Revenge with My Quadruplets

Chapter 151

Chapter 151

Just as Charlotte felt a cold hand violently grab her wrist, she turned her head to see Ben, his eyes glinting with a frantic intensity.

"Charlotte," Ben whispered, a chilling edge to his voice, "it seems you know too much."

Suppressing her fear, Charlotte attempted to speak calmly. "Ben, what are you doing? We're classmates."

"Classmates?" Ben sneered. "This isn't the place for you, Charlotte. Right now, you're coming with us."

Before Charlotte could respond, a sharp pain surged through her, and she blacked out, abducted by Ben.

When Charlotte regained consciousness, she found herself inside a dimly lit warehouse, surrounded by darkness seeping through broken windows. Ben stood beside her, gripping a gleaming dagger, while Zelda stood nearby, her expression blank.

The lead bodyguard said to her, "Don't be nervous. My master only wishes to speak with you."

A dark glimmer flashed in Charlotte's eyes too quickly to be noticed. She already had a plan in mind.

If this person wasn't going to harm her immediately, she'd gather information quickly, then find Kingsley.

Approaching a man resembling Kingsley, Charlotte was struck by his uncanny resemblance. Though in his thirties, he bore the same handsome features as Kingsley, albeit with a hint of hostility beneath his facade, difficult to conceal even behind a seemingly kind smile.

The two figures behind him, Zelda and Ben, eyed her with resentment and reluctance, but Charlotte paid them little attention.

Her eyes locked onto the man's face, her voice trembling with feigned fear, "Who... who are you? What are you trying to do to me?"

"Ms. Scott, don't be nervous," Kingsley's uncle, Theo, said, smiling and attempting to convey goodwill. "I think you should have guessed who I am, and it doesn't matter if you didn't. I'm Kingsley's uncle, a part of the Livingston family, and both the Livingston and Scott families have quite a few business dealings."

"Today, I heard that someone from the Scott family is here for a banquet, so I specifically waited here to see if I could meet with you. It's also an opportunity to enhance the relationship between our families."

He spoke in a friendly and official manner, but Charlotte couldn't shake the feeling of hypocrisy.

Since he had come here through a cooperative relationship with the Scott family, why didn't he approach her brothers instead of her, someone not deeply involved in family affairs?

Internally, she analyzed the situation thoroughly, but fear still colored Charlotte's expression. "But... I don't know much about the business..."

Theo, the younger brother of the former head of the Livingston family and Kingsley's uncle, observed Charlotte closely. Seeing fear even in the depths of her eyes, a hint of contempt and a suppressed laugh flashed in his gaze.

A false smile appeared on Theo's face as he spoke, "You don't need to understand everything, I just want to have a friendly talk with you."

With a gesture, he invited Charlotte to sit on the stool beside him. Collecting herself, Charlotte moved forward and took the seat.

Theo sat across from her. "You've got some nerve, venturing after Zelda and Ben out of place and daring to come here to pry around."

He complimented her as if she were a young relative, but the contempt in his eyes was thinly veiled.

Charlotte sensed the mockery, but she maintained a shy demeanor. "Th-thank you for the compliment..."

Theo sniffed, the contempt in his eyes deepening. Seeing Charlotte's defenses weakening, he continued chatting and complimenting her until a genuine smile graced her face, then he returned to the main topic.

"I heard you're in a relationship with my nephew. Do you know about his condition?"

Coldness gripped Charlotte's mind. Indeed, he was targeting Kingsley.

"You mean, his tendency to be emotionally paranoid?" Charlotte glanced away, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment. "I'm aware of that; I can handle it. However, there might still be some concerns within my family, so we're working on it."

"Emotional paranoia?" Theo chuckled as if he'd heard a joke.

There was a long pause before he met Charlotte's slightly apprehensive gaze and said, "So, you're not aware of the truth?"

"The truth?" Charlotte's heart tightened, and she struggled to grasp the implications. With feigned timidity, she asked, "What truth?"

"And Kingsley never mentioned it to you?" Theo's eyes darkened, a deep hatred seeping into his tone. "He caused his own mother’s death."

Like a bolt from the blue, this revelation struck Charlotte.

"You... What?"

The Livingston family's tragedy unfolded years ago; Kingsley's parents died in a car accident, Theo was disowned, and Kingsley was left with a mental disorder.

The idea that Kingsley could have caused his own mother’s death left Charlotte reeling for a moment, but only for a moment. Soon, her rationality returned, and amidst the shock, a thought emerged: This couldn't be true!

Kingsley was not capable of such a thing! Despite his aloof exterior, his heart was kinder than most. While he may have employed harsh methods, they were reserved for those who provoked him with malice. He cherished his loved ones!

This was a lie; there had to be more to the story.

"No, he wouldn't."

"How could he not?" Ben's voice dripped with venom. "He's emotionally disturbed, a psychopath! Just a brief conversation with you, and he has my family on the brink of ruin. Despite our promise to leave the city, he heartlessly destroyed everything! He's completely unhinged! And you, choosing to stay with a madman, what does that say about you?"

Charlotte feigned belief, but a flicker of hope remained as she stood up and declared, "No, that can't be true. I need to talk to him..."

"Go ahead, ask him." Ben's face contorted with anger. "Then you'll know the atrocities he's committed! How does he have the audacity to pursue love? He should be held accountable for his sins! Rot in hell for what he's done!"

Charlotte moved to leave, but Ben grabbed her arm, pressing a gun against her temple, a menacing glint in his eyes.
