Destined by One Night: The CEO's Pursuit

Chapter 28

Chapter 28

Hearing Malcolm's angry voice, Julian's eyes drummed. Julian knew that Malcolm would be angry.

Julian's nose wrinkled slightly, and his nose moved slightly. He moved his lips, thinking about where to start.

Julian's expressions looked weird and he didn't speak at all. Malcolm started to believe that Julian had kept him waiting the whole day for nothing.

Having thought of this, Malcolm's face became more and more gloomy. A cold aura surrounded him.

Malcolm took a few steps towards Julian. Malcolm looked cold and intimidating.

Julian subconsciously took a few steps back.

Yet Julian accidentally fell on the steps to the entrance.

Julian scrambled to his feet and looked at Malcolm defensively.

Julian was afraid that the furious Malcolm would tear him to pieces.

"Are you mute?" Malcolm looked at Julian. It was hard to tell whether Julian was afraid of Malcolm or if he was joking around. Malcolm's voice spread out in his luxurious big living room.

Julian sniffed and curled his lips, planning to tell Malcolm everything regardless of the consequences.

Julian glanced at the gloomy Malcolm, pursed his lips, gritted his teeth, and said, "Malcolm, you can't blame me for this. Today, I've gone out of my way to enter the Chambers family. I chatted with Sandra for a long time, but I failed to get any information about Marilyn Chambers from Sandra.

"Sandra only said that Marilyn was her sister. Seven years ago, Marilyn left because of something.

"I took advantage of Sandra's absence while she was in the toilet and showed myself around the Chambers' place. But I couldn't find any photos of Marilyn. As for the orphanage that adopted Marilyn, I found no adoption record.

"In the end, I went to Marilyn's university. She majored in design. I pulled some strings and managed to have Marilyn's teacher bring up Marilyn's profile. This was a photo of Marilyn Chambers when she was in university."

After Julian finished speaking, he handed Malcolm a seven-inch photo of Marilyn when she was in university.

Malcolm quickly took it over. The woman in the photo had a faint smile on her face. She was very beautiful and loveable. Her expression was somewhat similar to little Carolyn's. Malcolm said in shock, "Marilyn Chapman is Marilyn Chambers!"

Julian looked at Malcolm's expression and pursed his lips. Malcolm swallowed a mouthful of saliva. This news was really explosive. It had finally dispelled most of the anger of Malcolm.

Upon seeing Malcolm angry, Julian felt that the entire world was darkened.

Only then did Julian feel at ease. Julian walked over to the table and sat down. He poured himself a cup of water and drank it to moisten his dry lips. Julian calmly said, "Malcolm, I didn't pick up your calls because I was trying to get close to Sandra at that time. To investigate Marilyn, I made sacrifices. Sandra's perverted hands had taken advantage of me several times."

Malcolm also sat on the opposite side of Julian while holding Marilyn's photo.

Malcolm quietly waited for what Julian was about to say next.

Julian observed Malcolm's look and saw that the anger on his face had disappeared a little. Julian felt a bit relieved.

Things weren't easy for Julian.

Malcolm was supposed to be Julian's buddy, yet Julian couldn't stop worrying about Julian all the time. If Julian kept on worrying about Malcolm, he would age quickly and lose his beauty.

Julian was still single. He had to save his beauty so that he could earn himself a pretty wife who would bear his babies.

Julian's mother kept nagging about his marriage every day.

Yet Julian hadn't met the love of his life.

Malcolm frowned, raised his chin, and asked with displeasure, "That's all you've got?"

Malcolm needed more information about Marilyn. Marilyn's reaction during the breakfast made Malcolm believe that Marilyn was Carolyn.

Julian rubbed his chin and looked at Malcolm. Julian smiled mischievously and said, "Nope, I haven't finished yet. Can't you let me catch my breath first?"

Malcolm quickly picked up the remote control and threw it at Julian.

When Julian saw Malcolm moving, there was a subtle flash in his eyes. He thought, "How moody!" Julian tilted his head and dodged the remote control. He reached out and grabbed it.

It was just that the following news was even more explosive. Julian was afraid that Malcolm would not be able to accept it, so Julian decided to wait for Malcolm to calm down a little before telling him.

Malcolm scratched his hair in frustration and shouted, "Then why don't you say it?" Malcolm couldn't believe that Julian was still taking his time while Malcolm was already scratching his head in anxiety.

Malcolm always had a poker face. Only Carolyn could make Malcolm get heated. She had already been an indispensable part of Malcolm's life.

Julian narrowed his eyes slightly and confirmed again, "Malcolm, you really want to hear it?"

Malcolm rubbed his messy hair again. On his perfect and handsome face, there was coldness. His deep and gorgeous eyes seemed to freeze.

"Julian, if you continue to be like this, we won't be friends anymore." At that moment, he really wanted to kick Julian away. Malcolm had never had any peace the whole day.

Julian shrugged in fear. He did not doubt what Malcolm said at all.

Julian only doubted his own life. In his life, how did he become friends with such a moody guy?

Julian smiled playfully, looking evil yet attractive.

At that moment, Julian was a sharp contrast to the agitated Malcolm.

Looking at Malcolm's furious expression, Julian couldn't feel any better.

It had been a long time since Julian had seen Malcolm like this. It had always been Julian who had been oppressed by Malcolm.

Julian finally had his revenge.

Just as Malcolm was about to lose his patience, Julian took the time to say, "Seven years ago, weren't you investigating who that woman was?"

Malcolm felt a sudden nervousness. He then gazed at Julian. His dead-black eyes were like bottomless abysses, emitting an unfathomable light. They looked a bit mysterious.

"Who was it?" Malcolm's voice couldn't help but tremble. His thin lips were tightly pursed together, forming a cold arc.

Julian's eyes flashed as he pointed at the photo in Malcolm's hand.

Malcolm's hand held the photo more tightly.

"It was Marilyn. As you know, Mr. Hamilton is a weirdo. He has a lot of lovers and he's such a scumbag. He requires that all the women he works with should be virgins. All the women he sleeps with should be virgins. I've looked into that before. The one for you was not a real virgin and she ended up in Mr. Hamilton's room. While the one you pulled into your room was Marilyn. She was a real virgin.

"After Marilyn found out that she had been set up by the Chambers family, she left the Chambers family in anger.

"I found a servant of the Chambers family back then and paid her to talk.

"Of course, the Chambers family hadn't found Marilyn all these years. It turned out that Marilyn had hidden in Goldmere."

Julian was shocked about what he had found out as well.

Although Marilyn was an adopted daughter, the Chambers family had gone way too far for their own benefit. It was simply too inhumane.
