Selene: The Vampire’s Love Affair

Chapter 20

Chapter 20

SELENE

Today is definitely my happiest day regaining everything I’ve lost. I am now married to the father of my child, the actor I’ve served for as long as I could recall and the vampire I’ve loved.

“You may kiss the bride,” The vampire high priest said and Leo and I turned to each other. He slowly removes the veil on my face.

“You are so beautiful, Selene.” A blush escaped my face as he lowered his face. We closed our eyes and I soon felt his lips connect with mine. My ears ring with applause from the guests.

“Everything ends now!” A telepathic message entered my mind when we broke the kiss. I turn and face the crowd hiding any sign of discomfort. Who said that?!

The doors suddenly opened, breaking the walls taking everyone’s attention.

“Sorry I’m late to kill you, my lady.”

The guards rushed near the door but they went flying to different directions.

“How rude!”

“What do you want, Lady Jane von Klein?!” Leo stood in front of me covering me as I could only hear footsteps coming in towards us.

“I think I will mention it, Leo. I want the queen’s life and let’s say... I’m about to take you away from her and back to me.” Jane chuckled.

“You’re out of your mind Jane. I’m married to her now and nothing you do will separate us!” Leo yelled and there was some commotion in the crowd starting up.

“How very... Endearing... But I get what I want Leo... That hasn’t changed.” I heard blades being taken off their sheaths and more guards appeared. “This is absurd!” She screamed and a heavy gush of wind pushed everyone to the walls and Leo held me tightly as he also made sure of his safety.

“Leo...” I whispered, clinging tightly to his tux.

“Shh... I won’t let anyone touch you or our princess.” My eyes grew big.

“You knew it was a girl?”

“I had a hunch and I am hoping it’s true...” I nodded.

“Yes. It’s a girl, Leo.” He kisses my forehead smoothly. “I’ll protect you, my only queen and our princess.”

“But can you—?” We gasp and suddenly a sharp blade pierces on Leo’s back straight to his abdomen.

“Leo...” tears overflowed in my eyes.

“I’m alright.” He coughed blood on his hand as he removed the sword thrown by Jane.

“You damn witch!” he yelled, picking up another sword rushing to her although he was bloody and he was suddenly attacked by the von Klein personal guards!

“LEO!”

My womb suddenly clenches with pain and I flinch on the ground. The pain was unbearable.

“Well, well...” I looked up, hugging my body and saw Jane in front of me with dark mad vengeful eyes. “Do you want to go after I’ve killed your child?” She smirked. Why is no one helping us?! I turn to the guess and they’ve all turned into stones! Since when did someone cast a quick spell?!

“You... You... MONSTER!” my voice screamed wobbly.

“Monster?” Jane laughed hysterically. “You’re the monster here, sweetie. You stole Leo from me!” She pulls my hair which adds to the pain I am feeling in my womb.

“Let. Me. Go. Jane!” I pleaded but her hand just tightened more on my hair.

“Sorry, but I didn’t hear you well, Lady Selene.” She sarcastically replied emphasizing my name. It was painful like she was pulling my scalp off.

My eyes drifted to her companions. They had Leo in their arms beating him. Tears flooded and my heart was breaking into so much pain.

They also started creating fire in the palace curtains.

“St-stop...” My voice stuttered whispering and Jane definitely ignored me as she started pulling me into the balcony.

“Stop this!” Her pull was petrifying. where did she get all this power from?!

“I just had a fantastic idea, you know. I’ll send you and your child together to the afterlife!” Jane giggled.

“What?!” I shouted.

“I don’t repeat myself, my lady. I still have to mend Leo’s broken wounds when you disappear so we can get married soon!”

“You won’t win with this. Never!”

Jane pulled me with immense strength to my feet as I held her arm. “We’ll see about that... bitch!” She smiled and the next thing I knew...

I was falling down the twenty floors of the balcony...

Straight to the ground.
