Revenge with My Quadruplets

Chapter 54

Chapter 54

Eric was efficient. He checked the surveillance records and found that Emily had been in the Scott Group. Then, he asked the receptionists and learned what happened. Finally, he began to question Jamila.

"I was simply following the group's rules. That woman didn't make an appointment. She..." Jamila explained in a panic.

"If you did follow the rules, you should call me to confirm it," Eric said expressionlessly.

"She looks like the kind of woman who wants to seduce Mr. Scott. How could I let her bother you?" Jamila flattered Eric. Eric was Derek's secretary and had authority in the company. Even if Jamila could not see Derek, it was not bad for her to butter up Eric.

Eric looked at her coldly. "How dare you say such reckless words. It seems that you are too smart to work at the Scott Group."

Then, Eric left without looking back. Jamila felt her legs weak and fell to the ground.

Emily was having a coffee nearby when her phone rang. It was from Eric.

  "Eric, what's up?" Emily asked.

"Emily, Derek is waiting for you in the office. Can you come over now?" Eric said.

"I've been there already. They didn't let me in. If he wants to see me, come to the café near your company," Emily said after checking the name of the café.

She hung up the phone without saying anything else. Eric had a headache. Emily asked Derek to go out to see her, and Eric did not know how to tell him. Jamila was such a troublemaker.

However, even if it was difficult, Eric had to force himself to report to Derek.

"Eric, don't say it yet. Let me guess first," Nick said as he looked at Eric.

Derek glared at Nick, and Terry pulled him.

'Didn't you see how anxious Derek was?' Terry signaled Nick with his eyes.

In the end, both Terry and Nick were chased out.

  "Alright, tell me," Derek said.

"Emily said that she had come here already. She said that you can meet her at the café," Eric felt great pressure.

He didn't expect Derek to stand up immediately. "Let's go."

Emily ordered ice cream. The sweet and cold taste made her narrow her eyes in delight.

When Derek came in, Emily was just about to take her last bite. Eric didn't follow Derek and waited for him in the car.

Derek felt sweet and delighted as if he had also enjoyed the ice cream.

Emily was startled to see Derek. She swallowed the ice cream and shivered.

Emily saw the smile in Derek's eyes.

When Derek sat opposite her, he restrained his emotions.

"No one has ever asked me to talk in a place like this," Derek said. He felt that it was a little novel.

"There is no need for Diane to take more photos," Emily said, ignoring Derek's words.

She wanted to know why Derek asked her to meet him today.

Derek rubbed his nose awkwardly. His mind was a mess, and he failed to think of a proper excuse. He wanted Diane to take some photos to attract more attention, but he forgot about it later.

At the thought of what he had to say to Emily, Derek became more serious.

"Jayden is a liar. You can't be with him." Derek suddenly said. His hands clenched under the table.

Emily was confused by his words.

"I looked into his information yesterday," Derek said uneasily.

"Why? He is my friend," Emily said a little angrily.

"We are working together now. I have to make sure that our deal won't be affected by your sudden relationship," Derek said with a cold face.

Emily put down the coffee cup with a serious expression.

"Derek, Jayden is my friend," Emily repeated.

"He is your friend, and that's why I have to investigate him. I don't want there to be any hidden dangers. Don't you think that it's tricky that he shows up at this time?" Derek's face darkened.

'Is he your friend? He has confessed to you and is about to become your boyfriend!' Derek roared in his heart.

"You are being too cautious. I didn't expect that the person in charge of the Scott family would care about such a small matter." Emily mocked. Derek's actions made her uncomfortable.

Derek pursed his lips and thought, 'Stupid woman! This is for your sake, and yet you are mocking me!'

"Jayden, a fashion designer..." Derek talked about Jayden's background. He had a good memory and could memorize everything once he read the information about Jayden.

As time went by, the more Derek said, the gloomier Emily's face became. Derek looked at Emily without blinking, and his face was also gloomy.

"He doesn't like women. And he has a boyfriend and is currently living together." This was what Derek wanted to tell Emily the most.

Emily's gloomy expression disappeared. She was a little stunned.

"You investigated him because of his joke yesterday?" Emily didn't know whether to laugh or cry when she recalled what Jayden had said yesterday.

"A joke?" Derek was also stunned.

"I know he is gay and has a boyfriend. They had a fight, so he asked me out for a meal. He just likes to joke around, and you got it wrong," Emily said helplessly.

When Derek came out of the café, he felt that the sky was clearer and the air was sweeter.

As soon as he got into the car, Eric noticed his good mood and wondered what Emily had said to Derek.

At that moment, Derek's phone rang. He picked it up immediately after checking the caller ID.

"Emma, aren't you on vacation? Why are you calling me now?" Derek felt it was strange. Emma was a kind woman, but she didn't like to be disturbed during her vacation, so he would call her at a fixed time.

"I heard that you didn't allow Rose to go to the villa anymore." Emma's voice was full of joy.

Derek knew that Emma had never liked Rose. And Rose's attitude toward Aaron and Ian dissatisfied Emma the most.

Since Rose was Aaron and Ian's mother, he would respond to Emma perfunctorily. But this time, he said, "Emma, I want to reconsider it."

Although he did not make it clear, Emma knew that he was talking about his marriage.

"What's wrong? Did you meet someone?" Emma sensed that there was something strange.

"No, not like that," Derek said seriously.

Emma knew him well and did not believe him.

"Not now. I'll tell you later," Derek said.

Emma knew that she could not get more information from Derek. As long as it was not Rose, she would be satisfied. She did not want Derek to marry Rose to make it up to Aaron and Ian.

They chatted for a while, and Emma hung up the phone with satisfaction.
