Chapter 114
Chapter 114
Leah's POV
"Miss Lewyn, please, I will beg you on my knees... Please don't..." Jorah looked as if he was about to cry.
"Lucas knew Finn had been genetically modified. So you must have found out who did it," I said.
"Miss Lewyn... I really can't drive like this..." Jorah stepped on the brake and parked the car on the side of the road.
"It has something to do with the Royal Guards because Finn was afraid of soldiers," I kept going on. "Those soldiers were trying to hurt Finn, but he managed to escape. But during the escape, something happened and he lost his memory. After that, he was taken to the slave market and put on sale. Sak Doyle purchased him and brainwashed him by telling him that he was his brother."
Jorah covered his ears and said, "I don't know. I know nothing, Miss Lewyn. Please don't push me anymore! I... I feel..."
At that time, the full moon came out from behind the clouds.
As the first ray of moonlight touched Jorah, he immediately ripped off his clothes and shifted into a brown wolf.
"Urgh! Jorah! You're so useless!" I threw my hands in the air and shouted at Jorah's wolf.
The poor brown wolf whimpered, tucked his tail, and curled up into a giant fur ball on the driver's seat.
I looked up at the sky and realized that it was the Full Moon's Night. All the werewolves were forced to shift into their wolves.
I was a Lycan, so I could take control of myself. But average werewolves were not able to hold their shift process back.
I grabbed Jorah's wolf and held it in the air.
I had never seen his wolf before. It was about the size of a dog and it looked so fluffy and adorable.
He stared at me with a pair of puppy eyes while wagging his tail.
"Don't try to play cute, Jorah! I know you're there and you can still talk to me in wolf form!" I shook him a little bit like I was dusting a carpet or something.
Jorah looked around for a while and eventually focused his sight on me.
Then, he cracked a giant smile on his face, stuck his tongue out, and licked the tear marks on my face.
My heart melted.
I could never stay mad at a wolf, especially a cute one, no matter how hard I tried.
I placed Jorah's wolf on my lap and stroked the hair behind his neck. His fluffy hair was so tickling.
I held this giant furball in my arms and pressed my face against his back.
He shifted a bit to provide me with the best support, letting me use him as a cushion.
This was exactly something that I needed. Something primal and loyal, soothing and comforting.
"I know you can still hear me, you little furball," I buried my face into his fur and said.
Jorah's wolf grumbled something non-stop. It was so cute.
I had never met a talkative wolf before.
I tickled his stomach.
Jorah's wolf rolled over on my lap, using his stomach to face me.
"I'm not going to tickle you again, Jorah," I crossed my arms and said.
Jorah opened his mouth widely and grumbled something else. His body was swirling from side to side on my lap.
I held him up and put him on my lap, stomach down. Then, I gently massaged the part behind his ears.
Jorah purred like a big cat.
I read it somewhere in the past. Four-legged animals provide people with the support they need when there's a crisis.
No werewolves keep a house pet. Only human beings would do such things.
"Maybe I should keep a pet at home," I said while stroking the back of Jorah. "Maybe a dog."
Jorah's ears flickered and he turned his head toward me. His eyes were filled with questions.
I lifted Jorah up while staring into his eyes. "Or maybe I could ask Lucas to give you to me. You'll be my pet."
Jorah looked terrified and struggled to break away from me.
I didn't let him go and continued, "What do you say? My brother Leo has invented some droplets. Once you drink it, you will remain in wolf form. You will walk on four legs for the rest of your life and you'll sleep on my balcony."
"Aaaahhhh! No!" Jorah's wolf growled desperately. "Please don't!"
"OK. But you will have to tell me everything," I stared at him and said.
"I will tell you everything, but you can't tell Alpha that it was me who told you that!" Jorah's wolf said.
"OK, deal," I said and placed him in the driver's seat.
He shook his fur and sat on the driver's seat upright.
"What do you want to know." Jorah's wolf tilted his head and asked.
"Who modified Finn's gene?" I asked.
"You should ask your brother Leo." Jorah's wolf wrapped his large tail around his feet and said.
"My second brother Leo? He's behind this?!" I frowned.
"How well do you know him?" Jorah's wolf asked.
"I've known him all my life. He's..." I became speechless.
Apparently, I didn't know anything about my second brother. He remained to be a myth to me.
Ever since we were young, he had always been the quiet one in our family.
Lucian told me that he refused to speak until he was three years old. Everyone thought he was mute, but no doctors could figure out what happened to him. But when he decided to talk, he produced grammatically correct sentences.
Besides, he was always ahead of people of his own age. He finished college when he was 12 years old and started his own pharmaceutical company as soon as he turned 18.
The company he started was called UniHealer, which was later run by my elder brother Lucian.
Ever since he transferred the ownership of UniHealer to Lucian, he had remained in his lab all the time, attending all kinds of medical conferences around the world.
Everyone thought he was a genius, but we didn't feel anything particular about it.
He was Leo. He was the quiet and smart one in my family.
I knew absolutely nothing about him.
