Cowards Live Happily

Cowards Live Happily

Chelsea Creek.

Alexander and Noah walked into the house with their backpacks on, feeling gloomy.

Suzy kept whispering bad things about Samantha in their ears. "It's understandable, after all, she's not your biological mother. It's normal for her to be tired of you, not to like you. You don't need to take it to heart. She has her own life, and you have yours. No matter what, I, your biological mother, will always stand behind you, always love you, and treat you well."

Unable to bear her incessant chatter, Alexander finally snapped impatiently, "Are you done yet? Even if mommy doesn't like me, I'll always love her. I'll never accept you as my mother! I hate you, I'm sick of you. Don't ever appear in front of me again, or I won't be polite to you."

With that, he took off his backpack and threw it at her.

Suzy couldn't dodge it in time and was hit in the abdomen by the backpack.

She winced in pain.

Seeing her hurt, Alexander finally felt relieved and ran upstairs.

Noah frowned at Suzy, offering no words of comfort, and followed Alexander upstairs.

Suzy held her aching stomach, feeling even more resentment towards Alexander.

Seeing the situation, the housekeeper immediately called Ethan.

Upstairs.

Alexander lay on the bed, his small face buried in the pillow, crying heartbrokenly.

Noah felt a pang of sadness too.

But the environment he had grown up in had long trained him to have a strong heart.

He could not only hide his sorrow well but also comfort Alexander.

"Don't cry! Actually, this was bound to happen sooner or later. After all, Aunt Samantha is not our biological mother, and we have no relationship with her. Soon, she will marry Uncle Justin, rebuild her family, and drift further away from us."

Every time he thought about this, he felt unbearably distressed.

As if he had lost something very important.

He wanted to stop it from happening but found himself powerless.

Listening to his words, Alexander became even more heartbroken.

Noah didn't know how to comfort him, so he could only sit quietly beside him, letting him cry and vent.

Alexander cried for a long time until his throat was hoarse before he sobbed.

"I understand what you're saying, but I really can't bear to part with mommy. I like her so much, I can't bear to part with her. Why can't she marry daddy? Why can't she be our mother? That Suzy is not our mother at all, I have no feelings for her at all, I don't want her to marry daddy."

Noah sighed deeply, helpless. "I want that too! But DNA doesn't lie!"

"Sob, damn DNA, why does it have to exist? We were doing fine abroad, why did we have to come back? Everything changed after we came back... Sob..."

Overnight, his mommy wasn't his mommy, and his little sister wasn't his little sister anymore.

And the person he hated the most turned out to be his biological mother.

If he had known it would be like this, he wouldn't have come back in the first place.

It was all because of him that he lost mommy and little sister.

Noah had never been good with words and didn't know how to respond to him, so he just tightly pursed his lips and remained silent.

He didn't respond, but behind him came the voice of Ethan.

"You're my son, and sooner or later you will come back. This is an unchangeable fact. Men don't shed tears over trivial matters. It's unbecoming to cry over every little thing."

The sudden voice startled Alexander and Noah.

Alexander looked up, staring at Ethan with eyes swollen like light bulbs.

"I'm not a man, I'm only four years old. Mommy said four-year-old children can be willful. Crying is my nature. If I'm unhappy, I need to vent it out. I won't keep it inside, it's not good for my growth and will burden me psychologically."

Ethan said in a deep voice, "Those are just excuses for cowards."

Alexander acted like a rascal. "I am a coward, so what? Cowards live happily, live joyfully."

Ethan was infuriated by his fallacy but couldn't find words to refute it for a while.

Alexander threw the pillow at Ethan angrily and said, "Get out, I don't want to see you. It's because of you that I'm separated from mommy. I hate you..."

Ethan's handsome face was shrouded in a gloomy aura, his deep eyes churning like an enraged lion.

He looked coldly at Alexander, then left the room without a word, slamming the door forcefully behind him.

The room shook with the force.

Alexander wasn't afraid at all. He snorted at the closed door and continued to cry.

Seeing them quarrel, Noah sighed helplessly.

Ethan, surrounded by an aura of frost, went downstairs.

Suzy guessed what had happened upstairs when she saw him and hurriedly brought tea over, trying to please him. "Ethan, Alexander is still young. Don't argue with him. Have some tea to calm down."

She said one thing and thought another, delighted inside. She hoped Ethan's relationship with those two little bastards would worsen. That way, her future children would receive more attention from Ethan and have a better chance to stand out. They wouldn't be overshadowed by those two.

Ethan glanced coldly at her, didn't take the tea she offered, sat down on the sofa, and took out a document from his briefcase, handing it to Suzy.

"I want Samantha to design the jewelry you wore when we got married. I will supervise it. This is a contract. Find a way to make her sign it."

Suzy refused without hesitation. "I am also a jewelry designer. I want to design my wedding jewelry myself."

It had been her dream since childhood.

Ethan's eyes swept over her, and she immediately lowered her head in fright.

"I'm not asking for your opinion!"

In other words, it was an order.

Suzy wasn't stupid and naturally heard the underlying meaning. She also vaguely guessed Ethan's intentions. He wanted to find ways to get close to Samantha. He hadn't given up on her from the beginning.

Suzy clenched her fists tightly, her meticulously trimmed nails digging into her flesh, causing a piercing pain in her palm. She bit her lower lip tightly, using all her strength to barely squeeze out a ‘yes.’

Ethan's expression softened slightly at her response. "Alright, you can go now! Alexander and Noah don't like you. Stay away from them for now."

Her lips were almost bitten through.

Suzy lifted her heavy feet as if they weighed a thousand pounds, step by step, leaving Chelsea Creek like a walking dead.
