Chapter 25: Jean Broody vs. Bradley Jackson ~ When suppressed desires explode… A listening ear!

Bradley chuckled low in his throat. “It wasn’t easy bruh. I can tell you that. I was only fourteen. And I really believed my father would kill me like he’d threatened if they found me. So not only did I have to fend for myself, I had to disappear. It was tough.”
Jean nodded. “Where are your parents now?” Jean was sure that Bradley at least had an idea what had happened to his parents.
Bradley shrugged. “Dad died some years back. Mother still lives in that house.”
“Ever thought of going to see her?”
“Sometimes I want to.” Bradley shrugged. “But I…I don’t think I can stand seeing the disgust and hatred in her eyes, Jean. So I’d rather stay away.”
“You don’t know that.”
“I’d rather not find out.” Bradley rasped.
Jean nodded slowly. He couldn’t imagine going for even a month without seeing his own mother. And he knew that his mother would want to see him no matter what he did. So he didn’t see Bradley’s point but decided to let it go.
“I’m sorry about what happened to you,” Jean said softly. “But…you know what Wendell did with you was wrong don’t you?”
“He didn’t deserve to die,” Bradley growled.
“I didn’t say he deserved to.” Jean quickly replied. “I’m just saying your dad got angry. No parent would…”
“Don’t you think I know that?” Bradley breathed. “Why do you think I didn’t go to the police to give them the real story? He’s a murderer but I pushed him to it so…I disappeared to corroborate his lies. I feel so guilty because Wendell didn’t get any justice. But when I think about the fact that he would have been condemned for his part, I let it go.”
“I understand.”
“I just wish I had done things differently. If I hadn’t insisted on us having sex, he would have been alive.” Bradley said in a voice filled with so much guilt.
“Hey, don’t be too hard on yourself,” Jean said quietly. “Your father killed him, not you. Besides, if Wendell hadn’t developed that kind of relationship with a kid, none of what happened would have happened.”
“Surely all the blame can’t be placed at his doorstep. I wanted it. I told you I became addicted to his touch. I…”
“And whose fault was that?” Jean asked gently, cutting Bradley off. “His, Bradley. From what you’ve told me, he trained you. You were just a kid for fuck’s sake. Falling for him doesn’t make it acceptable. He wasn’t supposed to do that shit. Not to hold brief for your father but…my father would have killed first and asked questions later.” He shrugged.
Bradley silently acknowledged the truth in Jean’s words. Wendell had indeed trained him. For instance, he still couldn’t take a shower without thoroughly cleaning out his butthole. He’d had to do it all the time in order to stay clean for Wendell. Wendell said he didn’t want to worry about anything unwanted finding its way out into the sunshine. It had, therefore, become a habit. And what was that saying…old habits die hard. All he needed was a shower with a hand-held attachment or a bottle of water. The fact that he had no ‘Wendell’ in his life anymore didn’t matter at all. He just had to be clean in there at all times.
Bradley gave a deep sigh. “He murdered him and lied to the authorities, Jean,” Bradley whispered. “That wasn’t right.”
“It sure as hell wasn’t.” Jean agreed. “And what kind of father throws out his son?” He growled. “I’m surprised your mum couldn’t make him do…”
“She was scared of him.” Bradley snorted. “Never could stand up to that man. His word was gospel. Literally. I’m sure any mother would have wanted to protect her son or searched for her soon afterward. Not mine.” He laughed bitterly. “Not if it meant going against my father.”
“You are her child,” Jean growled, feeling angry at Bradley’s mother and sorry for the little boy. “She should have stood up to him and protected you.”
“God made sure I got by just fine,” Bradley said quietly. “I’m grateful.”
“Ever the reverend’s son huh.” Jean gave a sad smile.
“I’ve never lost my faith. So… Now that you know my story, still want that blowjob?” Bradley joked.
“Did you just talk about faith and a blowjob in one sentence?” Jean looked like he was trying hard to hold in his laughter. “Damn!” Both men burst into laughter. “Would you do it if I said yes?” Jean asked when their laughter died down.
“I’ve already broken my vow and done it once, haven’t I?” Bradley retorted.
“You sure have.” Jean chuckled. “You’ve punished yourself all these years. According to the great Federico Garcia Lorca, to burn with desire and keep quiet about it, is the greatest punishment we can bring on ourselves. I say you’ve done your time buddy. You need to live. But after hearing all that, the last thing I want from you right now is a blowjob, Lieutenant Bradley Jackson.” He smirked. “Who invented that word though? Blowjob. It’s the stupidest word ever!” He got to his feet.
“You’re a moron.” Bradley chuckled.
“Think about it. We want our cocks sucked, not blown.” Jean drawled. “We need to feel that suction because it produces magnificent sensations.”
“Do you mind?” Bradley groaned. “I don’t need tutorials on…”
“Damn straight you don’t.” Jean’s grin was downright dirty. “All right, what I need now is to get some sleep. It’s almost morning.” He muttered as he turned to go. “Get some sleep too, soldier.”
“I’ll try,” Bradley said softly. He knew that sleep wasn’t going to come anytime soon. Talking about his past, for the very first time since leaving his parents, was making him visualize the entire incident.
Jean had stopped at the door at Bradley’s words. “Have you ever told anyone this story?” He asked without turning around.
“No.” Came the quiet response.
“I’m going to sleep here tonight.” Jean suddenly announced, turning away from the door and pulling off his t-shirt.
“I don’t need you to…”
“Shut up, Bradley.” Jean cut him off, taking off his pants and leaving his sexy black boxer briefs.
Without another word, Jean went to the bed, drew back the covers, and then climbed in. He made himself comfortable on the side that he knew Bradley didn’t sleep on.
“Come on. I won’t bite.” Jean grinned.
Bradley shook his head in amusement. “I sleep in the nude.” He said, grateful that somehow, Jean had managed to keep everything light. The last thing he needed was a pity party.
“No, you don’t.” Jean snorted. “Think I don’t know you guys are trained to be ready to go at any time? How can you be fast if you’re naked?” He chuckled. “Come on, hop in.”
With a chuckle, Bradley got into bed. Both men looked at each other and then laughed. “You’re crazy I swear.” Bradley shook his head as he drew the covers over his body.
“So I’m told.” Jean chuckled. “Did you really think saying you sleep naked would make me change my mind? You obviously don’t know me very well.”
“I obviously don’t.”
“How come you’re not wearing any dog-tags by the way?” Jean asked with a yawn. Aren’t you supposed to have them around your neck at all times or something like that?”
“We’re only required to wear them whilst on active duty. It’s for identification purposes.”
“Well, that one-man mission you were on was still an active service right?” Jean drawled. “It could have helped identify you if you’ve gotten your arse killed.”
Bradley shrugged. “It was an unauthorized mission. And I hadn’t planned on getting shot.”
“You’re an idiot,” Jean muttered.
“And you’re an asshole for getting me shot.” Bradley retorted.
“Yeah, whatever.” Jean closed his eyes. “You okay?” He asked after a while.
“Yeah.” A sigh.
“Good. Get some sleep.”
“Good morning.”
“And to you too, soldier,” Jean responded as he turned to face the other side of the room.
Jean dropped off in no time but Bradley stayed awake for about two more hours, thinking about the past and asking himself a lot of ‘what if’s. Eventually, he drifted off, grateful for Jean’s presence because he didn’t feel as lonely as he usually did whenever he thought about the past.
