Chapter 439: Come In
Chapter 439: Come In
“Does it even matter?” Bianca shot back, her tone dripping with disdain. “Mr. Evans, spare me the drama. I’m done being part of your messy love story. If you need an audience, go to Skylar Larson. She’s clearly obsessed with you and willing to play along. As for me, I’m not worth your time.”
Her words hit Dave like a spark to dry tinder. His eyes darkened instantly out of anger.
Without warning, he slammed her against the wall. The impact knocked the breath from her lungs.
Despite the pressure, Bianca held her head high, her eyes fierce and unyielding.
“Bianca, are you testing my patience?” Dave growled, his face inches from hers.
A sharp, defiant laugh escaped her. “You’re Dave Evans, a powerful businessman. I’m just an ordinary agent with nothing to bargain with. You can do whatever you want. But I won’t be your puppet anymore.”
Dave started to reply, but the words never came.
Her words cut deep.
She didn’t love him anymore.
Any explanation would be useless. It would only make him look desperate.
“So,” Bianca said, her voice cold, “if you’re not going to do anything, then maybe you should let me go?”
Dave stared into her distant eyes. After a long pause, he exhaled heavily and loosened his grip, stepping back.
Bianca adjusted her shawl, turned, and walked past him without a second glance.
Her eyes stung with unshed tears, but she refused to cry over him again.
Diana had just finished her bath in the lounge and was waiting for Bianca to return.
She popped a dessert into her mouth when her phone buzzed with a new message.
As she glanced at the screen, her expression shifted.
It was a message from Brandon. "You haven't thanked me for last time. I'll be waiting in private room 203. Do you dare to come?"
Diana’s heart pounded. She knew exactly what kind of “thanks” he wanted.
But she had made a promise before. Backing out now would make her look like a coward.
Gritting her teeth, she steadied herself and walked toward the room.
When she reached the private room Brandon had mentioned, she took a deep breath and pressed the doorbell.
The door opened from the inside.
Brandon stood there, leaning against the doorframe in a khaki sweater, a smug smile on his lips.
“Come in,” he said smoothly.
With a slight smirk, Diana followed him inside.
Brandon walked to the wine cabinet, pulled out a bottle of red wine, and set two glasses on the table.
He poured the wine slowly, his movements smooth and deliberate.
Diana stood to the side, silently watching him.
"Thanks for what you did last time," Diana said after a brief pause.
Brandon hesitated slightly as he poured the wine. Her unexpected gratitude amused him, putting him in a good mood.
He handed her a glass, grinning. "Shall we toast to that?"
Diana took the glass and drank it all in one go, not leaving a drop.
She set the empty glass on the table and fixed her eyes on him.
"Brandon, you've known all along that Dave runs Phoenix Alliance Group, haven't you? Why did you keep it a secret? Why is he hiding it from Bianca? What is he planning?”
Brandon’s brows furrowed, a storm brewing in his expression. He stared at his empty glass, his emotions unreadable.
Seeing his silence, Diana pushed forward. “Did Dave also tell you to make things difficult for Blake on the show?”
Brandon set down his glass. His eyes turned icy as he looked at her.
“You came to see me, yet your mind is somewhere else—thinking about other men,” he said coolly. “Have you forgotten why you’re here?”
“I…” Diana bit her lip. “I’ve already thanked you. That’s… a different matter.”
Brandon chuckled. “Do you really think a simple ‘thank you’ is enough?”
"What more do you want?" Diana asked, biting her bottom lip.
Brandon raised an eyebrow and sat down, crossing his legs on the couch. His sharp eyes locked onto her.
"Some people think they can break their word and just walk away," he said smoothly. "They act clueless, thinking they can back out without consequences."
He leaned back, a smug look on his face. "But never mind. I’m not the kind to force anyone."
His tactic worked. Annoyed by his words, Diana stepped forward, her glare sharp.
"And what makes you think I'm backing out?" she challenged him.
A sly smile played on Brandon’s lips. Without warning, he grabbed her arm and pulled her forward.
Diana lost her balance and fell against him. Her hands instinctively landed on either side of his head.
“Fine,” Brandon teased, his face just inches from hers. “If you’re holding up your end of the deal, what do you plan to do about it?”
Diana swallowed hard, drawn in by the intense pull he had over her.
Beyond being a famous celebrity and a vocal maestro, he had an undeniable charm—irresistible and magnetic.
But one thing held her back.
His reputation as a notorious playboy, having been with countless women.
And worse, because of the way he had affected her, Diana had developed a deep fear that kept her from getting intimate with anyone else.
He was the only man she had ever been with.
The more Diana thought about it, the more unfair it seemed. Why was everything so one-sided?
If she couldn’t overcome this, she would never be able to accept him completely.
But right now, she was determined to keep her word.
Taking a deep breath, she looked at him seriously.
“If you want me, just say it. No more games.”
Brandon’s eyes narrowed slightly, amused by her boldness. He pulled her close, his hand cradling the back of her head, and captured her lips in a deep, passionate kiss.
Diana trembled, her body softening as she melted into his embrace. His arm tightened around her waist as he gently eased her onto the sofa.
Though they had kissed before, this time felt different.
Last time, it had been the alcohol that pushed her. But now, she was fully aware—there was no resistance, no hesitation.
The discomfort she once felt was gone, replaced by the warmth of his touch. A deep longing suddenly awakened inside her as she responded without holding back.
Seeing she yielded to him, Brandon’s desire flared up. His touch grew softer and his movements became more tender.
