Chapter 67

　　Soon, they arrived at Emily's house. As expected, Emily liked the gifts from Ian and Aaron very much. She placed them in her bedroom and put the flowers into a bottle. The room looked more vibrant with the flowers.

　　After sending Aaron and Ian over, Derek couldn't stay for too long. He peeked at her when Emily wasn't paying attention. He wanted to know when she would find out about his card and how she would react. Would she accept it?

　　Derek left the house with anxiety. At that moment, he wished that he could stay too.

　　Chris frowned. Derek looked back before he walked out of the door. Chris found that the side of Derek's face was very familiar. Where had Chris seen it before? Perhaps it was because Aaron and Ian looked like Derek. Chris thought for a long time. However, he couldn't remember, so he had to put it aside first.

　　In the evening, Teresa made a lot of delicious food. Ian liked the corn soup she made very much. The sweet taste of corn melted in his mouth and he could not help but have another bowl of it.

　　"Ian, your little stomach is bulging." Diane found it interesting.

　　"Well, the food is too good," Ian murmured. He felt that he was right to come this time. He liked the atmosphere, the people, and the food here very much.

　　Ian wondered, 'How strange! The food at home is prepared by a top chef. Why do I feel much warmer when eating the food at Emily's house?'

　　Aaron kept his head low and focused on the food. Emily was very happy to see them enjoying the food. There were two more children at home. She didn't feel that it was noisy. Instead, her heart was filled with joy.

　　"If you like it, I'll cook it for you next time." When Teresa saw that the food she cooked was so popular, she was very delighted. This was the best reward for her.

　　Ian's and Aaron's eyes sparkled. "Really? Can we come again?" Ian looked surprised.

　　Although Aaron did not speak, his face had already made it clear.

　　"Of course," Emily said with a smile.

　　"Mommy, I want to eat that." Chris pointed, looking at them sullenly. If he didn't do anything, his mommy would be snatched away.

　　Emily handed the plate to Chris and whispered in his ear, "Chris, you are my favorite."

　　Chris was instantly comforted. His ears were red. What his mother said made him shy.

　　He looked up at Aaron and Ian proudly. His mommy still loved him the most. His eyes revealed this.

　　After dinner, the four children watched TV for a while. Diane wanted to see "We Bare Bears". Ian wanted to watch "SpongeBob SquarePants". Chris and Aaron said both were okay.

　　Thus, the four children came to Emily for a solution.

　　In the end, after some discussion, they decided to watch "We Bare Bears" for half an hour and then watch "SpongeBob SquarePants" for half an hour. Then, they would take baths and go to bed.

　　The children were good with this plan.

　　After watching the cartoons, Emily asked Chris to take Aaron and Ian for a bath. Aaron had been here before, so he was familiar with the rooms. He found the pajamas he wore last time and took another one for Chris.

　　"Aaron is my brother. Why are you wearing the same pajamas?" Ian's eyes widened.

　　Chris' eyes revealed that he thought Ian was childish. Then, Chris took out another set of pajamas, which were the same as his and Aaron's.

　　"Here you go." Chris handed it to Ian.

　　"So it was prepared for me long ago. These are the same pajamas for me and Aaron." Ian was delighted.

　　Emily heard laughter and the sound of water splashing on the ground from the bathroom.

　　"If you don't finish bathing in five minutes, you won't be able to wear the same pajamas," Emily said to the kids in the bathroom.

　　The bathroom suddenly became quiet.

　　"Chris, I haven't washed off the foam yet." Ian's panicked voice came.

　　"Slow down. Don't get it into your eyes," Chris said in a serious tone.

　　Emily and Diane smiled at each other.

　　"Mommy, we're out." Chris opened the bathroom door. Then, three cute and smart little boys stood at the door. They were wearing the same clothes, which made them three times more adorable.

　　Emily helped them dry their hair. Chris enjoyed Emily's service. He narrowed his eyes comfortably.

　　Suddenly, Chris noticed something. He stared in a direction and did not move.

　　Chris saw his side face and Aaron in the mirror. Chris finally knew why he felt Derek's side face was familiar.

　　Aaron's side face was very similar to Derek's. This was normal because they were father and son. However, Chris' side face resembled Aaron's and Derek's too. This made Chris wonder.

　　Chris' little head worked rapidly.

　　Aaron's and Ian's mother was Rose. They were the same age as Chris. If Derek was Chris' father, that meant that Derek got Emily and Rose pregnant at the same time.

　　Chris stared at Ian and Diane, who looked very alike. Chris clenched his fists nervously.

　　Derek thought, 'If all of this is true, Derek is not worthy of being my father.'

　　Chris still remembered that he had asked Emily about his father before because he felt that if he had a father, his father would protect Emily, and Emily would not have to work so hard.

　　At that time, Emily looked very sad. She said that Chris' and Diane's father had died a long time ago.

　　Chris did not want Emily to be sad, so he never asked about it again.

　　Was it because Derek was too fickle and hurt Emily that she raised them alone? No wonder Emily had always been so cold to Derek.

　　Chris was furious. Derek didn't deserve his mother. Chris could not let Derek hurt his mother again.

　　"Chris? Chris? What's wrong? Your hair is dry," Emily called out.

　　"I was thinking about the number puzzles Aaron had shown me before." Chris quickly found an excuse.

　　He felt troubled when he came to realize such a big secret. Chris did not know how he should face Derek's other two children. Chris did not want his mother and Diane to get hurt.

　　After Emily helped the three little boys dry their hair, she took Diane for a bath. Diane loved to take a bath with her mommy and was singing for her.

　　"We all smell good now." Diane climbed onto the bed and sat next to Chris and the other two. She sniffed at them and found that they smelled the same. It was wonderful.

　　"Where am I sleeping?" Emily asked as she looked at the four children taking over the entire bed.

　　Aaron patted the place beside him. He would sleep in between Emily and Ian. Just thinking about this made Aaron smile.

　　Chris also looked at Emily eagerly. He suffered a great blow today. He only wanted to sleep next to his mommy. He needed Emily's comfort.

　　Diane looked at the two boys who were vying for Emily's favor. Diane generously expressed that she had taken a bath with Emily, so she would let Chris sleep next to Emily.

　　Chris immediately said that he would give Diane one more chocolate bar tomorrow, and the children solved the problem themselves.

　　Emily lay on the bed and wrapped her arms around the four children. She gently kissed their cheeks and told them a story.

　　The children soon fell asleep with smiles on their faces.
