Revenge with My Quadruplets

Chapter 122

Chapter 122

Fifteen years later.

In front of Fromanza University, a bright and cute-looking girl moved quickly through the crowd until she reached the curb. She pulled out her long-vibrating cell phone.

Looking at the caller ID flashing on the screen, she sighed helplessly before answering the call.

"Chris, good afternoon!" The girl's voice was dainty and soft, with a hint of playfulness. "I just got out of class. What do you need?"

On the other end of the phone, Chris's cold, magnetic voice responded, "You haven't reported your schedule to me today."

"Alright," the girl frowned slightly, somewhat helplessly. "I just finished my classes for the day. I heard a new restaurant opened near the school and the food is supposed to be delicious. I made plans to meet my good friend Sherry there this evening. That's my plan for the day!"

"Well, alright," came Chris' calm voice on the other end of the phone.

The girl breathed a sigh of relief and patted her chest.

Then, Chris called her name again. "Charlotte."

"Huh?" The girl stiffened for a split second before softening her voice again. "What's wrong, Chris?"

"Remember to come home early after dinner tonight."

The girl frowned and was about to say something, but she eventually relented. "Okay, I know."

She silently cursed at the control freak Chris!

After hanging up, Charlotte Scott, the girl, couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief inwardly as she held the phone.

In fact, she had just lied.

She hadn't made plans with her best friend for dinner; instead, she had a drama rehearsal.

Luckily, she managed to keep it from Chris.

Fifteen years ago, she had been separated from her family for three years but was reunited with them. Since then, she had been deeply loved and cared by her parents, her three brothers, and one sister Diane. It was no exaggeration to say she had lived a perfect life like a little princess. However...

Excessive pampering can sometimes become burdensome, and perhaps because the family had once lost her, they were all afraid something might happen to her again.

They kept a particularly tight leash on her, especially Chris, who matured early. This situation worsened after their parents went to travel.

Their father left the whole Scott family and company in the care of her siblings while he took their mother on year-round trips. Naturally, Chris became the patriarch of the Scott family and demanded that Charlotte report to him on all her activities.

This was the first time Charlotte had ever lied.

"Charlotte!"

Charlotte suddenly heard her best friend Sherry's voice. She looked up and saw short-haired, cute

Sherry waving at her from across the street. Sherry quickly crossed over and walked up to Charlotte.

"Charlotte, do you know who the male lead in this play is?" Sherry exclaimed excitedly.

Sherry, an active and enthusiastic member of the school's drama club, usually had all the latest information about it.

Charlotte was about to respond when the surrounding crowd suddenly exclaimed, "Oh my! It's Kingsley!"

"He's so handsome!"

Charlotte was stunned. She looked up and, through the crowd, saw Kingsley not far away, surrounded by a group of people.

As the most famous and enigmatic figure in the school, Kingsley's popularity was immense.

There were rumors that Kingsley was the son of a prominent family, so everyone referred to him as "King" when speaking of him privately.

Kingsley, in a simple school uniform, had a calm and mysterious aura about him. His deep, cold eyes seemed like sheets of ice, making him hard to grasp. His steps were brisk yet steady, without hesitation.

His presence drew the attention of many students, but he walked calmly through the crowd as if he noticed no one. His face was handsome and composed, and his slightly brushed black hair shone in the sunlight.

The security guards shielded Kingsley from the bustling crowd surrounding them.

Charlotte was vaguely worried because she knew Kingsley was averse to contact with strangers. The crowd that followed him, however, was unaware of this, and they continued to press towards him.

Charlotte frowned, put her cell phone in her bag, rolled up her sleeves, and charged straight ahead.

"Charlotte!" Before Sherry could stop her, she saw Charlotte had already rushed to the entrance of the school.

"Get out of the way, all of you!"

Charlotte's shout, along with her commanding presence, managed to subdue the crowd.

In the next moment, amid the confusion of the crowd, she squeezed into the very center and grabbed the loudspeaker from a security guard.

"Everyone, listen up!"

"Please stand separately on both sides and clear the center!"

"No one is allowed to block the passage of others!"

There was silence, and after a few moments, the crowd began to move, aligning on either side and making way down the center.

Charlotte looked up to see Kingsley walking briskly down the cleared path, escorted by security. As he passed Charlotte, Kingsley, who had been indifferent to everything around him, finally raised his head and looked at her. Charlotte, wearing a ponytail, appeared delicate and energetic, and Kingsley's dark eyes seemed to harbor some kind of emotion.

After just one glance, he lowered his gaze again and distanced himself from his surroundings. Charlotte froze for a moment when she met Kingsley's eyes, but he quickly averted his gaze and continued walking forward, leaving her with his indifferent back.

The security guard next to him acknowledged Charlotte with a polite nod, to which she responded with a quick smile.

When Kingsley's figure disappeared in front of the school, the crowd slowly began to disperse.

Sherry approached Charlotte, saying, "Charlotte, you have no idea how worried I was about you."

Charlotte asked, a little puzzled, "Why were you worried about me?"

Sherry sighed helplessly. "My dear, you don't know Kingsley very well. He may be handsome, but he's also very eccentric. I heard that the last time someone at school upset him, they were never seen on campus again the next day. What you just did was really too bold!"

Hearing Sherry's words, Charlotte froze. Eccentric?

Charlotte suddenly thought of Kingsley's warmly smiling face when he was a kid.

She shook her head and responded, "There might be some misunderstanding. By the way, Sherry, what were you just about to say to me?"

Sherry then remembered and said, "I almost forgot to tell you, the male lead of this play is Kingsley!"

"What?" Charlotte exclaimed in shock.
