His Forbidden Soulmate

Chapter 37

Chapter 37

Freya

After seeing Jurius yesterday, I couldn't wait for the next day to see him again.

Before going downstairs, I arranged my long, curly hair.

When I walked into the kitchen, Zira and my grandma were both surprised to find that I was going to school.

"You cannot go to school today," Zira announced, and my grandmother agreed.

"I'm fine," I said as I began to make myself a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for breakfast.

They watched me with concern as I finished making my sandwich. I took a big bite and went into the fridge, pouring myself out a half full of orange juice.

"Make sure you take your supplements," my grandmother reminded me.

I nodded.

Three of the supplements were in my pocket. I removed them from my pocket and swallowed them together with the rest of the orange juice and some water.

"Goodbye; I'll see you later." I was rushing from the kitchen.

"Freya, wait," Zira stopped me. She gave me an apple and a banana.

"You can eat these whenever you feel hungry," she said.

"Yes," I replied, taking only the banana.

"Are you sure you're able to drive yourself to school?" my grandmother asked worriedly.

"I'll be fine," I said as I went over to hug her.

Her arms encircled me, hugging me back.

"Please call us as soon as you've arrived at school," said Zira.

"I will," I too hugged her.

They followed me outside to my car and watched as I drove off.

As I drove down the road, a smile spread across my face, and it grew brighter as I remembered what Jurius had said.

"We will live our love lives secretly," Jurius had told me.

I was relieved that he wanted us to because I didn't know how I'd manage without him.

When I arrived at school and spotted Jurius's blue pickup vehicle parked behind a tree, my heart skipped a beat. He was here.

I unbuckled my seatbelt and looked for him through my car's front mirror, expecting to see him standing beside his automobile. I didn't see him. Nor did I see him at the front of the school when I got out of the car. I closed the door behind me, disappointed.

"Freya, you're fine!" I spotted Dolly running over to me.

As she came to me, she gave me a bear hug.

I hugged her back.

"You have no idea how worried I was about you," she said as her arms went from around me, now looking into my eyes.

I wasn't good at holding a conversation, so I just shook my head.

"Come, let me help you to the classroom," Dolly said as she took me by the hand.

"Today I'm going to make sure I help you with everything," she then told me.

"No, you don't have to," I told her.

As I kept up with Dolly, she told me how scared she was when I fainted on the floor of the corridor. I also discovered that Jurius's brother was the one who took me up and carried me to the nurse.

While Dolly began chatting about the dress she and her friends had bought for the championship game after-party, my attention shifted away from her as we entered the school, searching for Jurius.

Where are you, Jurius? I said in my mind, and as I did, I noticed him along the corridor with his brother and a blonde, whom I was sure was his brother's mate. Jurius was as tall and handsome as ever. Jurius's attention, along with the others, turned to me as they sensed me. I wanted to smile at him, but I wasn't sure his brother knew that we would be seeing each other secretly, so I turned my head away and kept following Dolly.

"Why can't you come to the after party as well?" Dolly was upset as she went on to talk about the type of hairstyle she would be wearing.

An ache in my heart kept me silent.

I realized it was going to be challenging to have a private relationship with Jurius; it was hard to pretend as if we were strangers whenever we were not alone, and I don't know if I could continue to do it. Seeing him standing at his locker, I wanted to run to him and wrap my arms around him, but I couldn't. My head lowers, sadly.

"Are you okay?" Dolly asked as we entered the class.

"I'm fine," I said as I sat down.

"Okay, let me show you the dress I've bought," she mentioned as she placed her phone in front of me.

I had no interest in seeing them, but I didn't want to disappoint her. I pretended to smile as I looked at them, while from the inside I was hurting.

Jurius and I didn't have the same morning classes. As the lessons went on, I couldn't wait for them to be over so I could see Jurius at lunch. I hoped that this time we'd be able to talk, even for a short time.

The bell rang, and I quickly packed my bag and started to leave the classroom.

"Freya," Dolly stopped me along the doorway.

"Aren't we going to have lunch together?" she asked.

"I met you in the cafeteria," I told her, and then I went off.

I searched for Jurius as I was walking quickly along the corridor, and I caught him standing alone against the wall of the hall. His eyes were peering at me as he spotted me, and I halted, frozen by his stare.

"Wait for 4 minutes and meet me at the back of the school," he said telepathically to me and immediately went away.

I went into the girls' bathroom, not wanting Dolly to see me, and shut myself in the toilet area. As I did, I kept looking at my wristwatch for 4 minutes to pass. I waited for the time to come by fiddling with the band of my watch. It felt more like four hours than four minutes to visit Jurius.

Immediately, I sat up as I saw it was nearly 4 minutes and quickly exited the bathroom, heading to the back of the school. As I did, I came to a halt. I was frightened to meet Jurius's brother at the corner of the school before I could have reached the back. I was so appalled to see him that I spun around to return.

"Freya," he said, stopping me.

I nervously spun around.

"Jurius is waiting for you," he explained.

I nodded and walked past him.

As I arrived at the back of the school, Jurius swooped me into his arms and kissed me.

"I was aching to see you," he said as his lips left mine.

My forehead rested on his while he remained to hold from the ground.

"I too was," I said to him.

We again kissed until I stopped him.

"Is your brother the only one that knows about us?" I asked inquisitively.

"No, his mate, and also my parents."

My eyes widened after learning that his father, the alpha, knew that we were still seeing each other.

"Is he fine with us being together?" I asked.

The night he almost killed me, I didn't believe he was taking it well.

"I don't care," said Jurius.

I looked into his eyes, worried that I didn't want to come between him and his father.

"As long as the rest of the pack doesn't know and the Wolf Shifter Council doesn't find out," I'm OK, Jurius said.

As he was about to kiss me again, I stopped him.

"What if your dad tries to kill me again, and worst of all, what if he kills you this time?" I said.

Jurius gave me a grave look before answering.

"Next time, I will not withhold my full strength from him," he said angrily.

I was surprised by his comment.

"We only have 50 minutes before class; now quit stopping my kisses," Jurius demanded.

I started kissing him right away. He carefully lowered me to the floor and began kissing my neck. I gasped at his kisses.
