Chapter 65
Chapter 65
"Yes!" Marilyn nodded, thinking that she was reluctant to have anything to do with him.
Malcolm looked at her and smiled slyly. "I am not interested in married women." But he was interested in Marilyn.
Malcolm did not say his real thoughts.
When Marilyn heard this, she instantly breathed a sigh of relief.
Just then, the elevator door opened.
However, Malcolm still held Marilyn's hand.
The moment the elevator door opened, Malcolm first saw the people outside the elevator.
He quickly let go of Marilyn's hand and naturally put his hand into his pocket.
Malcolm instantly turned cold.
Marilyn was shocked by his change. She was about to look up when she suddenly saw a man and a woman standing outside the elevator. The woman had an enchanting figure and was very beautiful, wearing a tight black skirt that completely accentuated her exquisite figure. This woman was noble and cold.
The man behind her was thin and handsome. He had a pair of sharp eyebrows that were thick and dark, which was the most eye-catching feature of his handsome face.
They were Hugo and his mother, Yvonne.
"Malcolm, are you going out?" Yvonne smiled and asked.
"Are you two going to the wrong place? Can't you even distinguish between the Guillvonne Group and the Lowe Group? Or are you blind?" Malcolm's tone was cold, mocking, and emotionless.
His ice-cold aura spread out in all directions.
Marilyn was shocked. Malcolm could frighten anyone timid.
When Yvonne and Hugo heard his emotionless words, their faces instantly turned sullen. In particular, Yvonne was drowned by a huge wave of anger.
"Malcolm, watch your language. No matter what, my mother is your stepmother. You can't treat your elder so impolitely." Hugo said angrily. His cold and angry eyes suddenly fell on the unruly Malcolm.
When Malcolm and Hugo met, they never spoke a single word of friendliness. They would either quarrel or glare at each other.
Mostly they didn't get on well, because Malcolm always made Hugo and Yvonne awkward.
"Elder?" Malcolm's gaze landed on Yvonne, and he withdrew it quickly. He coldly spat out a few words, "Does she deserve it?"
Yvonne did not argue with Malcolm. She had heard such a tone dozens of times and she was already used to it.
Yvonne glanced at Marilyn and smiled, "Are you Ms. Chapman? I've heard a lot about you. I heard from Velma that you impressed Mr. Lowe. I was very curious about you, so I couldn't wait to come over and meet you.
"I wonder what woman can make Malcolm change so much?" Yvonne said with a smile, ignoring Malcolm's anger and coldness.
Some things, if someone got used to it, were no longer scary.
Yvonne was used to Malcolm's anger.
Therefore, Yvonne successfully chased Malcolm out of the Lowe's.
When Marilyn heard Yvonne's words, she raised her eyebrows slightly. She looked coldly at Yvonne.
Marilyn didn't know Yvonne's identity before. After knowing it, she had more or less heard of the relationship between Malcolm and Yvonne.
Malcolm was not on good terms with his stepmother. And he had moved out to live alone.
It seemed that Velma had fanned the flames a lot in front of Yvonne.
Yvonne came today to cause trouble.
Debbie left and Yvonne came. Marilyn signed that she had bad luck.
However, marriage was the best choice for the Remington and the Lowe family.
Marilyn gave a faint smile and calmly faced Yvonne. "Mrs. Lowe, you must be joking. Mr. Lowe is impressed by my work, not me."
Yvonne's smile was sly. She carefully sized up Marilyn, thinking Marilyn was special. She had to admit that Marilyn had an innocent and beautiful little face. Marilyn's eyes were bright and clear. With just a glance, no one could forget it.
Yvonne realized that Malcolm liked such a woman.
At the very least, Marilyn was much better than Velma. Yvonne had changed her mind today, so she came to see Malcolm.
At the dinner tonight, Yvonne would let Velma become Malcolm's woman.
Yvonne curled her lips coldly and looked at Marilyn with a mocking gaze. She thought, "Look at her clothes. What a shabby woman. How can Malcolm actually take her to the banquet tonight?
It seemed that tonight's banquet would be very lively."
Marilyn's expression did not change as she looked at Yvonne without fear.
Yvonne looked away calmly. She looked at Malcolm strangely, her sharp voice full of ridicule. "Malcolm, it seems that she is your female companion tonight? Ms. Chapman, you are fortunate. You are Malcolm's first female companion."
When Marilyn heard this, she scoffed as she thought, "Fortunate? Forget it. We're in a modern time. It sounds like I was like a blessed ancient concubine."
Malcolm narrowed his eyes dangerously and said coldly, "It seems that you care a lot about who my female companion is."
Yvonne gave a strange smile. "Malcolm, all these years, you have never brought a female companion to the banquet. All of a sudden, you said that you would bring one. I was just curious about who it was and came to take a look."
When Marilyn heard this, she suddenly felt that she had fallen into a war for the interests of a family.
Moreover, she might be in a dilemma.
"Since you have reached your goal, go back. This is my place. Not anyone can come here." Malcolm's words were cold and merciless.
"Malcolm, you..."
"Hugo." Yvonne quickly interrupted the angry Hugo and blinked her eyes at him.
Hugo looked at Yvonne's eyes and suppressed the anger in his heart. He glared at Malcolm in a huff and left.
Yvonne looked at Marilyn and curled her lips. That smile was somewhat mocking and sneering.
Marilyn looked at Yvonne's smile and frowned. She had a bad feeling.
Seeing Yvonne and Hugo walking away, Malcolm looked at Marilyn and asked with an evil smile, "Lynn, are you afraid?"
Afraid?
Marilyn glanced sideways at him. She thought she might be afraid six years ago.
What she feared was losing the family that made her feel warm and comfortable.
Now, that family had no meaning to Marilyn anymore.
That night seven years ago, Marilyn had suffered a great blow.
After the car accident, Marilyn seemed to have been reborn, being herself.
She was not afraid of anyone.
Marilyn smiled slightly. Her starry eyes were bright and her brows were curved. Her expression was composed as she said, "Mr. Lowe, are you joking? Why should I be afraid?"
Marilyn didn't do anything guilty. As for the relationship with Malcolm, they were just a subordinate and a boss. Why should she be afraid?
Malcolm looked at her and smiled strangely. "Lynn, I'm glad to hear that. Let's go!"
He strode out of the room.
Marilyn looked at his tall and noble back. Thinking of his strange smile just now, she felt quite uneasy. Why did she feel like she had been tricked by Malcolm?
