Chapter 63
Chapter 63
When Malcolm heard Debbie's words, he understood why Marilyn had suddenly distanced herself from him.
"Mrs. Remington, you misunderstood..."
"Misunderstood?" Debbie suddenly sneered and interrupted Marilyn. She looked at Marilyn gloomily.
Step by step, Debbie approached Marilyn. She looked at Marilyn condescendingly and sneered. "I only believe what I see. You are seducing Malcolm!"
Hearing this, Marilyn lowered her head. Marilyn wanted to stay away from Malcolm, however, coincidences always happened.
Malcolm suddenly looked colder and more domineering. The atmosphere around became more oppressive.
"Mrs. Remington, please pay attention to your words. This is between me and Ms. Chapman. It's not something you should meddle in." Malcolm's cold voice was like a knife, sharp and cold.
Debbie frowned and looked at Malcolm in disbelief. This was the first time Malcolm had spoken to her like this in so many years.
And it was for a woman!
Velma, on the other hand, was overwhelmed by fear and nervousness.
Every time Malcolm was angry, Velma could not bear it.
Even Marilyn felt it hard to breathe in the oppressive atmosphere.
Marilyn also felt the strangeness of this atmosphere.
Marilyn tried to break free from Malcolm's hand, but Malcolm held her hand tightly.
Moreover, Malcolm grabbed Marilyn tighter!
Didn't Malcolm know what he did would bring Marilyn a lot of trouble?
Both Debbie and Velma wished to cut Marilyn into pieces.
Marilyn glared at Malcolm and had no idea why Malcolm did this.
Malcolm ignored Marilyn and still looked at Debbie gloomily. If Debbie knew that Marilyn, who was standing in front of her, was probably her daughter, would she still say this?
Malcolm had always had a lot of complaints about Debbie. It was Debbie who had let Velma replace Carolyn.
It was also Debbie who brought Velma, the woman with ulterior motives back.
Moreover, not long after Carolyn was lost, Debbie adopted Velma. To put it nicely, it was to ease the feelings of missing her daughter. To put it bluntly, Debbie adopted Velma for the sake of her family's benefit.
Under Malcolm's gaze, Debbie gradually came back to her senses. She saw the two of them were still holding hands and suddenly became angry again. She said harshly, "Malcolm, are you treating me like this for a woman? Don't forget, your fiancée is Velma.
"Your other half should be Velma, not this woman."
Velma looked up at Malcolm in a daze. Her bright eyes were full of pain as she looked at Malcolm, as if he had cheated on her.
Malcolm looked at Debbie and smiled lightly. He was outstanding and was born with a unique charm. He could be the center of attention easily and put everything else to shame.
"Mrs. Remington, how many times do I have to tell you before you can remember? My fiancée is Carolyn, not Velma.
"You know very well why I respect you."
Velma felt that her heart was instantly smashed into pieces. Carolyn was the only one Malcolm cared about although she was dead.
Velma was standing right in front of Malcolm, but Malcolm turned a blind eye.
When Debbie heard her daughter's name again, she welled up.
Marilyn looked at Malcolm in surprise and thought, "Since he has a fiancée, why would he hit on me?
Or does he want to use me against Velma?
If that's the case, we will be enemies forever!"
Tears welled up in Debbie's eyes as Debbie looked at Malcolm, her voice choked with sobs. "Malcolm, you know that..."
"Mrs. Remington, don't talk about it anymore. I don't want to hear about it again." Malcolm cut off Debbie's words in an instant.
Then, Malcolm grabbed Marilyn and left.
Malcolm walked very quickly, and Marilyn was somewhat unable to keep up with his footsteps. She could not struggle free, so she trotted.
Velma looked at the back of the two people who were leaving, and her face was vicious. Marilyn, the bitch, dared to seduce Malcolm.
Debbie's face darkened and she held back her tears.
Debbie had wanted to give up and find Velma another man since Malcolm did not like Velma.
However, seeing that Malcolm and Marilyn were together, Debbie changed her mind again.
Debbie wanted Malcolm to owe the Remington family a favor. Malcolm would get married anyway, so Debbie wanted him to marry Velma. It was also a wish that Debbie wanted to fulfill.
However, Malcolm was independent and didn't buy it.
"Mom, are you alright?" Velma looked at Debbie with concern.
Debbie felt sorry for Carolyn and could never let Carolyn go.
Velma still could not be a part of the Remington family completely.
Carolyn was a very lovable little girl. In these years in the Remington family, the Remingtons always mentioned Carolyn in front of Velma.
Velma was a quiet girl, sometimes even a little stiff.
Velma was being good because she wanted the Remingtons to like her.
Debbie was nice to her.
But the rest of the people were indifferent.
However, they bought Velma everything that other young ladies had.
"Velma, I'm fine. Let's go back!" Debbie was very sad.
Every time Debbie remembered Carolyn, it would take her two or three days to recover.
That would be Debbie's scar for the rest of her life. To Debbie, mentioning Carolyn was like rubbing salt into her wound.
"Mom, what about the thing we have to talk to Malcolm about..."
"Maybe another day! You saw it today. Malcolm won't listen to whatever you say. He's very stubborn."
Debbie interrupted Velma. Debbie was not in a good mood now. She would feel worse if she saw Malcolm and Marilyn.
If Carolyn had not chased after Malcolm that night, she would not have disappeared.
Carolyn was Debbie's most considerate daughter, sensible, beautiful, and knew how to say sweet words. Even when Debbie was very tired after work, she would recover immediately when she saw Carolyn's sweet little face and took the water Lynn handed over.
The Remington family was not poor. Carolyn lived like a princess but was not pampered or weak. Carolyn could take care of herself.
Carolyn was considerate at a young age. She was more sensible than Debbie's two sons, and Debbie liked Carolyn a lot.
