Married to the heartless Billionaire

Chapter 112. ALMOST THERE

Chapter 112. ALMOST THERE

ADRIAN CASTILLO

I have been thinking of how to go about the thoughts I have in my mind. I have been restless.

The same question kept ringing in my head. "Why does Jessica have so many of my pictures and is she truly aware of Sophia's whereabouts?"

I wanted to speak to something about this but I do not trust anyone after all Sophia's life is at stake here. I needed to be logical with anything that I wanted to do for her safety.

I decided to call Jessica and ask where she was. After two rings, she answered the call.

"Hey," I said as soon as the call went through.

"Hi." She replied.

I suddenly do not know what to say anymore but I couldn't be speechless for long and so I let the words that were in my mouth roll out my tongue without thinking about it.

"Are you at home?" I asked.

"Yes. I am. Is there a problem?" She asked.

"No. Not at all. It's just I haven't seen you today. Did you go somewhere or have you been at home all day?" I asked, suddenly knowing what to say.

"Yes. I have been at my place all through. Is there a problem? Did you finally get where Sophia is?" she asked.

"No. Not at all. I am just calling because I haven't seen you, that's just it." I told her.

She lied about being at home all day when I was at her place not too long. She did not go anywhere whereas she could have just been honest if she left somewhere.

I honestly do not want to doubt her but I cannot help the suspicions that build in the pit of my stomach for her.

"Then why did you call?" She asked.

"It's about the other night. I'm sorry about how I reacted. I hope I didn't hurt your feelings." I told her, not wanting to give her any hint that I was suspicious of her.

"Oh. It's no problem," she replied.

"Are you sure that you are fine Adrian?" she asked sounding concerned.

"No. Not really but I am going to be fine." I replied to her.

"It's okay. Thanks for asking. Now that I have heard from you, I'd end the call now. I'll call you later." I told her before ending the call.

I sat down on my seat for a long time thinking about my next step. All I was doing was just trying to see if Jessica has something to do with Sophia or not and nothing more.

Later that evening, I went to a bar to get a drink. It has been a long time since I came to a place like this. I called for the attention of the Barman and ordered a shot of tequila.

I do not plan to get drunk. It wasn't the goal but I needed to act drunk for the plan I was about to execute.

I called for the attention of the barman.

"Yes sir." He answered.

"Can you do me a favor?" I asked him.

"A favor? What kind sir?" He asked sounding curious.

"I am going to call someone and act drunk and after a while, I will put down the phone. Make sure you answer the call because I won't end it and tell her that I am Here in this bar and messed up. Also, tell her that I almost got into a fight and you need her to come to get me. Can you do that?" I asked him.

"That's not a problem sir." He replied.

"Thank you," I told him before paying him for the shots and also tipping him for the job he was about to do for me soon.

I dialed Jessica's number. What I was about to do was risky but tonight I must know if she knows where my wife is and if she is behind her kidnap because it doesn't make sense at all.

"Hey." I heard her phone on the phone.

"H- hey." I slurred.

"Adri? Are you alright?" She asked almost immediately.

"Hi- you- I wan..." I slurred again, acting drunk.

"Adri? Are you alright? Why are you sounding this way?" Asked sounding anxious.

I chuckled. "Sophia. Sophia. Sophia. It hurts Jessie." I pretended to be in tears.

"Adri? I can't hear you. Did you see Sophia or what?" She asked.

"She's gone. She's... shes.... I can't. I.. it..." I put down the phone and gave the barman a signal.

He took up the phone and answered it. "Hello." He said on the phone.

The phone was actually on a loudspeaker as he wanted me to tell him what to do and say.

"Who are you?" She asked.

"I am Harris. I work at the bar this customer is at right now. He seemed pretty messed up and almost got into a fight earlier." He informed her and she gasped.

"What? A bar? Fight? Just how?" She sounded surprised.

I wasn't surprised that she reacted this way. I am not one to get into a fight so when you hear that I got into a fight, you will have to think about it from a different perspective to know why I would get into a fight and what could trigger it.

"Yes ma'am. He seemed drunk- he is drunk. It would be nice if you come to get him before he messes up," he told her and I gave him a thumbs up.

"I'm on my way now. Thanks so much and please watch him until I get there." She told him.

"Okay, ma'am." He replied before ending the call.

"Thanks," I told him and he nodded his head before walking away.

After five minutes, I put my head on the table should in case she comes, so I won't be caught off guard before lying and acting drunk.

Insight Jessica before she saw me and began to mutter words. "I miss you, Sophia. I miss you badly. It... it hurts."

"Adri? Adria?" She shook my body but that doesn't stop me from muttering.

"I... I miss you... Sophia." I muttered again.

"You are the one I spoke to on the phone right?" Harris asked Jessica for confirmation.

"Yes. Thanks for looking after him." She told him before dropping a hundred-dollar note for him on the table.

"Thanks so much." He told her.

"Come on Adrian let's go." She shook me again and I lifted my face to see her.

I smiled. "Sophia?" I shook my head with a frown on my face now.

"Go away. You are not Sophia." I muttered before lying my head back on the table.

"Just how much did you drink Adrian? This is so unlike you." She sighed.

She shook me again, trying to get me to wake up. I lifted my face once again. "Jessica? It's you. Did you find Sophia?" I asked her.

"Come on, let's go. We will talk when you get to your place." She told me but I shook my head.

"No. I do not want to. Find me, my wife. Please find my wife for me." I told her.

She doesn't look happy about it as she wasn't pretending to be worried as she would if I complained about Sophia.

