Revenge with My Quadruplets

Chapter 25

Chapter 25

Time passed quickly as they enjoyed their time. The moon appeared in the sky.

The children were excited the whole day. They were looking forward to the light show.

The light show in the amusement park was famous. Many people brought their children to watch it, so the best spots were all taken.

Derek was usually busy with work and rarely spent so much time with Aaron and Ian. So today, he would satisfy all their requirements. He met with the owner of the amusement park and booked the best seats for the show. He wanted to give Aaron and Ian the best things.

The light show was about to begin, and the people around them began to get excited.

"Daddy, I'm so happy today." Ian held Aaron's hand with one hand and tugged at Derek's clothes with the other.

"If you like the show, I'll take you here again," Derek promised.

"Really?" Ian clapped his hands happily.

"Yes. Look, the show has begun." Derek pointed at the sky.

Everyone looked up at the sky. The colored lights form straight lines, which then transform into different patterns in the air.

"That's beautiful!" Both Diane and Ian stamped their feet happily.

Chris and Aaron were also attracted by the lights. Emily looked at the dazzling lights and the happy children and felt that her life was great. At this moment, she could put away her pain and hatred and just enjoy her life.

The patterns changed and looked like fireworks now.

Emily looked at the fireworks formed by the lights. She recalled that when she was young, Bennett used to take her to watch the fireworks. He held her hand and lit the fireworks. Then, he would hold her hand and run away with her while screaming. The beautiful fireworks bloomed behind them. Bennett was worried that Emily would be scared and would cover her ears. However, he had already disappeared from Emily's life.

Tears welled up in Emily's eyes, which blurred her vision. She raised her hand to wipe away her tears.

The venue was darkened for a better view of the show. There was almost no light. At intervals during the show, the venue was pitch black, making it impossible to see one's surroundings.

"Watch out." Suddenly, a man shouted. His voice was shaking.

It was Derek's voice. Emily found it strange. Derek was a calm person. Why would he shout?

Before Emily could turn around, Derek pulled her over and extended his other hand upwards as if he was blocking something.

Emily then realized the danger. A strange man tried to stab her with a dagger but failed due to Derek's blocking. Derek's hand was cut with the dagger, and the blood dripped instantly.

The joyous atmosphere changed in an instant, and the people around them screamed. Many did not know what was happening and just ran along with the others.

The man had failed in his mission and was on the point of making his escape with the confused crowd. Then, he was surrounded by Derek's bodyguards.

The man was a good fighter, but Derek's bodyguards were well-trained, and together, they caught the man.

Derek knew that they could no longer watch the light show. It could have been a perfect day, but it was ruined by this man.

"Call the police. I want his statement before the police arrive," Derek instructed his bodyguards.

The bodyguards split into two groups. One group left with the man while the other left the amusement park with Derek, Emily, and the kids.

When they got back in the car, Emily saw the big cut on Derek's hand and pulled out the gauze from her backpack.

Because Diane had been injured once, Emily always carried first aid with her when she went out. Unexpectedly, this time, she used it on Derek.

Derek didn't want Aaron and Ian to see him injured, but Emily said, "If you leave them now, they will feel more insecure. It's a kind of comfort to them when you stay by their sides."

Derek finally agreed to let Aaron and Ian stay in the same car with him.

Emily said to the kids as she bandaged Derek's wound, "Derek is so brave. He protected us. His wound will heal soon."

Derrick's wound was bandaged. After a while, it stopped bleeding.

The panic-stricken children grew calmer under Emily's soothing words.

Derek closed his eyes and listened to Emily's gentle voice. He felt that he, too, had been comforted by her.

"I'm sorry, Daddy. It's all my fault. If I didn't ask to come to the amusement park, you wouldn't have been injured." Ian burst into tears. He looked pitiful as he sobbed.

Chris pursed his lips. He saw that the dagger was aimed at Emily. He looked at Emily worriedly.

Aaron tugged at Derek's clothes tightly. He was trembling.

Emily breathed a sigh of relief. It was good that the boys had let off steam. Otherwise, she feared the damage it would do to their young minds.

Emily raised her chin at Derek. She gestured for him to comfort Aaron and Ian. She turned around and hugged Chris and Diane to comfort them.

Emily's warm embrace made Chris and Diane relax.

"Don't cry. It has nothing to do with you. That man just happened to hurt me. I'll take you to the light show next time," Derek said. He found it difficult to comfort the children.

Perhaps it was because of Derek's comfort, or the fact that he looked so much better after the bandage, that Ian stopped crying.

They were too tired, perhaps, and the crying had used up the last of their strength. Aaron and Ian were asleep, but they still clung to Derek's clothes. When Derek tried to shake them off, they began to whimper as if about to wake up. Derek had to keep them in that position.

Realizing that the danger had passed, Chris and Diane also fell asleep in Emily's arms. Today was unforgettable for the four children because of both the happiness of the day and the horror of the night.

"Sir." A bodyguard came to the car window.

Emily recognized him. He was the bodyguard who took the strange man away.

"Be quiet, Jackson," Derek said softly. He didn't want to wake Aaron and Ian up.

"Yes, sir," Jackson said softly, "The person who stabbed you is called Kevin. He works for Joey. He doesn't know who Emily is or the person who hired him. Joey just gave Kevin a phone number and asked Kevin to call after he finished his job."

Jackson made things clear, and Derek nodded in satisfaction.

Then, Jackson handed Derek a phone.

"This is Kevin's phone. This is the number he will call after he finishes his task." Jackson bent down and handed the phone to Derek.

Derek took the phone and dialed the number.

The phone beeped, but no one answered the phone. Derek was not in a hurry and called again.

This time, when the call was about to hang up automatically, someone picked it up.

"You finally called. Have you done what I asked you to do?" A woman's voice sounded.

Derek gripped the phone tightly. He recognized the voice.

  It was her!
