The Mafia's Pet

Chapter 46

Chapter 46

Diego

"Diego, why are you calling me again? Shouldn't you be enjoying your honeymoon?" Leo asked, irritation evident in his tone.

"Did the shipment arrive?" I ask, dismissing him. He repeats that question every time I call, but the knot in my stomach only loosens when I confirm that everything is running as it's supposed to.

"Yes, it appears that Viktor has backed down. Although, I did punish Ernesto for last time. Viktor should have never been able to get his hands on it in the first place."

"Perfecto (perfect)."

Leo adds, "We've been closely watching Viktor's actions since the wedding, and up to now, there haven't been any signs of suspicious movements."

I anticipated this, but now I can't find any peace, tormented by the thought that he's out there scheming for revenge instead of facing the consequences in hell where he belongs. It might sound absurd, but despite the extensive security I have placed all over the island, the fear persists that one day I'll wake up, and she'll be gone.

Every night since the wedding, she awakens screaming from nightmares. The scene of when she almost got kidnapped replays in her mind behind closed eyelids, and I instantly rush into the room, gently stroking her hair until she falls back asleep.

"I don't doubt he's plotting retaliation," I grind out through gritted teeth. The tension in my body coils tighter within me. "Not only did we kill two more of his men, but I've claimed Vanessa, and we're both still missing five million dollars. He might have momentarily retreated, but he'll resurface. We have to be prepared for it."

"I know. I'll continue to monitor him and inform you if anything changes. Now, can your stubborn ass let me do the job you entrusted to me, and go enjoy your time with your wife? I've got it handled," he says before disconnecting the call.

My eyes widen in astonishment as I gaze at my phone, grappling with the audacity of Leo hanging up. A whirlwind of emotions sweeps over me, caught between a rising sense of anger and an unexpected surge of respect for his bold action.

Before I can make sense of it, Vanessa saunters into my office in a revealing white bikini that accentuates her skin tone. She begins to loosen the bottoms until I raise a finger, signaling her to halt.

"Sorry, I assumed the rules applied here too," she murmurs, a faint blush coloring her features.

"They do, but that bathing suit looks too good to take off yourself. Come here," I command, my tone assertive, leaving no room for hesitation as I beckon her towards me.

She instantly complies, positioning herself on the desk in front of me. My eyes sweep over her as I slowly tug on the strings of her bottoms until they come undone, and then I do the same to the top. I toss them aside, marveling at the naked goddess before me, wearing my collar and ring.

As a man who's always had his guard up, I never thought I'd look forward to anyone's presence. Yet, every time she steps into this room, I find myself eager for it. As if I'm searching for her light in my darkness. Even having her in my arms at night has become a cherished moment for me. She's settling into her role as my wife, no longer resenting me but accepting the circumstances and opting to make the best of it.

"How was your day?" I inquire, lightly tracing my fingers down her chest to the swell of her breasts. I hear her breath hitch, but she manages a neutral expression.

"It was alright. Aisha joined me for a swim, but Danny, as usual, stayed glued to his phone the entire time," she says, a hint of disappointment in her voice. "It would be nice if my husband could spend more time with me instead of locking himself in this office all day. I mean, who builds an office in a beach house anyway?"

I chuckle lightly. "A man burdened with a mountain of responsibilities."

She has become one of them, but she's anything but a burden.

My father's advice echoes in my mind: "Nunca bajes la guardia (never let your guard down)." I won't lower my guard, but for now, I'll let my beautiful wife be a temporary distraction from the anticipation of Viktor's next move.

I lean down and capture one of her taut nipples in my mouth, slowly swirling my tongue around it. She shuts her eyes, suppressing a moan.

Breathless, she says, "I thought we made a deal. I relax, you spend time with me. You're not holding up your end of the bargain, Mr. Reyes."

I'm not entirely certain if I know how to relax, but observing my wife exploit her newfound freedom has been enjoyable. In the three days we've been here, she's immersed herself in various activities with Danny as her bodyguard, and the women around the island have warmly embraced her. It seems she has already forged a bond with Aisha.

Next week, I intend to summon her sister here. And if my busy ass sister is available, I'll invite her as well. I want to ensure that Vanessa doesn't feel lonely. I never want her to endure that again in this life.

She's no longer anyone's prisoner. I made it clear when I handed her a brand-new phone and laptop. I've entrusted her to be a good girl, aware that privileges can be taken away. She's grown accustomed to my methods of discipline by now.

Our eyes lock in an intimate connection as I trail kisses down her stomach. "I'm sorry, Mrs. Reyes. You're right, and I want to make it up to you."

I sense her body shudder. "How are you going to do that?" she asks in a whisper.

"Like this." I spread her legs, planting her feet on the desk as I eye her bare, shaved pussy. Dipping my finger between her second pair of lips, I find that she's already fucking soaked for me.

Such a good girl.
