Elizabeth

I couldn't stop thinking about how I felt feeding from the alpha. It was like I was renourished, and my strength and feelings for him intensified. I sighed and continued to brush my hair. I joined Aerys in the bedroom; he was already ready to go outside.

" Human breakfast?" he smiled at me, and I smiled back, nodding. We walked downstairs side by side, and we were so close that I could feel his eyes on me.

Everyone was there when we arrived in the dining room. Iris rushed to hug me, and I held her back. We all exchanged pleasantries before I took my seat next to Aerys. Even the former alpha smiled at me. Breakfast went on delightfully.

" Liace Yule admitted to the court this morning that the vampire confessed to her that the evidence against Elizabeth was fabricated but said nothing out of jealousy. She wanted our family to turn against Elizabeth," Athena suddenly said, beaming. So, that bitch knew all along, I hope I don't cross paths with her anytime soon.

" Oh yes, it's news everywhere. General Yule is knee-deep in shame and trying to get his daughter out of the mess," Murmured Caliana.

" The gossip blogs and the pack members are eating them up," Athena laughed. She was enjoying the Yule's downfall. I felt eyes on me, but I ignored them.

After breakfast, Aerys took me away from his family's eyes and held my hand/.

" I'm going to work for a few hours," he said, and I nodded, not meeting his eyes.

" Elizabeth, can we go out for dinner tonight?" he asked hesitantly.

" Aerys, I don't think we should do that. I'm here because you kidnapped me, not of my free will," I reminded him. He looked pained. We stayed silent for a long time before he smiled slightly at me.

" You're right. I'm sorry about that. Elizabeth, you can go back to Oregon. All you have to do is ask, and I'll arrange it for you. However, if you don't, dawn, I'll take it that you want to stay here with me, as my mate, and Luna," he said. I was speechless after his words. Aerys was letting me go. He grabbed my waist and pulled me closer to him. My heart was pounding, and so many emotions whirled in me. It was so much easier when he forced me to stay, but now, he gave me the choice. Aerys kissed my forehead, and my whole body warmed up.

He smiled at me and turned to walk away. Even after he disappeared, I could feel lips on my forehead.

I had a difficult decision to make. Aerys wronged me, but I didn't blame him for believing the evidence; anyone would in his situation.

' He was saving my life. The council would have killed me,' a part of me said.

What about Chuck? I involved him in this!

I walked absentmindedly towards the garden, deep in thought. A deep, cheerful voice snapped me from my thoughts.

" Elizabeth," I turned and smiled at Coen. To my surprise, he hugged me, and I held him, too.

" Hey, big guy. How have you been?" I asked, pulling away from his embrace.

" We've been well. I see your back,"

I only nodded, and we went to sit on one of the white benches. Dumber suddenly came to me, and I smiled, patting her further.

" I missed you,"

" Hi, Dumber," Coen said.

" You know him?" I raised an eyebrow.

" I'm his nanny," he said, and I chuckled. Aerys told him to look after my chicken. That's sweet that he didn't want Dumber to be unsupervised.

Coen and I went into town to relax as we had nothing to do. I was still pondering on the decision to make.

The pack members didn't treat me with disdain. They bowed their heads and smiled at me. People went out of their way to ask how I was doing after what happened. I borrowed Coen's phone and called Harry, he answered in the second ring.

" Hello,"

" Hi, Harry. It's me,"

" My Princess, I've been trying to contact you for a few hours. Yorna and I planned to travel to Oregon to check on you," he said. He sounded relieved that I called him.

" I'm sorry for worrying you both. I haven't touched my phone in 24 hours," I said. I'm back in Aery's pack. He kidnapped me," I informed him.

Harry chuckled, " Kidnapped?"

" Yes,"

I told him everything that happened.

" So what is your choice?" he asked. I didn't know either. I still loved Aerys but didn't want to be unfair to Chuck.

" I don't know, Harry, I'm so confused, but I have to decide dawn,"

" Choose Aerys," he suddenly said, and I gaped. When did he like Aerys for me?

" But-"

" You already chose the moment you fed from him. You can't bring yourself to say it because you think it's too easy," Harry said. His words struck me. He was right; my heart had already decided to be with Aerys. However, I didn't want to hurt Chuck. He had been too kind to me.

Coen got up abruptly and looked at me with worry. I ended my call to Harry,

" What is it?" I asked.

" Um, I was told through the mind link that Chuck is on the border with his men," he informed me. I turned without hearing more and ran to the border. Coen had shifted into his lycan and ran behind me. I was there in seven minutes.

There were many soldiers on the borders, all looking anxious. I noticed Chuck immediately. His eyes were glaring and exuding his alpha aura. He came with his soldiers. They were menacing, and some were even in their form. They didn't dare step over the border to come in.

