CHAPTER 119. CHAOS
CHAPTER 119. CHAOS
Damian has his ruthless hands strangling Leo, almost killing him, while I am at a safe sweating and shaking with fear of how bad this can turn out to be.
Gosh! This is what I was trying to avoid but this dummy of a moron did not care my memo. I am frozen in astonishment, the weight of the situation bearing on me like a suffocating blanket. "That is enough, Damian! Please!" I plead, voice quivering with a mixture of fear and desperation.
"Damian! Damian!" I shake him, and he snaps from his murderous state, pulling Leo the feet by the color.
Leo was intending to sample the freedom of breathing freely that had been snatched from him for a while, but Damian is just a beast right now. I don't know what he thinking, or if he is thinking at all, because he starts dragging Leo with him outside.
Where the heck is he taking him?
"Damian?" I call, but he doesn't even turn.
"Guards!" Damian yells as we near the gate, throwing Leo ruthlessly to the floor.
I make the mistake of peeking behind my shoulder for a split second. I think the building is empty. Everyone has left their posts to come and witness this chaos.
Double shit! This humiliating! I never wanted to put Damian through this at all. If is anyone to blame here, it is this lurkie, Leo! How dare he do this to us?
As Damian strides purposefully forward, his gaze locked firmly on Leo's, there's an air of authority that surrounds him. With each step, he closes the between them, his presence commanding attention and respect.
Stopping just inches from Leo, Damian's gaze pierces through the haze of pain and , locking onto Leo's own with unwavering intensity. There is a palpable in the air as the two men stand face to face, their silent exchange speaking without a single word being uttered. "The next time you come even a close to her shadow, I will kill you with my bare hands, you manwhore!"
He then turns to the guards. "Throw this fool out of my premises and make sure not his disgusting shadow shows in here ever again. Do I make myself clear?"
"Yes, sir!" They chorus as they take Leo away, and we wait until he is thrown out of gate like a garbage.
Well, he is garbage! What the fuck was he thinking coming here?
"Are you okay, babe? Did he hurt you?" I snap to the voice of Damian cupping my .
Is he aware that people are watching us from behind?
"I should have killed that bastard!" Damian's voice seethes with barely contained rage, words punctuated by the grinding of his teeth as he casts a furious glance at my wrist.
And then what? He would have stained his hands because of me. He would have a certified murderer all because of that useless moron. All the same, his anger allow him to reason right now. He was pushed beyond his limits. That jerk was one thing; hurting me was another different thing that could have him death. "I am fine, Damian," I mumble, attempting to downplay the of the situation.
"No, you are not. I won't hesitate to kill that worthless moron if he dares come near again, Elli! How dare I even try to hurt you? You have marked him, and this me want to run after him and kill the jerk!" he asserts, his tone leaving no room argument. In the face of his unwavering determination, I find myself rendered .
I have watched as Damian's temper simmers dangerously close to boiling over in the of that insufferable jerk. I can't fault him for his protective instincts. I love how beastly he goes just to protect me, but the thought of him crossing line into murder sends a chill down my spine. Something needs to be done about
Leo, and soon. He cannot wreak havoc on us like this again. I won't allow him. He to be stopped ASAP!
"Come,” Damian speaks. “Let me check your wrist in my office," he says, his voice a anchor amidst the chaos. With his guidance, I sink into the plush leather , feeling the weight of the day's events begins to lift from my shoulders.
His touch is gentle yet firm as he tends to my injury, and I find solace in his presence always. He gently starts massaging my wrists and blowing on the affected areas.
The bruises are not that serious, but I love how he is making the case such a serious .
He doesn't say a word for minutes, and I'm relishing the soothing sensation of his massage. He probably murdered Leo a thousand times in his head. It is only he can make him look like this.
"Hey!" I snap, diverting his attention to me, and I can almost taste the bitter anger has been festering in his throat.
He snaps from his engrossing thoughts, perhaps from weighing ways that would have fit to kill Leo. As if he has ever killed. "That jerk better make sure I don't ever his ugly face again," he mutters under his breath, the words laced with venom.
"I don't want that either," I admit quietly, the weight of the situation pressing down on like a leaden weight.
He looks at me with eyes of concern, covering his beautiful features. "What does he ?" His voice is laced with curiosity, and his dark eyes probe mine with an that sends shivers down my spine.
I clear my voice before speaking. "Apparently, he is just another pawn in my father's game, a means to lure me back into his clutches. But that is never going to ," I assert, my resolve firm.
He cocks an eyebrow. "Are you sure that's all?" Damian's question hangs in the air, with a hint of insecurity that he can't quite conceal.
I know where he is coming from. The slight thought that Leo might still be interested me is a big menace to his cool. I shake my head, hoping to shake that thought from mind too. "Leo hates me, Damian. He blames me for the mess his life has become.
I don't know what my father promised him, but Leo is only interested in getting his back on track, and I am the bid," I explain, frustration seeping into my voice.
I hate how my father is still toying with me. Gambling with me as if I were an object.
This sucks!
Damian shakes his head. "Your father is never giving up," he states matter-of-factly, tone tinged with resignation.
"I know, and I am ready for this fight, Damian. I will fight him and his lurkies until end.” I pause for a moment, then wonder out loud, “What I want to know is what he promised that jerk."
"Richard Riccaford is influential and manipulative. Have you considered that maybe did to Leo what he did to you?" Damian suggests, a hint of bitterness creeping into voice.
I am taken aback, getting lost in Damian’s words for a minute. What did he do to me?
"What do you mean?" I implore the pieces of the puzzle to slowly fall into place.
"To try and get you back, he made sure you wouldn't find a job anywhere after you him. Who is to say he didn't do the same to Leo?" Damian's words hit me like a of bricks, the realization dawning on me with chilling clarity.
I mean, I am still wondering what an IT consultant is doing working as a pizza boy. I , some deep sh*t ought to have happened.
"But why?" I can't help but wonder aloud as the pieces of the puzzle slowly fall into .
"Perhaps for being in a relationship with you before, despite his warnings. Or for with you and your stepsister. I don’t know," Damian suggests, his voice with implication.
It could be, but still. "He could have done that to him when we were still together. I ’t think he would go that far if that were the reason,” I say.
That is logic, right? Getting back at Leo at this time when we are over and done with illogical. My own thoughts, though. And again, what for? Not like the old man about me, meh!