"It's her again." She shook her head, urging me to get up.

"You will find your wife or not but for now let's take you home. You are not helping yourself and her by getting drunk." She told me.

She pulled me up and I stood up but staggered. She placed her arms around me making me steady. "You are big Adri so please walk properly so that we both don't fall why did you drink this much!" She complained, sounding irritated.

"I miss her," I muttered.

"I miss her that... it is hard to breathe. Do you know I can't feel... I can't feel...my... heart beating at all." I told her.

"Let's get out of here first then we will talk, okay?" She told me.

She helped me walk out of the place and into her car. "I will tell Steve to come to get your car. For now, you will be getting into my car as I cannot drive stick." She told me.

She place me at the back of her car seat, closed the door, and later entered the driver's seat and began to drive.

I continued with my act. "S. O. P. H. I. A. Sophia is a lady..." I chuckled.

"And she is my wife." I chuckled again.

"I didn't know you have it in you to act this way. She has clouded your mind and thoughts that you can barely think about anything at all." I heard her mutter. She might not have said that for me to hear but I heard her loudly.

She was giving me more reason to be suspicious. If I was sober, she would have after completely different from how she's acting now. She would have encouraged me and told me that it would be fine and I'd see her. She's also crying too but now she wasn't sounding how she would have.

"Jessie. Do you know what I want to do right now?" I asked her.

"Huh?" She asked.

"I want to go back home and hug my wife and tell her how much I love her," I told her.

"Your wife isn't at home. And stop acting this way already. You are actually... hurting me more than you already have." She whispered her last sentence but I heard her.

So she does have feelings for me. This explains why she has a lot of pictures of me in her room but I do not think it's feelings. It's an unhealthy one because why would she have photos of me unaware?

"We are here," Jessica said shortly as she opened the door for the back seat for me. I came out of the car and fell on her knowing that she would catch me. I didn't want to give her any reason to suspect me.

She needed to think that I was still drunk.

"Fuck! I could have fallen but since it's you it's no problem. It's nice having you this close." She muttered.

I pulled back from her and smiled at her. "You look very beautiful tonight," I told her.

It was all part of my plan. I needed to make her confess and I needed to know if she has something to do with Sophia. I didn't need her to tell me that Sophia was with her but her reaction by the end of today would give me the reply that I needed.

A smile formed on her face when I said that. "You think I am?" She asked and I nodded my head.

"You are but you are not Sophia," I told her and she frowned immediately.

She didn't say anything to me but I know that she was dying to say something to me. With the help of my maids. They brought me to my room and she went into my bathroom to get something.

She came back with a towel. "Let's get rid of your clothes. Your shoes and then put you to bed." She said,

She bent down to help me get rid of my shoes. While she was about to get rid of my shirt, I held her on her wrist.

"You are so beautiful. You look very different right now. Are you sure you are Jessica, my friend?" I asked her.

She stared at me for a while as I kept mine and continued to stare at her as if I was drunk and sleepy.

She pulled her wrist from my hold. "Stop it." She said, sounding angry.

"I have always been beautiful but you won't see that because of that stupid girl of yours." She spat.

This is the first time I am seeing her like this.

"Why won't you just forget her and look at me, Adrian? I am better than her. I have always been the one for you but you got married to that girl!" She seethes.

I didn't know she has this just dislike for my wife. So all the while she acted concerned, it was all fake. Wow! I didn't expect any of this at all.

He came closer to me. "Look at me, Adrian? Am I not good enough?" she spoke lovely, cupping my face with her hand.

"I have always loved you. Right from where we were kids. You loved me too but then you moved on. I know that I wasn't there for you but you shouldn't have gotten married. You hurt me. You hurt me and that's why I didn't like her." Tears filled her eyes.

"What are you... saying? I can't... understand." I said acting drunk and as if I didn't know what she was talking about.

It was all to keep her going. To make her continue to talk and give me the final piece that I needed.

"How can you not understand Adrian? I am supposed to be your wife and not her and even when she's gone, you can't accept it and just look at me and love me more than you should ever love her!" She spat out.

"Look at me. Am I not beautiful? I'm taller than her. I might not be as busty as she is but I also have an hourglass shape too!" She compared and I felt the urge to laugh but I didn't.

It wasn't about the physical appearance and I'm sure she doesn't know that.

"Are you saying you know where Sophia is?" I asked, sounding frantic.

She pushed me. "Fuck you! Are you even listening to me at all because you are talking about something else entirely?" She spat.

"You won't ever have Sophia. Unless you love me as you should then forget about seeing her because I will make sure that you never have her back." She said almost in a whisper as she clenched her fist.

She sighed and came closer to me, sitting on me so that she could straddle me.

She placed my hand on her boobs and I took it away. "What are you doing?" I asked her.

"Touch it! You can have me. Do anything you want with me and I will allow it. Just please look at me and forget her." She pleased before kissing me on my lips.

I pushed her off and she fell to the floor, looking at me with a shocker and pained expression on her face.

"You are not Sophia and I can never look at another woman the way I look at her," I told her before closing my eyes and acting as if I was sleeping.

"Fuck you, Adrian. I will make sure that you never find Sophia." She said before getting up from the floor and leaving.

I quickly got up from where I was seated to go follow her. Something was telling me that she might lead to where Sophia is.

I took out my phone and texted Detective Decker.

To Detective Decker: you have a tracker on my car right? Follow me t my direction now.

I put my phone on my pant pocket before going after her, making sure to keep a distance so she doesn't know.