I inhaled deeply and approached them. Chuck's gaze found me, and relief washed over his face. The Golden Stone lycans didn't let me through, and he came, but I raised my hand towards him. If he crossed the border without permission from the alpha, they would attack. An alpha wasn't allowed on another alpha's territory with an invitation. I rolled my eyes and jumped over the lycans, landing swiftly before Chuck. He smiled at me and pulled me in his arms. The lycans on the other side started growling again. They acknowledged me as their Luna and were protective of me. It was weird. I pulled away from him, and he caressed my cheek.

" I was worried about you," he said.

" I know, I'm sorry," I told him, " Aerys is my-"

" I know everything, Elizabeth," he was sad and kissed my forehead.

" Do you want to be with him?"

I hesitated, " I don't want to hurt you," I whispered. I didn't.

" I know. Thank you for that,"

I stiffened when the scent of Aerys hit my nose. I turned to look at him, and my heart pounded. He stood, watching us intently. Alec stood beside him.

Chuck's gaze was on me again. It was soft and so loving. My heart broke, and tears pricked my eyes.

" Elizabeth, I understand you," his voice was gentle. " He's your mate, and mates are scarce. He's the only one that can genuinely make you happy and complete. You can't give that up because you don't want to hurt me,"

" But-"

" I came here to see if you are safe, and from the looks of it, you are. I guess this is where you and I part ways, baby girl," he smiled slightly, and I did, too. I wrapped my arms around him, and he hugged me tightly. He was the first one to pull away. He caressed my cheek and turned, entering one of the Porsche cars. His men did, too, and they drove away.

After a few minutes, I turned and faced my mate with a new smile. He smiled back; his face showed so many emotions: happiness, relief, and so much. I approached Aerys, and he wrapped an arm around my waist. He kissed my temple, and we walked back to the pack silently.

" I love you, Elizabeth," Aerys said after a long silence. I looked at him and answered, as sure as day,

" I love you,"

" Bloody fuck," my almost three-year-old son facepalmed when he dropped his chocolate, and I gasped.

I glared at my brothers. They have been babysitting Adan for the past week, and he has learned a curse word!

" It was Egon," Zephir was quick to accuse. I glared at Egon, but he pointed toward Zephir. The two started to bicker and my anger levels rose.

Aerys and I have been so busy these past three months as the pack has expanded that we have yet to have time for ourselves. So, we decided to go on a week-long vacation in the Sapphire Royal Lycan pack. My idiot brothers offered to babysit for us since they don't get to spend time with their nephew. I came home and found out that my son had learned to curse!

" I just said it once in front of the little hybrid," Zephir snickered, carrying Adan and throwing him in the air. My son giggled, and I smiled, looking at him.

" Where's your husband?" Asked Egon, frowning.

" He went to the office, but he'll be back soon," I answered. Egon's phone beeped and his face suddenly lit up.

" It's my little Princess' birthday today," he murmured.

Egon once saved the life of my husband's niece, Solara Carter, in a terrible car crash. He did everything to ensure she lived, even breaking the rules and royal protocol. Egon somehow formed a one-sided bond with the girl he saved. He even broke his engagement to his long-time fiance and put his life on hold, but for what? A lycan girl he'll never have. It was absurd.

" Egon, it's unhealthy- "

" Don't, please. You don't understand," he grits, looking away. Zephir and I exchange a glance. I dropped the issue, kissed his head, and went upstairs to refresh.

I stand in the shower, letting the warm water cascade down my body. I feel warm hands on me, and I smile, turning to kiss my husband. He deepened the kiss. He sucked on my nipples, and a moan left my mouth. My fingers caressed his upper body, and my hips were grinding him already. I reconciled with my parents and had a great relationship with them, and all my friends and family were happy and healthy. It couldn't get better than this.

" Adan is cursing now," I informed him.

" I heard him downstairs," he chuckled, and I hit his shoulder,

"It's not funny,"

" Not at all, I'll talk to him," he promised, and I nodded.

We went downstairs for a freshly cooked dinner. We found Alec, Yorna, Harry, and Tonga chatting with my brothers. Adan and Tonga's twins were in the playroom with Egon's tall cat, Sir. The boys tried to ride Sir, but he wasn't having it.

" Good evening," I greeted, and Tonga came to hug me.

" I thought Coswell and Annalise were coming," I said.

" They traveled to Oregon; Annalise's brother is getting married in three days," she said. Chuck called to tell me when he proposed to his fiance. I was glad we remained friends and were in each other's lives.

We spent the evening laughing and talking while drinking wine. I had just brought another bottle for us, and Aerys pulled me in his lap and kissed the back of my neck.

" I love you," I whispered.

" I love you, too,"
