The Unwanted Mate

Chapter 97

Chapter 97

Evelyn looked at the pups playing with their dad. They were jumping on the big black wolf and tumbling down as Keiran was so much bigger than them.

Any grown wolf would think twice before walking towards the alpha wolf because Keiran naturally looked so intimidating. So it was amusing to see the little pups playing with him.

Keiran tried his best not to hurt the pups. He was very delicate with them.

The pups had identical black furs just like their dad. They were both alphas and very playful.

Evelyn gave birth to the twins two and a half years ago. They weren't identical twins but in their wolf form, it was difficult to tell them apart. The only thing that was different in their wolf form was their eyes. One had glowing red while the other had dark viridian.

They were having a picnic outside. The pups turned into their wolf form as soon as they saw the tree line. They weren't old enough to control their shifting so they involuntarily shift into their wolves whenever they're too excited, scared, or sick.

Evelyn couldn't help but smile as she watched Keiran lick the pups and nudged them softly. He was very protective of his pups.

Right after the day when he learned Evelyn was pregnant, he ordered the house to be baby-proof. He made sure the omega had everything she wanted and craved. He bought all the healthy stuff for her and religiously read every book there is about pregnancy.

It was funny to watch the alpha go haywire every time Evelyn felt any discomfort.

He tried to spend time with her as much as he could so he wouldn't miss the first kick of his pups.

Keiran used to read her stories and talk to the babies in the tummy saying that they should remember his voice when they come out.

After the boys were born, the alpha went out to buy everything for them. He handpicked the best of the best for his pups.

He would stay with his pups as much as he could. They loved it when he shifted into his wolf form so Evelyn often found Keiran in their bedroom floor in his wolf form with their pups snuggling cozily up against him. It was a heartwarming sight and she didn't forget to take pictures of it every time she saw it.

It was difficult to choose names for the boys. Scarlett insisted that both of them should have names that scream royalty and power. She loved her grandkids dearly and wanted them to be amazing alphas in the future.

Keiran and Evelyn then decided to name them Andrian and Aron. They decided the eldest son's middle name to be Joshua in the memory of Josh.

Keiran played with the pups for a little bit more, letting them nip at his ears and tail. They wanted him to chase them but he couldn't easily get ahead of them in two steps so Evelyn laughed as the alpha ran in a zigzag motion to let his pups run as far away from him so he could chase them.

It was endearing to watch the big alpha act hurt and whimper at his pups' soft bites. He loved it when his pups stopped their biting and licked him to soothe the pain.

After some time, he picked up the energetic pups and brought them to their mother. It was their time to eat. He licked his mate's cheek playfully before walking away towards the treeline to shift back and get dressed.

The pups shifted into their human form when they smelled the food. They knew their mother wouldn't let them eat anything other than milk in their wolf form because they always made a mess.

Pups can't shift whenever they want to so it took some time for the little ones to change back.

Evelyn quickly dressed them in their onesies when they were finally in their human form.

Keiran came back and planted a kiss on his mate's lips.

"Papa! Kissies fou us too!" The youngest one said, making grabby hands.

"Of course, baby!" Keiran didn't wait any longer to plant a kiss on both of their foreheads.

"Momma, I'm hungry…" Andrian said, cutely patting his tummy.

Evelyn cooed at the adorable sight before taking out the fruits and pies from the basket.

"Yesh! Piesh! Love piesh!" Aron clapped happily.

"I know my baby loves it," Evelyn kissed his cheeks before giving him a piece.

Andrian made his way to sit on Evelyn's lap as he got his share of the pie. That was his favorite spot.

Andrian is silent compared to Aron who's talking almost all the time. He likes to play and do daring things but he doesn't like to make much noise. Keiran says he got that quality from Evelyn.

Andrian played with Evelyn's long golden locks as he ate his pie. "Momma always sho pretty," He said, making Evelyn giggle.

Keiran chuckled. "What about papa, baby?"

"Papa srong an-and big…" He said while nodding cutely.

"And warm! Papa fur sho warm!" Aron added excitedly.

Keiran couldn't help but grin wide as his hands wrapped around his mate. "They're so precious. I think my heart is going to burst," He said, snuggling into the crook of her neck.

Evelyn laughed, softly caressing his mate's cheeks. "We have the best pups in the world," The omega nodded.

"Eating pies without sharing? Not fair," They all turned around when they heard a familiar omega's voice.

"Uncle Rain! Come! Momma has pwenty of pies!" Aron invited happily.

Rain couldn't help but kiss the boy's cheeks. He was weak to cuteness.

"Where were you two going?" Keiran asked.

"We were going out for a walk then we saw. Thought we should say hi," Calvin shrugged as he crouched down. "Hey, little guys, enjoying the picnic?"

Andrian nodded. "Yesh, we played a lot,"

"Papa, pwayed with us too!" Aron added happily.

"That's awesome. Next time play with uncles too, okay?"

"Otay!"

Calvin and Rain walked away after a few minutes of chatting. The beta loved to go on runs and walks with his mate. He loved to spend time with the little omega.

Every time he had the chance he would gush about how amazing Rain is.

It amused the warriors to see Calvin change like that because they all remember how he bullied the omega. Mate bonds really change people and their mindset.

The alpha and the beta are living examples of that.

Evelyn smiled looking at her mate and their kids. Years ago she thought she'd never experience something like this.

She thought she was born to suffer and hide.

A child and wolf rejected by everything and everyone.

An unwanted creature.

Never did she think she was going to be a brave warrior who'll fight and save people.

If only she could talk to the Evelyn in the past, she would assure the girl that she's not unwanted.

She would tell her that when she's going to grow up, she's going to forget that lonely feeling.

Because now, Evelyn doesn't remember how it used to be alone. She doesn't remember the cold lonely feeling. She has her own family.

It's the best thing she could have.

A precious treasure.

A gift from the goddess for all her sufferings.

And she'll cherish them till the end.
