Chapter 48
Chapter 48
"Ms. Harrison, do you have to leave today?" Julian put down the teacup and looked at Jeannie, asking.
"Yes. Arturo has an event tomorrow morning. Time is tight. I have to put aside the other artists and deal with Arturo's matter first. We can't stay here any longer." Jeannie explained unhurriedly. If she had not received a call from the Lowe Group, they would have left last night.
"Ms. Chapman, you have a great son!" Julian said with a face full of envy.
If Arturo was really Malcolm's son, it would be the best.
Malcolm was very lonely. If he could have a son, he would finally enjoy some happiness in his bitter life.
Marilyn smiled and did not speak.
All her three kids were great.
"Julian, send Ms. Harrison and Arturo to the airport later!" Malcolm instructed.
Malcolm did not have the chance to take Arturo's hair, but Julian had.
"Alright!"
"Thanks, but no!"
Julian and Jeannie spoke at the same time.
The two looked at each other at the same time. Julian chuckled, his eyes full of smiles.
Jeannie looked away expressionlessly.
Julian smiled and said, "Ms. Harrison, let me send you. We are working together now. It's my duty to send you to the airport."
Jeannie didn't insist since she saw that Julian was insistent. Taking a taxi was costly. Since there was a free ride, she didn't need to waste it.
"Alright, then we'll leave after the meal! We can't be late." Jeannie was straightforward, so she freely agreed.
Julian suddenly chuckled. If he won Jeannie's favor before she got married, he would have a chance to be with Jeannie.
Life was too short.
A man should never let go of a loved one.
"Don't worry, I will send you to the airport on time." Julian's elegant smile was very charming. He looked deeply at Jeannie as if he wanted to see through her.
Coincidentally, Jeannie just didn't like this look.
Through Julian's gaze, Jeannie wondered if Julian intended to flirt with her.
In Jeannie's heart, it didn't mean that Julian was serious about pursuing her.
But in Marilyn's eyes, she saw a hint of seriousness in Julian's look.
Jeannie nodded and didn't speak.
"Marilyn, I want to eat fish balls and fish rolls." Arturo was short, and the table was too high for him. Arturo knew it was not polite to stand up while other people were having meals, so he simply let Marilyn give the food to him.
"Alright!" Marilyn was about to pick up the spoon to fish balls when Jeannie picked up the spoon and glanced at Arturo. Jeannie said aggrievedly, "Arturo, I'm right beside you. You ignore me and ask Marilyn to help you. Aren't you deliberately angering me?"
Arturo chuckled. On his handsome little face, his star-like eyes were smiling brightly. "You are wearing white clothes today. I'm worried that the oil stains will splash on your clothes."
When Jeannie heard this, she was touched. She thought Arturo was such a thoughtful boy. Jeannie's voice was tender and cute. "Oh! Baby, you are so sweet and considerate. Okay. Let Marilyn bring the food for you."
Marilyn also smiled and picked up the bowl in front of her. She scooped up some of the meatballs for each taste and placed them on Arturo's plate.
"Thank you, Marilyn!" After Arturo said that, he lowered his head and ate happily.
As Malcolm watched, he couldn't help but smile.
Malcolm was looking forward to knowing the result of the DNA paternity test. Malcolm had been a steady man and had never expected something so much. But he wanted to know the result immediately.
Malcolm had been carefully observing Arturo and he noticed that Arturo was similar to him in many ways.
As Malcolm thought of this, the smile on his face widened.
Then Malcolm turned to Marilyn, who was eating gracefully. Marilyn always had a faint smile on her face, which gave people an impulse to get close to her, but they would also feel that they wouldn't make it.
Malcolm could not suppress the joy, and even Sergio and Julian noticed it.
During the meal, everyone surrounded Arturo and chatted and laughed, having a good time.
This was the first time Malcolm had attended a lunch party. He had a wonderful time and thought that everyone was very sincere.
Malcolm found that he didn't need to hide his true feelings deliberately and that he could just be himself.
After lunch, Julian was going to send Arturo and Jeannie to the airport.
Malcolm sent Julian a Line message when Julian went to pick up his car.
Julian, who had just started the car, heard a message notification sound. He quickly picked up his phone to take a look.
"Julian, find an opportunity to get Arturo's hair."
A smile lit up Julian's face. He knew that Malcolm couldn't wait.
This was the first time Julian had seen Malcolm so impatient since they became friends.
Julian drove out of the parking lot smoothly, picked up Arturo and Jeannie, and drove to the airport.
Marilyn, Sergio, and Malcolm returned to the company.
However, not far from the restaurant, they met Sandra and Margie. Besides, the eldest son of the Chambers family, Brandon, was also with them.
"Mr. Lowe, what a coincidence!" Brandon said with a smile.
Malcolm just nodded, his face indifferent.
Brandon was dressed in a tailored black suit. He looked like his father. With deep-set eyebrows, a round face, and delicate facial features, he was quite handsome.
However, Marilyn knew that her step-brother was a jerk.
When Brandon was in college, he dated several girls at the same time.
Brandon even got some girl pregnant and Margie settled it with money.
"Mr. Lowe, you are really nice to this new director of your company. I have never seen you bring Hannah out for a meal before." After Margie finished speaking, she even looked at Marilyn with a scheming and snobbish look.
Marilyn smiled as she calmly looked Margie in the eye.
Malcolm pursed his lips coldly. His face turned sullen. He glanced at Margie coldly, and then slowly retracted his gaze. His voice was emotionless. "Mrs. Chambers, do I have to call you and tell you who I have lunch with today?
"Even if I have special care for Ms. Chapman, what does it have to do with you?"
If Marilyn was really Lynn, Malcolm would never forgive what the Chambers family did to Lynn.
Margie was somewhat embarrassed as she stood rooted to the ground.
Margie knew that Malcolm did not care about others' feelings. But she had no idea that Malcolm would make her lose face.
"Mr. Lowe, that's not what my mother meant. Don't take it to heart." Sandra smiled and came to the rescue.
Obviously, Malcolm just ignored that as he did not even look at Sandra.
Sergio stood at the side with his hands crossed over his chest, watching the show leisurely.
Marilyn was about to say something when Malcolm glanced at her out of the corner of his eye. Suddenly, Malcolm opened his lips again. His gaze was very cold, but his voice was neither fast nor slow. "I have a question. Actually, I've wanted to ask you, Mrs. Chambers, if you have any opinions about Ms. Chapman.
"Why do you always make insinuations when you see Ms. Chapman? If Hannah was here today, aren't you deliberately sowing discord?"
Malcolm's accusation almost made Margie lose her breath.
