Chapter 125. A Father

I forwarded the new email to Luis. He said he'd handle it. I pushed my phone into my bag and went outside.

I was surprised to find Todd, Lilac, and Zeyneb waiting for me. Todd was most excited.

" Hello," he said, his arm wrapped around mine.

" Hi, are you coming with us?" I giggled. He nodded excitedly.

" Finally. I have my girl crew," he squealed.

" Relax there," Lilac rolled her eyes playfully. She and Todd have been hanging out a lot, especially since she found out Todd and Eratu were friends.

" Hey, future Mama. How are you?" I kissed her cheek.

" I'm good, and you?"

" Just great," I answered. She gave me a knowing smirk.

After exchanging pleasantries, we went to the first packhouse.

The pack members were so polite and nice to us. I was addressed as Luna. I even discussed a few things with the leaders, especially about the upcoming mating ball we were hosting.

The day was productive.

It was after 3 P.M. when we went back to the manor to get ready for the party.

I hang out with my children for an hour in their playroom. Then went to the walk-in closet after taking a long shower.

I was looking at myself in the mirror. Pleased with how I looked. I wore a satin dress with a plunging neckline and an open back. The dress had a high slit in front. I paired it with pearl earrings. I put my hair in an elegant bun to show off my mark. I did my makeup how I liked it.

The party would be at Jace's hotel in the city.

I went down the stairs and found my mate waiting for me in the foyer.

The twins were asking him questions about today's event.

" I wish I could go to a ball," Sighed Solara, brushing her new dolls' hair.

They noticed me and turned their head towards me. Their jaw dropped to the floor.

" How do I look?" I asked. I tried not to show it, but my nerves were coiling in my stomach.

The introduction party made everything real and official. There was no going back after today.

" Mommy, you look so extremely beautiful, like a princess," Solara answered, running to hug me.

" Boys?" I twirled.

" You look nice, Mommy,"

" Nice?" I narrowed my gaze. Cayden gave me a lopsided grin. I wasn't going for nice.

" Very, very nice, Mommy,"

I'd take it because he was too adorable.

" And what does Daddy think about my outfit?" I said in a sultry voice, my eyes staring as I moved my leg to show off my skin.

Ellis expelled air from his lungs. His eyes darkened.

" You look... Amazing. You are everything perfect, my Love," his breath shuddered. I smiled and mouthed him a thank you. He took my hand. We said bye to the kids and went out.

The hotel was full of guests. Everyone wore their elegant clothing and jewelry.

All eyes were on us, and my nerves skyrocketed. I leaned closer to my mate and tightened my arms around his.

' You're so beautiful. You're wonderful. Just relax and enjoy yourself, okay?' Ellis's mind linked me.

' Thank you,' I looked at him deeply. He kissed my temple, and I smiled at that gesture.

No sooner did we step inside than the alphas started to approach us. They congratulated us.

Ellis and I had to part to mingle with other people. Not everyone was friendly to me. Especially the alpha's daughters, who were unmated. Their father presented them to Ellis so that he could take them as their chosen mates, but he denied them.

" I wonder how Love Chasia managed to trap the most eligible bachelor in the city again. I was happy when they separated six years ago," one of the ladies said. She glared at me.

" She ended her relationship with David Kofflin so dramatically and accused him of wanting money from her just so that she should be with Alpha Carter. She is so conniving indeed,"

" I heard the alpha locked up and punished his real mate, Charlotte, in the dungeons for Love! She is so vicious."

I approached the three gossipers. Normally, I don't pay attention to such rumors, but I couldn't have them spreading forced information to guests at my introduction party. I gave them a dazzling smile,

" Ladies, I couldn't help but overhear your comments as you were so loud,"

" Luna Love, finally he made you his Luna. Congratulations," one of them said. I could hear the bitterness in her tone.

" Yes, we were happy to hear you are the official Luna of the Grey Lycan pack," They smiled, pretending to be happy. I took another step forward. They stepped back, fear present on their faces.

" Cut the crap now. I will tell you here to stop spreading lies about me and Ellis. Normally, I wouldn't respond to people like you, but I want to set it straight. Ellis is my MATE, not chosen, my goddess-given mate," I clarified, looking them dead in the eyes. They bowed and slithered away from me. I snarled.

