Chapter 119: What Do You Want Me To Call You
Chapter 119: What Do You Want Me To Call You
She was also surprised at how quickly Elaine had warmed up to Dave. It was a stark contrast to when Elaine had bitten her hard during their first meeting.
Feeling frustrated, Bianca crossed her arms and reluctantly said, “Elaine, you shouldn’t trust strangers so easily. You must be careful and stay safe from anyone who might cause trouble.”
“But...” Elaine gazed at Bianca innocently and said, “But Aunt Bianca, he seems much more trustworthy than you. He feels like a big brother to me.”
A silence fell between them.
Suddenly, a realization hit Bianca, and she shot Elaine an irritated glance. “Wait a minute. You called me ‘Aunt Bianca,’ but you see him as a big brother?”
Elaine nodded. “Yes, my mom said you are Aunt Bianca.”
“Then why does he seem like an older brother to you?” Bianca pointed her finger towards Dave.
Elaine blinked and explained, “It’s just our connection, you know.” Then she hurried over to Dave and affectionately hugged his legs.
Bianca was left speechless.
It was rare for Dave to see Bianca in such a defeated state. She usually projected a strong and resilient image. As he watched her pursed her lips and sighed softly, her eyes filled with a sense of helplessness, he couldn’t help but find her charming.
Today was an unusual moment when Bianca found herself completely speechless.
Suddenly, she realized she shouldn’t take a young girl’s words too seriously.
Regardless, Dave wasn’t the one at a disadvantage—it was Bianca.
With that thought in mind, Bianca narrowed her eyes and gave Dave a mischievous smile. “Since you’re like a big brother to Elaine, maybe you should call me...”
Before Bianca could say, “Aunt Bianca,” Dave grinned and leaned in, whispering, “I didn’t realize you’re into role-playing. What do you want me to call you? I’ll play along when we get home.”
A blush instantly spread across Bianca’s face as she glared at Dave.
Grinning, Dave took Elaine’s hand in one of his and Bianca’s in the other, leading them to the amusement park.
Bianca looked at Dave, noticing his unusually gentle demeanor today made her heart flutter more than usual.
They arrived at the “Spinning Barrels” amusement park. Bianca paused, thinking it seemed more suited for kids. She turned to Elaine eagerly, saying, “Elaine, this one looks like fun! Let’s give it a try!”
“Boring.”
Elaine dismissed her suggestion plainly, pointing to the sky. “I want to ride that one.”
Following Elaine’s finger, Bianca saw the towering roller coaster track soaring high into the sky. It was one of the most thrilling rides in the amusement park.
“Well…” Bianca couldn’t help but feel a bit nervous. She forced a smile and said, “Elaine, you’re still young. It’s not safe for you to ride such a thrilling attraction.”
But Elaine quickly sensed her hesitation and challenged her, “Are you scared, Aunt Bianca? If you are, he can go with me instead.”
Bianca felt a bit embarrassed, especially being called out by a young girl.
Determined not to back down, she responded firmly, “I’m definitely not scared! Let’s do it!”
The three of them boarded the roller coaster. Dave and Bianca sat on the ends with Elaine in the middle, eagerly looking around excitedly.
Bianca bit her lip hard, her face turning pale. It was her first time on such an intense ride, and she clearly looked restless.
Seeing Bianca’s discomfort, Dave gently took her freezing hand in his.
Everyone screamed as the roller coaster started, and Bianca held onto Dave’s hand tightly.
His warmth comforted her. She felt like she was facing great danger, but with him beside her, she felt brave.
Once back on solid ground, Bianca’s legs felt shaky, but the thrilling experience helped her release the stress and worries of recent times as she screamed along with the ride.
Then, they joined Elaine in exploring several thrilling attractions, having a wonderful time together without any worries.
As the sun started to set, they decided to take Elaine to a mall for dinner.
Upon entering the mall, they witnessed a grand ribbon-cutting ceremony. Bianca noticed a familiar woman at the center of the attention.
It was... Ashley!
Ashley has gained popularity recently through some advertisements. She appeared to be the guest of honor at this event. Bianca hadn’t seen her since Ashley’s embarrassing incident at the horse-riding club.
Lately, Ashley hadn’t been causing Bianca any trouble.
Bianca had assumed that without Joshua’s protection, Ashley would struggle. Yet, seeing Ashley confident and unaffected now, it seemed she wasn’t affected at all.
With Elaine nearby, Bianca wanted to avoid any conflict with Ashley. So, she hurriedly walked into the mall.
“Bianca?”
But a sharp, piercing voice called out from behind, making Bianca stop involuntarily. She closed her eyes briefly, then turned around, only to face Ashley’s irritating expression.
Ashley’s gaze swiftly shifted to Dave, standing behind Bianca, holding the little girl in his arms. There was a hint of something malicious in her eyes.
Then, she twisted her red lips into a smirk and suddenly accused in a loud, shrill voice, “Bianca, you’re supposed to be married with a child, yet here you are, openly flirting with Vincent’s godson? Have you no shame?”
The crowd surrounding them gathered for the event, immediately turned their attention to Bianca. The recent gossip about her and Blake had made her a recognizable figure.
As they noticed the man and child beside her, the crowd began buzzing with excitement, as if they had just uncovered a scandalous piece of gossip.
“Isn’t that Bianca, the woman who’s been all over the news?”
“Married with a child and still involved with other men? Doesn’t that guy resemble the one from the recent rumors, even though we’ve only heard one side of the story?”
“Was she caught cheating that time?”
“But this man is so handsome. Why would she cheat?”
“What if he’s just good-looking?” Ashley sneered at Bianca and Dave, continuing, “Bianca is chasing after someone who can boost her status, not just a pretty face with no substance.”
She glanced pointedly at Dave as she spoke.
Dave remained composed, his handsome features unruffled, not even glancing at Ashley.
Ashley felt her efforts were futile and grew increasingly angry.
“Exactly.” A bystander chimed in suddenly. “I’ve seen on the trending searches that Bianca owes her success to her connections. Who knows how many men she’s charmed in secret?”
“She’s so unpredictable and arrogant.”
Ashley stood confidently with her arms crossed. With her words, someone was sure to take photos and share them online. Even if Bianca didn’t settle down and start a family, explaining things would be difficult.
