Chapter 46
Chapter 46
Ivy's POV
It took five days for my wolf to come down from the heat. Five whole days for me to finally think about anything other than wanting to be fucked on every possible surface inside the cabin. My omega was sated. It no longer whined to get knotted or fucked senseless and I finally felt the embarrassment of my actions settle in as I got dressed in one of the shirts of my mate and walked around the cabin.
I remember being fucked in all positions against all the surfaces around the cabin. Back against the wall, the door, on the counter, the couch, and even on the floor. I remember it all so vividly.
My cheeks flushed and heat spread all over my body as the memories flashed through my head. Cassian sweaty over me, hips moving at an animalistic speed as he held me in place.
I slapped my cheeks to wipe those thoughts away. Is this how everyone feels after mating? Is it normal to feel this much embarrassment?
My hand involuntarily went straight to touch the mating mark. It was now sore. It should've been healed days ago but Cassian kept biting it every time he knotted me. My omega was happy about that. Over the moon because of the fact that the alpha wanted to claim us.
He was nowhere to be seen. I woke up to an empty bed and it made my wolf extremely whiny. I had to push it down before getting up and start looking for him.
"I need a shower." I sighed, talking to no one in particular. I don't know when was the last time I took a shower. It was always Cassian who cleaned me whenever my heat subsided for a few hours and most of those times I was out cold.
Relief flooded through my whole body as I stood under the shower. All the sweat and stickiness was long gone. I washed my hair and body with his shampoo and body wash before drying myself and getting dressed in another one of his shirts. I had nothing else to wear. Not even an underwear. Everything was torn and dirty.
Cassian still wasn't back. I chewed on my lips as I looked out the window. Did he go back to the packhouse?
No way, he wouldn't do that without telling me…. right? I looked around the cabin, searching for a note or anything that said he was going back to the packhouse. My mind was a little relieved when I found nothing.
He might be an asshole but he wouldn't do something like that and leave his newly marked mate alone. I took a deep breath to calm myself. Thousands of thoughts flooded my mind, trying to figure out where the alpha must've gone.
My omega was getting restless.
Go search for mate. Go to alpha. Look for alpha.
The words kept repeating in my mind and I knew it was my omega fussing. After a few minutes, I couldn't take it anymore. I took one of his coats and went out.
There was no sign of him around the cabin. His scent was there but it was faded. Cold prickled my skin as I walked forward, my heartbeat rising as I looked for him.
I didn't reach very far before I heard it. "Omega," His voice made me freeze. I stood still for a moment before looking at the source of it. Cassian stood there, looking at me with a frown on his face. His eyes glowed for a moment, letting me know that his alpha was still on the surface. "Where are you going?" He asked, raising a brow at me questioningly.
I gulped. "I was looking for you…" Why the hell was I getting nervous?
Cassian then raised both of his brows, his shoulders relaxing as he let out a hum. "I went out to hunt."
Of course.
Can't you just tell me before going out, you asshole? I huffed in my mind.
My wolf sneered, not happy with me cursing our mate.
The mating and marking thing really made my wolf push forward a lot. It wasn't this annoying before.
Cassian had fresh meat in his hands but it looked clean, no blood in sight.
"I only stocked food for one person. So we ran out. I went out to catch something small so we could eat breakfast and lunch. We'll go back today evening so we don't have to worry about dinner." He said as he walked forward, gesturing me to follow him back to the cabin. I did as I was told.
"You cleaned it?" I asked. My wolf was itching to make a conversation.
"There is a stream nearby." He nodded.
I took my coat off when we entered the cabin. Cassian went straight to the kitchen area and started the preparations for cooking. My omega was over the moon.
He's providing for us.
The words kept ringing inside my head. Give it up to my wolf to be pleased by the bare minimum. I sat on one of the chairs and watched as he worked. There was a silence between us as he cooked and served it to me. But it wasn't awkward. I didn't feel awkward. I hope he didn't feel that way too. It felt comfortable being with him.
I knew we wouldn't be all lovey-dovey after the mating. Cassian was still holding back from mating me. If I hadn't followed him here, this wouldn't have happened.
My fist clenched and I closed my eyes as I tried to push away the memory of desperate acts I had done to get mated and marked. A part of the blame goes to my wolf who made me feel absolutely shitty to the point I had to chase after him and beg him to mark me.
I pushed those thoughts away and curled up on the couch. Nothing much happened after our breakfast. We were resting, restoring our energy after the days and days of using it to have mind-blowing sex. My cheeks heated up as I thought about it.
I was begging him to breed me! What the hell was I thinking?
And the amount of time I was knotted…he was making sure my request would come true. I placed my hand on my stomach, my heart racing at the thought of carrying a pup.
My wolf was jumping around in happiness and excitement like a maniac. Stupid omega.
Everything was going normally and I was about to slip into a nap on the couch after lunch when I was suddenly whisked away and sat in my mate's lap. I yelped in surprise and gripped his shoulders for dear life, staring into his golden eyes with my wide ones.
What the hell?
Cassian didn't even give me a moment to talk before he buried his face into the crook of my neck. I bared my neck instinctively, letting my mate scent me. He nipped and rubbed his cheek all over my mating mark and scented me thoroughly. His possessive grip on my waist tightened and I purred happily in my mate's hold.
Alpha is claiming us.
I smiled at the thought. His hair felt soft in my hands as I carded my fingers through it. It felt warm being in his lap. I've never felt so comfortable. He felt like home and we fit together like puzzle pieces.
It took a few minutes for Cassian to lean back. He looked at me for a moment, the dazed expression on his face disappearing soon after. He started apologizing out of nowhere and my omega whined.
There's no need for him to apologize. We're mates. Scenting one another is something mates do all the time.
"My wolf is still on the edge. He's making me do things." He tried to reason.
"Oh…" I gulped, not being able to control all the thoughts that rushed into my mind. So it was his wolf…. Not him. "Okay…" I said, slipping out of his arms. My heart thundered in my chest at the thought that we were back to square one with only the mating bite added to the equation now.
I didn't want that.
"I'll give you some clothes to dress up. We're going back." He said before standing up. My heart felt heavy in my chest while I nodded in reply. Suddenly nothing felt right.
Did I make a mistake?
Did I force him too much that he hates me now?
Mated wolves don't hate each other…right?
I got dressed and followed him like an obedient pet. Fear was clawing into my chest and I couldn't think of anything positive. Cassian looked at me a few times, wanting to say something but he didn't.
He could feel it, right? He could feel I was nervous. Then why didn't he say something? Why didn't he try to calm me?
I bit my lips. We were about to reach the packhouse before he stopped. Cassian turned to me and tugged my coat away from my neck, exposing the mating mark before he took my hand in his and walked forward.
My omega preened at the gesture. Pleased that the alpha wanted to show off his claim on us but I was still on the edge.
It's only for show.
Just for them to see.
It means nothing.
My throat felt dry as the thoughts in my mind got louder and louder. Is everything going downhill again?
This is supposed to be a new beginning… So why doesn't it feel like one?
