Running Away From Home
Running Away From Home
Ethan gave her a faint glance and didn't respond, then stood up and went upstairs.
His reaction undoubtedly confirmed everything.
Anna slammed the table in anger.
“This is outrageous! How dare they bully the descendants of our Steele family?”
After saying that, she paid no attention to Suzy, walked out while making a phone call.
"Investigate what happened to our grandson during his time at Kindergarten A."
She wanted those who bullied her grandson to know the power of the Steele family.
Suzy was left alone in the dining room.
The malice in her eyes couldn't be restrained and spewed out uncontrollably.
That damn Alexander.
Embarrassing her time and time again.
One day, she would get rid of this stumbling block.
...
After Alexander went back to his room, he made a phone call to Samantha.
At the same time, Samantha had just come out of the amusement park.
Charlotte was tired from playing and fell asleep in Justin's arms.
They walked side by side towards the parking lot.
The sunset spilled over them, casting a long shadow, making them look like a perfect couple.
Justin cradled Charlotte's bottom with his left hand, letting her small head rest on his shoulder. His right arm was tightly pressed against Samantha's left arm.
His slender fingers nervously wanted to touch Samantha's hand.
As soon as they touched her skin, he quickly withdrew, feeling guilty.
When he mustered the courage to hold Samantha's hand again, Samantha's phone in her pocket suddenly rang.
Embarrassed, he retracted his hand and awkwardly scratched the back of his head.
Unaware of Justin's discomfort, Samantha took out her phone and saw that it was a call from Alexander. She answered and put it to her ear. Before she could speak, she heard Alexander's choked voice, "Mommy."
Samantha's breath caught, and she anxiously asked, "What happened?"
Alexander sobbed. "Mommy, I miss you. Where are you? I want to come find you."
Samantha glanced at Justin beside her, originally thinking of refusing. However, worried about Alexander and not knowing what had happened to him, after a slight hesitation, she agreed, "I'll be home in an hour. Come to my place then!"
Seeing that she agreed, Alexander immediately forgot about crying and joyfully said, "Okay, Mommy, see you in an hour, kiss... kiss...."
After saying that, afraid that Samantha might change her mind, he decisively hung up the phone.
Noah looked at him with envy, his face full of admiration, "Are you going to see Mommy?"
He also wanted to see Samantha.
He really wanted to meet her.
Alexander saw through his thoughts in a glance, held his hand, and said, "Let's go together! I don't like staying here. It's much more relaxing and comfortable to be with Mommy."
Without hesitation, Noah nodded in agreement.
Alexander took out a backpack and stuffed clothes into it.
"I've decided. I'll sleep at Mommy's place tonight and won't come back! You also quickly find two sets of clean clothes. We'll come back together tomorrow morning."
Noah didn't dare to delay and immediately started packing his things as well.
When the two opened the door with their backpacks, they coincidentally ran into Ethan about to knock on the door.
Seeing them preparing to go out with backpacks, Ethan frowned, displeased, "Upset, so you're running away from home? Who gave you the courage?"
The icy tone and the low pressure emanating from him scared Noah, making him immediately lower his head, not daring to make a sound.
Pouting, Alexander complained, "I miss Mommy. I want to sleep at Mommy's place tonight, and I'll come back on my own tomorrow morning."
Ethan, with narrowed eyes, suddenly asked, "You're going to find Samantha?"
Alexander nodded, "I just called Mommy. She said she'll be home in an hour. I want to go with Noah to see her."
After saying that, afraid that Ethan might not agree, he started to play the victim.
"In these four years, I've been living with Mommy every day. Suddenly changing the environment, of course, I'll feel uncomfortable. Dad, can you agree to let us go? I will slowly change my habits."
Regardless of whether he would really change in the future, for now, he'd convince him first.
Ethan pressed his thin lips tightly.
After a moment, he strode downstairs, "I'll take you there."
Seeing him agree, Alexander and Noah were overjoyed, following behind them with their backpacks.
...
Meanwhile, on the other side, Samantha pocketed her phone. Justin dispelled the idea of holding her hand and asked, "Is someone coming over later?"
Samantha nodded, "Yes, Alexander. He might be uncomfortable with the new environment, so he wants to come and see me!"
Her words made Justin's heart sink. "Is Ethan coming over too?"
He couldn't forget what Ethan had said that night. He felt a sense of danger from him, a man who liked Samantha, even with a crazy possessiveness. Someone like him was something Samantha couldn't handle.
Samantha chuckled, "Impossible! Just Alexander coming over!"
Her words relieved Justin's tension.
After more than half an hour, Justin escorted Samantha to her doorstep. Apologetically, Samantha issued a farewell, "Thank you today! I should have invited you for dinner and then let you go, but Alexander is about to arrive, so I won't keep you. Next time, I'll personally cook and thank you."
She feared that Alexander might tell Ethan about Justin staying for dinner. Given Ethan's possessiveness, it would surely lead to a storm. Therefore, it was best if both parties didn't meet.
After she and Ethan had completely separated, she could formally be with Justin.
Justin smiled and didn't say much, carrying Charlotte back to his room. After gently placing it on the bed, he tactfully left.
He hadn't left for long when Alexander arrived.
Knowing the door code, he entered directly.
At this moment, Samantha was making noodles in the kitchen. Alexander smelled the fragrance as soon as he entered and said without reservation, "Mommy, Noah and I haven't had dinner yet. Can you make some for us too?"
Samantha, displeased, raised her eyebrows, "Why haven't you had dinner? Picky eater again?"
Alexander pouted, looking unwilling to discuss it.
Thinking she guessed right, Samantha sternly poked his forehead and looked at Noah, saying helplessly, "Are you also joining in the nonsense?"
Noah lowered his head apologetically, "Sorry!"
Samantha tenderly rubbed his head, "I'm not blaming you two. I'm worried about you, afraid that you'll go hungry! Alright, both of you wait for me outside, I'll be done soon."
Noah's eyes lit up.
Being obedient, he took Alexander's hand and left.
Soon, three plates of fragrant noodles were ready.
When Samantha came out with the noodles, she realized that there was someone sitting on the sofa.
"Why are you here too?"
Ethan's handsome face seemed overshadowed by dark clouds, and there was a cold arc on his lips. "Do you think I can rest assured with those two coming over alone?"
Samantha couldn't respond and glared at him, then placed the noodles on the table, gesturing for Alexander and Noah to come and eat.
