Chapter 241
Chapter 241
Malcolm looked at her proud face and smiled.
The three kids were so sensible that it made his heart ache.
"Laverne, you're wonderful!" Malcolm smiled and gave her a thumbs-up.
"Thank you. But why are you here? Do you want to come to my house?" Her lively voice was still clear, melodious, sweet, and pleasant.
It was only then that Malcolm realized that his daughter's voice was very pleasant to the ear!
It was not that soft, but it was a clean and pleasant voice, which showed her personality. She was straightforward and efficient.
Even her style of dressing showed how capable and tough she was.
It was a stark contrast to her mother's character.
Malcolm glanced at his own body. The clothes he wore during the day had not been changed yet, and he was now covered in stains with the smell of mango. It was very impolite to go in now.
He shook his head slightly. "Laverne, thank you. Maybe next time. But I have a request!"
Laverne smiled and nodded. "Please go ahead!" Her sweet voice was as refreshing as a spring, causing Malcolm to smile involuntarily. His heart melted.
"Laverne, if you have time, maybe you should come to my company to have fun! You can come with your brother. I know your brother too!
"And I have your brother's phone number!"
When Laverne heard this, she narrowed her eyes slightly. She felt that he was so strange because he actually invited them to his company.
But they were still children.
She thought of Jeannie's words and felt that there was something wrong.
"Sure. If you'd like to have fun with us, I'd like to visit your company. However, I want to make sure you are the CEO of the Lowe Group."
"Yes, I'm the CEO!" Malcolm nodded slightly and asked, "Laverne, how did you know?"
Laverne took a closer look at him and slightly narrowed her eyes. Her eyes revealed a crafty look, "I learned it when I was under the bed."
Malcolm was shocked.
Malcolm felt puzzled.
He thought, "What did Laverne mean?
Am I too old to understand these kids?"
"Laverne, you..."
Laverne interrupted him with a smile, "I was joking. There are a lot of magazines about you in the drawer under my grandmother's bed. I slept with my grandmother and occasionally saw them. I didn't pay attention to them before. This time, I saw you from a close distance."
Malcolm breathed a sigh of relief. It turned out that he had misunderstood her.
However, why would her grandmother collect information about him?
Was her grandmother his mother?
He believed that he definitely did not hear it wrong!
"Laverne, what are you standing there for? Hurry up and bring the seasoning back. Grandma is still cooking."
In the darkness of the night, a kind voice came over.
Malcolm was stunned. He quickly looked toward the source of the sound. The lights were a little dark, and he could vaguely see a woman standing at the door. He could not see her face clearly, and he could vaguely see her figure. Malcolm was nervous. The old woman was just like his mother!
"I gotta go!" After Laverne finished speaking, she did not wait for Malcolm to answer her and jogged away.
"Grandma, I'm here!" Laverne ran home happily.
As for Malcolm, he had been staring at the old woman at the door. No matter how hard he tried, he could not see her clearly, but her figure was very similar to his mother's.
Malcolm wondered if it was a coincidence.
Malcolm instantly felt that it was inconceivable!
Marilyn's adoptive mother was likely to be his mother.
Suddenly, Malcolm's phone rang.
After Malcolm watched them enter the house, he picked up his phone.
"Hey! Julian!"
"Malcolm, where are you? Why aren't you back yet? Have you had dinner? If you haven't eaten anything, I'll go buy you some food."
Julian asked with concern.
Malcolm said calmly, "Julian, I think I have found my mother."
"Elvira? Where is she?" Julian asked excitedly. That excited and joyful voice sounded like the singing of a clear spring in summer, making Malcolm instantly feel much better.
Malcolm glanced at Marilyn's house, then suppressed the excitement in his heart, and said unhurriedly, "Lynn's adoptive mother is very likely to be my mother!"
"Eh..." Julian felt surprised.
"Malcolm, are you out of your mind? What do you mean by that? You have to make sure," Julian teased. Malcolm always lost his rationality when it came to his mother and Carolyn.
Malcolm suddenly said coldly, "Julian, I'm the type of person who jumps to conclusions, right?"
A cold voice sounded. Julian frowned. Suddenly, he felt sad. He felt a little sorry for Malcolm.
"Malcolm, why don't you come back first?"
Malcolm thought for a moment and said, "Julian, bring a set of clean clothes and some food over. I'm in the parking lot in front of Lynn's house. Hurry up, and I'll give you half an hour." Malcolm hung up the phone after he finished.
Julian froze. He stared at the dim light in the villa.
He suddenly felt that he shouldn't have called Malcolm.
If he hadn't made this call, he could have stayed at home and slept comfortably.
But now, he was going to wait with Malcolm.
"Damn it!" Julian roared angrily and went upstairs to get Malcolm some clean clothes.
He called the familiar restaurant to order food so that he could take the food the moment he arrived. Otherwise, he wouldn't be able to arrive in half an hour.
Half an hour later, Julian arrived on time and appeared in front of Malcolm.
When Malcolm saw this, he nodded in satisfaction.
He even casually praised Julian, "You're so fast!"
When Julian heard this, he was angry.
He glared at Malcolm. "Malcolm, do you know how to express your gratitude? It's so late at night. And I have to do these things for you! Yet, you didn't say thank you but teased me."
Julian panted slightly with anger.
"You talked too much. Where are my clothes?" Malcolm asked.
"Here!" Julian stuffed the clothes into his arms.
"What about food?" Malcolm asked again.
The corners of Julian's mouth twitched. He glared fiercely at him, wanting to smash the food box in his hand onto Malcolm's body. But he didn't have the courage to do so.
"Malcolm, are you blind? Are you really going to eat in the car?"
Malcolm asked doubtfully, "Is there any seat for me to sit down while eating?"
Julian sneered.
He pointed to the right side of Malcolm, "Malcolm, there is a park over there. There are benches in the park and tables in the pavilion. You'll feel better eating here. If you eat in the car, there will be a bad smell in the car.
"And there is a better choice."
Julian pointed at Marilyn's house. "It's more convenient to eat at Marilyn's home."
