His Mate, His Girlfriend

Chapter My Forever Love

Chapter My Forever Love

Ellis' pov

My life was going well. I couldn't believe how well it had turned out for me. My mate was having another child, our baby. I will be here every step of the way this time. I wasn't there for the twins but would be present this time.

The joy in my heart was indescribable.

I was in my home office, reviewing files, when something caught my attention. It was a letter from David, pending a reply. I opened it. It was a request. He wanted Charlotte freed from the prison she was in. He wanted her to serve her five-year sentence out of jail—a home arrest. I heard from the warden that he had visited her weekly, and they got along well. Could they fall for each other during their scheme to separate Love and me?

From one alpha to another, he was willing to bargain with me. However, she committed heinous crimes, a matter that the members of the council would discuss heavily. I, for one, held no anger towards Charlotte any longer. I didn't care whether she lived or died.

Three months ago, she wrote Love and me a letter of apology.

I put David's documents away. I will get back to it later. There was a gentle knock on the door, and my breath stilled. I could hear the frantic heartbeat on the other side of the door. It was my daughter, Solara. Ever since the accident, she hasn't been the kindest to me. However, I understood she was hurt. She needed someone to blame, and I would take it.

" Come in, Sweetheart."

The door didn't open for a moment. Sighing loudly, she pushed the door open and wheeled into the office. I got to my feet. Her eyes were facing my floor.

" Can I help you, darling?"

She lifted her gaze at me, and my heart melted. Her big eyes were full of emotions.

" Forgive me, Dad. For the way I've been treating you," she started, her eyes filling with tears. I went to her instantly, taking her hands in mine,

" Oh, honey, I understand-"

" No, just let me say it," she interrupted, " I shouldn't have mistreated you. It wasn't your fault that the accident happened. I just wanted you to be the one to save me because you are my superhero," she was hiccuping through her words. I wiped away her tears and hugged her. Her tiny arms wrapped around me, her head resting on my chest comfortably.

It was the longest and sweetest hug I ever received from her.

" Dad - Daddy, you're squeezing me,"

" I'm sorry," I pulled away.

" Also, do you think you can take me to that short doctor who was helping me walk? I won't be mean to him, and I promise not to call him bald Guston," she said. I almost chuckled but nodded.

" We can go there tomorrow. I'm glad you want to try again," I informed her.

" I've been trying to walk again with Axton's help," she was a little embarrassed, " I only managed to take four steps like a baby before falling to the ground. I don't want Jack to walk before me, Daddy,"

I stroked her hair. I was pleased she wanted to walk again. The physiotherapist did say she could walk if she wanted to. However, my baby girl was stubborn at the time.

I kissed her forehead, and we chatted longer in my office.

We went out to dinner together. We are having everyone over tonight. When we entered the large dining room, all heads turned to us. I kissed my mate before taking my seat at the head of the table. I pulled my daughter into my lap.

' Okay. I like this,' Love mind-linked me.

' Yeah. Look who's back. I told you. She would come back,' I was happy.

' You were right.'

We exchanged pleasantries with everyone. Dinner was served. Everyone was engaged in conversation. Todd wouldn't shut up about their honeymoon, even though it had been a month since they came. He even changed his accent to a Greek one. " Oh, Santorini was just so beautiful, and the beaches were to die for. I saw myself living there," Todd said.

" Of course you did. So obvious," Jace said. He was mocking him, but Todd didn't catch on to that. Michael glared at him in a warning. Everyone was so happy with their lives.

We bid everyone farewell after a lovely dinner and tucked our children into bed.

I went to the bedroom. My beautiful mate stood by the large glass window, watching the vast forest. I looked at the ring in my hand and placed it back in my pocket. I'd wanted to propose to her for months, yet I didn't get the chance to. Tonight was a full moon, and I organized a midnight picnic near the lake outside.

" Penny for your thoughts?" I asked. She smiled at me. I held her waist and kissed her shoulders and neck.

" I'm just in awe of our life right now. I like it. I love us. I love our life," she smiled. A smile that took my breath away.

" Let's have a midnight picnic," I suggested. She raised her eyebrows at my request but nodded her pretty head. I have already arranged a candle-lit picnic.

We went to the backyard. The decorators did a brilliant job. A pathway made of candlelights led to the blanket laid out on the soft grass. White swans were spread in the lake, making the scene even more scenic.

" My lady,"

" Sire, this is so spectacular. I didn't know you were a romantic," she teased. Her voice was deep.

" You injure me. I thought I was a romantic here, only to find out you thought otherwise!" I pulled her closer to me as we walked. We sat, and I opened a bottle of wine, non-alcoholic, for her as she was pregnant. Love and I talked for a long time and shared kisses. I stood up and extended my hand to her.

" A dance, beautiful?"

She took it. We danced to a slow song that was playing on the speaker. I reminded her how beautiful she was, how amazing she was as a mother, and how wonderful of a mate she was.

" I've loved you for a long time. I will love you forever," I whispered in her ear.

I got on one knee. Love gasped, and tears rolled down her gorgeous face when I pulled out the diamond ring.

" Will you marry me, Love Chasia?" I asked. I wanted her to take my name and be my wife. She nodded repeatedly. I was scared her head would hurt.

" Yes. I will marry you, Ellis Carter."

I put the ring on her slender finger and got up to kiss her. I devoured her lips, every part of her. I wanted her so badly. We pulled away when we were out of breath.

" I love you, baby,"

" I love you,"

Love was the perfect woman for me. My first love. My last love. My forever love.

" My boyfriend, my mate," she whispered, cupping my face.

" Mine,"

" Yours,"
