Slept with one Twin...and Fell for the Other

Chapter 23

Chapter 23

Bellamy POV

It was Tristan.

Oh my God.

My knees felt like they were about to give in. The world spun around me like someone had yanked the ground from under my feet. My ears rang.

It was Tristan.

Tristan was the man I slept with that night. The man who held me while I cried. The man who whispered things I tried to forget. The man whose baby I was carrying.

I felt sick. The silence in the room was too loud. I couldn’t breathe.

Max stood there like a statue, eyes locked on Tristan, but his voice came like a hammer. “You fucked my brother?” he said slowly, each word laced with venom.

I flinched.

“Max, stop,” I whispered.

But he didn’t even look at me.

Tristan stepped forward, jaw tight. “It was one night. I didn’t know it was her. She didn’t know it was me. We didn’t know.”

Max scoffed and let out a bitter laugh. “Oh, now everything makes sense. All your little mood swings, your sarcasm. The tension. You’ve been jealous since day one.”

“I wasn’t jealous,” Tristan muttered.

Max turned, eyes wide. “Don’t lie to me. You’ve been jealous your whole fucking life. But now? Now I get it. You slept with her, then let her fall into my arms. Knowing. All this time—knowing.”

Tristan didn’t say anything.

“And you,” Max snapped, spinning to face me. “You let me believe it was me?”

“I didn’t know,” I said, my voice cracking. “I was drunk. I thought—God, I thought it was you, Max.”

“But you didn’t ask?” His voice rose. “You never asked. You just came into my office with some blanket and a baby photo and expected me to what? Be happy? Be grateful?”

“I just found out!” I snapped. “I’ve been scared and confused, and neither of you made it any easier!”

Max stepped closer. “You lied to me.”

“No, I didn’t,” I whispered. “I just… got it wrong.”

His eyes burned into mine. “You want to raise a kid with a man you barely know? You want to bring that into my company?”

That hurt more than I could say. I took a shaky breath. “I didn’t come here to cause a scandal. I came here because I thought you deserved to know.”

Max’s laugh was cruel this time. “Well, guess what, Bellamy? I don’t give a fuck anymore.”

My chest caved in. “Get out,” he said coldly.

I blinked. “What?”

“You’re fired.”

The word hit me like a punch. “Max—” Tristan said sharply.

“No,” Max snapped. “She wants to lie to me? She wants to sleep her way through my company and then cry about it? She’s done. I’m done.”

Tears stung the back of my eyes. “I didn’t sleep my way through anything, Max. I worked hard. I didn’t plan any of this.”

“Still happened though, didn’t it?” he said. “Pack your things.”

I looked at Tristan. He looked like he wanted to kill someone, his fists tight at his sides.

Max’s voice dropped. “I said. Out!”