I found myself in the company of Lilac, Zeyneb, Luis, and Todd. They were so fun. We were drinking and chatting.

" Michael barely noticed me because he was busy working," sighed Todd.

" How is it going with Shawl, by the way? Is he still weirded out about you guys?" Zeyneb asked. Todd sighed.

" We gather a lot at his house. A few passive gay comments here and there, but nothing I can't handle," he said.

My eyes wandered to the entrance. My parents were supposed to come. However, they were running late.

I smiled when I saw my Dad walk in. The crowd went silent.

My father was an intimidating man. His aura was a force to be reckoned with.

A normal wolf would be in his presence for too long.

" Your father is so hot," Todd whispered,

" I know, right," Zeyneb concurred.

She bit her lower lips, stroking her braids as she eyed my father like candy. I pulled a disgusted face. She didn't see, as she was too busy staring at my father. Zey was trying to get a reaction from her boyfriend, and she succeeded. Luis growled and grasped her arm. His lips crumpled into her before she could say a word. She loved it as they went crazy in their raging kiss.

I shook my head and approached my parents.

Aerys met me halfway. My brother was miserable being there. He couldn't even fake it. His once captivating eyes, which resembled our father's, were now bleak and empty. His sadness swirled around me, and I couldn't help but pull him in for a long, tight hug. He inhaled my scent before he pulled away. He kissed my cheek and caressed my face.

" You look well," he said, his voice a raspy whisper.

" You look terrible."

" Story of my life," he sighed and went past me to the bar. I looked at him with a frown. He needed his mate because grief would consume him.

I waited for my parents to finish speaking to two alphas and a Luna.

" Hello, there, baby," Mom pulled me in a tight embrace. I hugged my father.

" Thank you for coming, Dad,"

I knew he wasn't too pleased with Ellis yet. However, his coming here meant he accepted our relationship.

Ellis joined us. He greeted my parents. Unlike my Dad, my Mom had adored Ellis since he was a child.

" Thank you for coming, Alpha Chasia, Luna Caliana," Ellis was polite.

" I'm here for my daughter. Despite what you did, she forgave you," Dad answered, his eyes narrowing.

" The man has redeemed himself, Edward. Let's move on," Mom grumbled.

" Cali, I'm sorry if I can't be so cordial around him,"

" Alpha Chasia, I understand your reasons for not trusting me. I am sorry for what happened. I adore Love, and -"

" Please don't tell me you were under a spell. That's not justification for you to abandon my child and grandchildren. You are an alpha for fuck sake," Dad growled lowly. I looked around the room. It was a good thing everyone had gone back to their conversations now. However, their eyes still discreetly peered our way.

Mom rolled her eyes.

" Look who's talking. Edward, didn't you live with another woman for over six months because of a dark spell?" Mom reminded him.

A frown appeared on my lips in commemoration. It was a woman called Candace. She was obsessed with my father and wore my mother's face after she attempted to kill her. I was the one to uncover the truth.

" What did you say, Dad? A spell shouldn't be a reason?" I teased.

" Don't gang up on me. That was a different situation, and where is Aerys when I need him," he snarled, hating to recall that time. It was a terrible time for our family indeed.

" I wasn't going to give that excuse, Sir," Ellis interrupted gently. He was so careful and timorous around my father. It was cute.

" I take full culpability for what I did. I was wrong. As I said, I adore your daughter. I will treat her right,"

Mom smiled and gently caressed Ellis's face. My father growled.

" He knows, hun. That's why we are here. Edward is just being Edward, an overprotective father," Mom said with a smile. Dad kissed her hair, and she grinned.

CC joined us. She greeted my parents, and they chitchatted. I noticed Mom's gaze was towards the door expectantly.

" Mom, are you waiting for someone?" I asked.

" Yes. Anaiah said she'll come,"

Anaiah was the lycan Luna Queen and my Mom's best friend. They even got pregnant at the same time. And, I mean all their pregnancies.

" Oh, speak of the devil!" Mom beamed,
