at ease hearing that.
But then Leonel added, “The thing is, she’s into someone else.”
The name Blake popped into Bianca’s mind right away. Reese had always cared for him, but after his accident, everything seemed to fade.
Bianca went silent.
Leonel noticed and leaned closer, his eyes narrowing with curiosity. “You know something, don’t you? Who do you think she likes?”
Bianca thought for a moment, then shook her head.
She wasn’t sure if Reese still liked Blake. She also didn’t know how her brother would react if he found out Blake was getting in the way.
To keep things peaceful, Bianca stayed quiet.
“I don’t know. She’s never talked to me about who she likes.” Bianca gave a small smile. “But you’re amazing. I don’t think it would be hard for her to like you.”
Leonel liked hearing praise, especially from Bianca. He lifted his chin with pride.
“Absolutely. I’ve never failed to win over a woman I liked since I was a kid!”
“But are you really serious about Reese?” Bianca asked and her tone turned sharp.
Leonel paused. He wasn’t sure how he really felt.
At first, it was her looks that caught his eye—especially her long legs. He’d dated plenty of girls overseas, but none had made him feel quite like this.
He’d always known the difference between lust and love. Some girls were for fun. Others, he saw as something more.
Leonel had always been good at reading women. Most of the time, he could tell what kind of person they were the moment they met.
But Reese was different.
She left him unsure. He knew he liked her, but he didn’t know if it was just attraction or something more.
Bianca noticed his silence and spoke softly. “Reese’s been through a lot. She’s fragile but honest. If you’re not serious about her, don’t mess with her feelings. Think about whether you’d want to spend your life with her.”
Leonel looked up, surprised. He had never thought about marriage.
Honestly, he still wanted to enjoy his freedom. And maybe, deep down, it was because of his parents’ messy relationship. Watching their fights as a kid had made him afraid to settle down.
“Bianc, relationships between men and women aren’t that complicated. If two people love each other, that’s enough. Marriage isn’t necessary. I’ve never even thought about getting married.”
It was the first time Bianca heard her brother say something like that. She stared at him, clearly surprised.
Then she remembered something their mom had told her not long ago.
A heavy feeling settled in her chest.
“But Mom wanted…”
“I know. Mom wants me to settle down soon. But that’s her choice, not mine. These days, a lot of people don’t get married. I’m one of them. I think you’ll get it, right? You’re not married either!”
Leonel gave her a playful grin. “Maybe you should find someone soon, just to calm Mom down and take the pressure off me. Blake’s a good guy. He might be injured, but he treats you well. That’s what matters.”
Bianca suddenly stood up from the couch. “I get that you don’t want to marry, but don’t try to force your ideas on me!”
Leonel looked shocked. He blinked, confused. “Did I say something wrong? You and your boyfriend broke up. Blake’s from a decent family. Vincent and Paige can help your career too. Even with his injury, he’s smart, and he sings well. He has a future. Bianc, you should marry someone right for you. Don’t be too picky.”
Bianca clenched her fists. She wanted to speak, but anything she said now might only lead to an argument.
She didn’t want another fight.
Holding back her frustration, Bianca gave Leonel a sharp look and said, “If you’re not planning to marry, then leave Reese alone. She’s not like you. She doesn’t have time to waste.”
Without waiting for his reply, she turned and walked away.
Leonel watched her leave, then mumbled under his breath, “It’s not your business.”
Bianca went to her room. Her mind was filled with thoughts. She lay in bed, tossing and turning, unable to sleep.
She picked up her phone. A whole day had passed, and Dave still hadn’t called.
Her mother’s words echoed in her mind.
Lucas wasn’t willing to let Dave go. He wanted him back in the Evans Group. So what was Dave going to do?
Suddenly, a thought struck Bianca. She sat up straight.
If Lucas wanted to force Dave to return, he would probably do everything he could to make things hard for him.
Could the urgent matter Dave was handling today be related to the Evans Group?
