Destined by One Night: The CEO's Pursuit

Chapter 168

Chapter 168

Julian ran desperately into the parking lot.

Malcolm chased after him.

Seeing that there was no way to escape, Julian stood by the car and took a deep breath. "Malcolm, you can't blame me for this. I was helping you."

Malcolm stood in the distance, breathing heavily. After a while, he smiled slyly and said, "Julian, you're right. I am really something. If you're capable, you can be as powerful as me. Three children at a time. Moreover, it happens naturally."

Julian twitched at the corner of his mouth. He didn't expect that Malcolm would compete with him in this.

However, indeed he did not have such confidence.

But why didn't Malcolm blame him for pouring water all over his body?

Julian instantly became overjoyed.

"Stop! Don't brag in front of me. Be careful that I will make you incapable for the rest of your life." Julian narrowed his eyes and warned.

Malcolm seemed to not care about Julian's threat as well as his wet clothes.

His black eyes suddenly darkened as he said faintly, "Julian, Lynn has moved. Come with me to the mall later and pick some gifts for her."

Julian nodded, but he glanced at Malcolm. "I'm afraid she won't take it if it's expensive."

Malcolm whispered, "I know. Just buy some simple ones."

As he spoke, he glanced at himself and shouted angrily, "Come back with me to change." He didn't blame Julian just because he was happy today.

Julian could only nod and follow him.

He suddenly realized something. "But I don't know where her house is."

"You have Lynn's Line and her phone number. You are not dumb. Why don't you call and ask?" Malcolm looked at him with disdain.

"Yes! Why am I so stupid?" Julian also looked down on himself.

He suddenly looked at Malcolm proudly, "Malcolm, Marilyn will take it if I give the gift to her for you. But I'm afraid she wouldn't even answer the phone if it were you."

Malcolm's deep eyes suddenly showed pain when he heard this.

The corners of his lips were tightly pursed, and his cold and hard features revealed a fierce pressure. Now he was angry and in pain.

He could only stay away from Lynn for the sake of the safety of her and Arturo as well as for the happy ending he wanted. He had to be determined and secretly protect them while waiting for the happy day to come.

He had always believed that Marilyn was his.

Julian did not dare to speak when finding that he had crossed Malcolm's bottom line.

He was not a villain, who would rub salt on Malcolm's wounds.

He felt that life was not that interesting without Jeannie.

He signed.

He wished that her boyfriend would cheat on her and then he could get a chance. After all, he fell in love with her at first sight!

Not far away, Velma watched with cold eyes as Malcolm and Julian returned to the office.

She was confused by Malcolm's wet clothes. What was wrong with him?

She lowered her head and glanced at a hair in her hand.

Now she couldn't do things as she and Sandy had planned.

The hair in her hand was from Marilyn. She left it in the bathroom when she tidied her hair.

It took her several days to follow Marilyn in order to get this hair.

A trace of malice flashed through her gloomy eyes. She thought, "Marilyn, if it was you, I would make your days restless."

She put away the hair and took a few steps before her phone rang.

She took it out and glanced at the number. She frowned but still answered it after a while.

"Hello!"

"Velma, bad news." A man's anxious voice came from the other side.

"What's wrong?" Velma felt a little uneasy.

"Velma, you've really brought disaster to me this time. My news agency was first attacked by a virus, and now it's shut down. Velma, didn't you say that nothing would happen?"

Velma did not expect that Malcolm's men would be so fast and found it out.

Fortunately, she let Sandy, that idiot, do it. Otherwise, she would be the one driven out of the Lowe Group.

"Velma, are you still listening?"

"Oh, yes, I'm listening. I'm sorry, uncle. I didn't expect that things would become like this." Velma said, but there was no guilt on her face!

"Velma, saying sorry won't solve anything. The point is you promised that nothing would happen.

"You shouldn't do that. In this city, who would dare to report about Malcolm? You were deliberately looking for trouble for me.

"You are living a good life in the Remington family now, but what about us?"

Velma frowned as she listened to the other side.

It was his uncle. His family was greedy. He now relied on her like a parasite just because he had no choice.

"Uncle, don't forget that the capital of the newsagent was from me," Velma said in a low voice. She did not expect that Malcolm would care about Marilyn so much.

"Velma, you are right. But remember how you got into the Remington family..."

"Uncle, enough. You are not my real uncle. So don't keep mentioning this matter. I will go to the bank tomorrow and wire you a sum of money. You can live with that money. As for opening a newspaper. I will think of another way for you." Velma interrupted him angrily.

The only thing that could ask him to shut up was money.

"Alright! Velma, since that is the case, I will be at ease. Then I will wait for your good news."

The other party quickly hung up.

Velma felt uneasy as she walked out of the company.

As for Hugo, he still came over every day after work to pick up Velma.

Sergio got off work late. He looked at Velma's back thoughtfully.

But he didn't think much about it when he saw that she got into Hugo's car and Terence was there to pick him up. Terence and he had decided to have dinner together.

He took elegant steps and walked out against the sunset.

Marilyn and Laverne returned to their new house.

The house here was the same as before. They didn't renovate its surface.

The decoration inside was also very good, so Marilyn just bought some furniture.

After buying the house, she did not have much money left.

She could only settle for it.

Moreover, she liked the style of the house.

As soon as she entered, Marilyn smelled the smell of fried chicken.

Dominic got up and greeted them with a smile when he saw his mother and sister coming back.

"Mom, Laverne, you're back."

Laverne coldly snorted at him. She didn't talk to him but directly walked into the kitchen.

Dominic touched his nose. Why was this little girl so vengeful?

She was still angry with him?

Marilyn took off her shoes and looked at Dominic with a smile, "Dominic, did you annoy Laverne again when she came back? It's been several days. Why is she still mad at you?"

Dominic shook his head helplessly and said with a smile, "Mom, you also know Laverne well. She hates people saying that she's ugly the most. And I said that to her. So I'm afraid she'll only be able to calm down after about half a month."

"Dominic, you'll have to suffer during this period," Marilyn said with a sly smile.

Dominic glanced in the direction of the kitchen, a sly look flashing in his calm eyes, "Mom, don't worry. I know how to deal with her."
