Chapter 38
Chapter 38
Leah's POV
"Hey, what are you doing?! Stay away from her!" Laura rushed forward and pushed the male stripper away from me.
The music suddenly seized. The whole clubhouse went silent. The only thing I could hear was the sound of my own heartbeat and... Well, the heartbeat and panting sound from the half-naked man standing in front of me.
He looked as if he was furious for not being able to stay closer to me. I could tell the wild beast underneath his human form was exasperating.
"You can't kiss her!" Laura shouted at the man.
The tension in the air was so thick that it made me suffocate.
Just at that moment, a giant man rushed forward, bowed, and apologized, "I'm so sorry, Miss Parrish and Miss Lewyn. My name is Sak Doyle and I'm the manager of this nightclub. This is totally my fault. I should have trained my dancers to behave in a more professional way. This particular dancer is a bit backward if you know what I mean, but he has never done something so outrageous as this. There must be something wrong with the wires in his head. I'll straighten them up. Please be assured that this dancer will be severely punished and you will never ever see him in this club again. For now, I would do everything to make it up for you."
Then, he took a pause and stared at the male stripper, and narrowed his eyes, "Finn! What the fuck are you standing there like a pole? Come here and apologize to Miss Lewyn!"
Finn. Oh, my Goddess. Is that his name? Finn?
I repeated the word in my mind. For some unknown reason, this word sounded extremely familiar to me, but I just couldn't remember why it resonated with me.
Finn didn't move. He stood right there with clenched fists, locking his eyes on me.
There was grievance and sadness in his sapphire eyes, which was heart-throbbing.
I somehow knew he was in tremendous pain and shame, and that made me burst into tears.
"What the fuck, Finn?! Why are you looking at Miss Lewyn like that?! Stop staring at her! She's scared! Hey! I'm talking to you! Are you deaf?!" Sak, the giant club manager, grabbed Finn's hair abruptly and slapped him across his cheek.
Finn's head tilted to the side with blood dripping down the corner of his lips. He stood there, looking like a fractured sculpture. My heart was gripped. I naturally wanted to run forward and hold him in my arms, but Laura was holding my arm tightly.
The slap and curse seemed to pull Finn back to reality. He moved forward to me and said in a low voice, "I'm sorry, Miss Parrish and Miss Lewyn."
"Is this your apology?! Do you know how much money Miss Parrish spent on this party and how much money she paid for you?! Are you fucking kidding me?!" Sak roared and kicked Finn in his abs.
It was a hard kick. Finn immediately fell to the ground, curled up in pain.
I couldn't hold it anymore. I broke away from Laura and kneeled next to Finn, blocking Finn from the giant man with my own body.
Sak slapped and kicked him around in such a casual way that I knew it wasn't the first time that he had treated Finn in this way.
Does he have something to do with the scars across Finn's chest? I thought to myself.
I became furious.
"Stop treating him like this! He has already apologized. Just leave him alone!" I looked up at the club manager and said in a harsh voice.
Sak looked surprised for a brief moment. Then, he immediately noticed my usual feelings for Finn, so he decided to fawn at me.
"Sure, of course, Miss Lewyn." He rubbed his hands together and said with an ear-to-ear smile. "May I have the pleasure of inviting you and Miss Parrish to the VIP lounge to get some refreshments?"
Looking at the drenched dress on Laura and me, I frowned.
I couldn't let Troy see me like this. He would definitely tell Jalin, who would definitely tell my brother. And my brother will definitely tell my Father. And my Father would be so crossed and ordered to shut down the whole club and have everybody involved in tonight's party killed.
That would be horrible.
Get changed and get out of here. Nobody gets harmed. I thought to myself. So I briefly nodded to the manager.
"This way, please." Sak promptly pointed the way for us.
The VIP lounges were hidden on both sides at the end of the corridor. Laura was led to the one on the left and I went to the one on the right.
There were SPA facilities in the room. I didn't know why there were SPA facilities at all in a nightclub. I had never been to this part of the club and didn't even know the existence of these VIP lounges.
A new plain white T-shirt and a pair of jeans were folded neatly and placed on the table, along with a pack of disposable underwear.
And they were all my size.
That was thoughtful. I thought to myself.
I quickly removed my wet dress and took a quick shower.
As the water poured down from head to toe, I desperately tried to wash the thought of Finn off me, but I couldn't.
I couldn't stop thinking about him.
And then it occurred to me that I shouldn't have left Finn alone with the manager. He would definitely beat the crap out of Finn.
I rushed out of the shower, wiped myself clean, put on the clothes prepared for me, and rushed out of the lounge.
"May I help you with anything, Miss?" A Playgirl Bunny waited at the door and asked me.
"I want to see Finn. I want to see him right now." My voice was dry and I bit my lips.
"Yes, Miss Lewyn. Right away." He quickly picked up his walkie-talkie and mumbled something.
A few minutes later, I saw Finn appear at the other end of the corridor, following Sak.
Finn's head was lowered, with his entire face merged into Sak's dark shadow.
"Miss Lewyn, I'm glad that you're well-refreshed," Sak smirked at me. "Finn's here. And he's at your service."
