Revenge with My Quadruplets

Chapter 112

Chapter 112

At that moment, Peter sat on the opposite end of the couch, shaking a pocket watch in his hand, a faint ringing sound resonating through the living room. "Emily, please open your eyes," he intoned hypnotically.

Peter's mesmerizing voice echoed repeatedly, and eventually, the woman on the couch slowly complied, opening her eyes.

Her gaze was vacant, clearly indicating she had succumbed to hypnosis.

"Emily, do you recall what transpired after you awoke?"

"I woke up in the hospital; I don't remember anything," she replied.

Peter pressed on, "In your mind, is there someone you must see?"

The woman, initially staring blankly, suddenly exhibited a hint of sadness in her eyes. Her scarlet lips trembled as she spoke, "My child..."

Derek intervened, gesturing for attention. Peter promptly closed his pocket watch, and Emily's eyes shut as she lapsed into unconsciousness once more.

"Mr. Scott," Peter spoke with a solemn gaze, "she seems to have experienced an incident resulting in memory loss. In such cases, repeated sessions of hypnosis may unveil forgotten memories."

Derek's gaze grew intense. "For now, keep this matter confidential."

Peter nodded, gathered his belongings, and returned to his room. Derek knelt beside the couch, gently brushing away the woman's disheveled hair, his fingers skimming over her scarlet lips.

He had spent the night delving into the Parker family and Emily's life over the past three years.

Three years prior, Emily had suddenly joined the Parker family as their adopted daughter. However, the missing year remained a mystery. Only by uncovering the events of that year could he learn the truth about Emily's past.

"Emily..."

He caressed her face, repeatedly calling her name.

"Emily."

"Emily."

It was as if someone were calling her.

The voice continued to echo in Emily's ears, reminiscent of the persistent call of a distant figure. She felt like she was adrift at sea, surrounded by thick early morning fog that rendered her direction indiscernible.

In the midst of the fog, a solitary figure emerged—an upright silhouette beckoning to her with profound emotion. If it wasn't a member of the Parker family, then who could it be?

Suddenly, tumultuous waves crashed upon her, and the frigid sea water grazed her lips, abrasively rubbing against them. The sea enveloped her, encircling her body from back to front. In an unexpected shift, the cold water metamorphosed into warmth, an unfamiliar sensation coursing through Emily's body...

She stirred, only to be met with a more vehement embrace of seawater. Her fingers twitched, and her eyes snapped open.

There, atop her, was a man. His fervent lips traced a path down her neck, and his heated palms explored the contours of her back. Emily acted swiftly, coldly pushing the man away. With a determined hand, she delivered a resounding slap across his face.

"Splat!"

A distinct sound permeated the air, though Derek's eyebrows remained unmoved. His gaze lingered on the disheveled woman, adorned with light-colored hickeys from his kisses. Her collar, pulled down by him, revealed a disarrayed vulnerability.

For four years, Derek hadn't touched another woman. Yet, in the presence of Emily once more, his body and mind clamored to possessed her.

Derek knew he shouldn't act like such a jerk, but another voice inside him told him that she was his wife and whatever he did wouldn't be too much. So, while she was still unconscious, he kissed her.

A kiss that exploded like a starburst, beyond his control, and he yearned for more.

"Sorry," Derek uttered, taking off his suit jacket and tossing it aside. Emily kicked the suit to the floor and reached up to button her own lapel, the corners of her lips forming an icy arc. "I can't believe you're this kind of guy, Mr. Scott!"

A trace of self-reproach flickered in Derek's eyes. "It was too presumptuous of me, I'm sorry." His admission of fault with a good attitude only intensified the fire smoldering in Emily's heart, unable to escape.

"Is this something that can be solved with an apology?" Emily retorted in annoyance. The realization that he had kissed her while she was unconscious chilled her face again. "What did you do to me, and why was I unconscious just now?"

"Nothing. I noticed you have heavy dark circles under your eyes, probably due to lack of rest lately. I just wanted to let you get some sleep," Derek's voice was low and gentle, yet with an indescribable undercurrent of emotion.

Emily pursed her lips indifferently.

Recently, all of Parker Group's projects had encountered numerous problems, and not a single member of the entire Parker family could find peace, herself included.

However, as smart as she was, Emily quickly realized that the man standing in front of her was behind these issues.

She took a breath and asked slowly, "Mr. Scott, may I ask, where exactly did the Parker family offend you?"

Derek froze a little as he looked at her, recalling the first time they met.

The Emily from that time, despite her cold exterior, exuded vivacity. Her knitted brows and smile had deeply attracted him. She was smart and beautiful, no different from the woman before him now. Derek felt the urge to embrace her again.

He suppressed that impulse firmly and spoke deliberately, "You're merely the adopted daughter of the Parker family. Why would you defend them?"

"Mr. Scott, the Parker family saved my life. Why shouldn't I stand up for them?" Emily sneered. "Mr. Scott, just say it—what would it take for you to release the Parker family?"

Derek curled his lips.

He was suddenly relishing this moment a bit.

She was alive and well, standing before him, and they had a long, promising future ahead.

He settled back into the couch with grace and spoke casually, "What would you be willing to sacrifice for the Parker family?"

Emily pursed her scarlet lips.

She suddenly realized something...

Maybe everything the man in front of her did was merely to lure her to come to his face.

"Mr. Scott, I never knew you had such peculiar tastes," Emily said with cold sarcasm. "To orchestrate all of this for a woman like me."

"You're overthinking, Ms. Parker," Derek smiled. "You're not that significant for me to go to such lengths. However, I will admit that you do intrigue me, so... If you'd consider working for me as a secretary, perhaps, I might contemplate letting the Parker family off the hook."

Emily squeezed her fingers together. "It's something I need to think about."

"Fair enough." Derek smiled lightly. "I'll be leaving Kinnis tomorrow night, so please make your decision before I depart."

Emily tugged at the corner of her lips and left without even a greeting.

Derek touched his thin lips.

It was as if the sweet flavor of her lips still lingered on them.

"Emily, I will make you marry me again!" he swore to himself.
