Married to the heartless Billionaire

Chapter 75. JESSICA

Chapter 75. JESSICA

SOPHIA CASTILLO

"Sophia, there is someone I want to introduce you to," Adrian whispered in my ears.

"Who?" I asked, tilting my head to look at his face.

He was on the podium some minutes ago talking and appreciating everyone for coming. I had not realized when he came behind me but when I heard his voice, I knew it was him and his powerful cologne filled my nose, melting my insides.

"Sophia meet Justine, he is a coursemate of mine back in Harvard," Adrian introduced and I smiled politely at the man named Justin.

"Justin, my wife Sophia," he introduced.

"It's nice to finally meet you," Justin said, kissing the back of my palm.

"I've seen pictures of you but I must say you are more beautiful in person than seen in the media," he compliments and I blushed.

"Thanks for your compliment," I replied.

The agenda of the event took place and in no time, they concluded the event after telling the cause of the event and were able to get donations.

I turned my head around and the sight of a tall slender woman captivated me. She was dressed in a red long gown that sit to her top thighs and her gladiator heels could be seen. Because of her hat, I was yet to see her face and I doubted if I'd be able to recognize her or know her even if I saw her face because I didn't know many people.

She kept coming toward my table and I noticed that all eyes were on her. Of course, she was really attractive and I too was looking so it was inevitable for others not to look.

The closer she came, the closer I saw her facial features although I was yet to see her full face. I could tell she wanted the attention because her bright rose lips were shining even from afar and anyone would keep looking.

She stopped at our table and I glanced at Adrian, he seemed like he recognized her.

"Adrian," she called and for an unknown reason, I didn't feel comfortable anymore. Who is she and what business does she have with my husband?

"Jessie?" He called I'm q questioning manner and she took off her heart, showing her face with a smile on her face.

"Long time no see," she said as her long blonde hair fell over her shoulder.

"Jessie. Long time no see," he said.

I watched as they both conversed while so many thoughts ran in my head. It seems they've known each other for a long time but what baffled me was that Adrian admitted to having no friends after the death of his parents so what's happening now.

I watched as they both conversed with one another after Adrian had pulled back a seat for her to sit like the gentleman that he was.

All eyes were on our table and I felt so uncomfortable and a little angry for a reason I shouldn't be.

"Pardon me, Jessie, meet the owner of my heart Sophia. She's my wife," he introduced and I noticed how her facial expression changed the minute he said so.

"Pardon me, you are married?" She sounded surprised.

I mean the whole universe knows we are married or maybe I am exaggerating but yes I am his wife and how come she doesn't know that. She must be pretending to be shocked then.

"Yes," he answered.

"Wow. So you are married? And I didn't get an invite? I am quite disappointed. Why wasn't I told? When did you get married and how come no one from my family was invited?" She asked.

"Can we talk about that later?" He told her.

"Sophia this is Jessica, the lady I told you about last night," he said and I recalled our conversation last night.

So she is the one that will come live with us until she got an apartment for herself. I wasn't expecting her to look this way but I wasn't expecting worse either it was the first time I felt so insecure and I hated myself for feeling this way.

I was never insecure. I was bothered about others' looks or what they wore and Adrian told me Jessica and not Jessie and I didn't like that he was calling her by a nickname.

"Nice to meet you," I told her, stretching my hands for a handshake but I felt she didn't like me as she hesitated before shaking my hands.

"It's nice to meet you too," she told me but her smile didn't reach her eyes. I ignored them and clung to Adrian's arms.

He continued his conversation with her and Adrian tried to get me involved but each time Jessica has a way of interrupting and not making me speak and so I spoke to Justin instead.

"Jessica didn't come with a personal ride and so she will be riding with us, is that okay baby?" Adrian asked me and I nodded my head.

"Of course. She's going to our place after all," I told him.

I love how Adrian respected me to get me involved and even if he didn't need my permission, he still made sure to let me know.

The chauffeur opened the back seat for Adrian and me to enter and opened the front seat for Jessica.

"Sophia, you seem pretty young. How old are you?" Jessica asked as the drive began to drive.

"I am twenty years old," I answered and she gasped.

"Twenty years old? Wow, that's just two decades, and you are married at this age? How in love were you to decide that you are ready to spend the rest of your life with Adri," she said and the skin between my brows creased at the nickname she called Adrian with.

It made me cringe and I didn't like it.

"Well it's a lot more than that," I told her curtly not wanting to talk to her about how Adrian and I came to be.

"I'm quite surprised Adri. I didn't expect you to her marriage to a woman you are almost a decades older. How did it happen? Where did you guys first meet? I'm so excited to hear them all," she said and I could tell that she was forcing excitement into her tone.

"Trust me when I tell you it's quite complicated and stop making it seem like I'm old. My sweetheart will be twenty-one in two months and I'd turn twenty-nine next year which means I'm barely older than her by eight-year. I'm older than her by seven years and I do not see a problem with it. Many people get married to someone a decade and half older than them but age is just a number and love is what matters at first," Adrian expatriate.

"Wow. That is true. I'm just surprised. I mean she's quite young and she decides that she wants to get married and live with you. It's admirable. If I saw someone like that when I was younger then maybe I'd be married too. How long have you guys been married?" She asked.

"Almost a year, two months after I turn twenty-one, we will be a year," I answered.

"Wow. So where did you guys meet I'm angry with you Adrian. You didn't invite me. We've known each other all our lives and I cannot believe you didn't invite me," she clicked her tongue.

"It wasn't a planned marriage. Trust me when I tell you that it is complicated. You must keep in mind though that we both lost contact with one another and haven't heard from each other for a very long time now," Adrian replied.

"That's true but my father kept in touch with your grandfather. At least he could have told my father and my father would tell me but it's fine. You will have to make it up to me and that's period," she said firmly and Adrian chuckled.

"Sure. I will make it up to you. That's a must," I told him.

"So Sophia, do you still go to school or you are a full-time housewife?" She asked and for some reason, I felt she was trying to irk me.

I took in a deep breath and exhaled. "Yes. I do go to school and I do not plan on becoming a full housewife and my darling is willing to support me, won't you baby?" I said, staring at Adrian's eyes while batting my lashes.

"Sure my love. I am in full support of anything you want to do in this life. I have got you covered," he said before placing a small kiss on my cheek.

"I look forward to the day I find my princess charming because looking at the both of you through the mirror is only making me jealous. I would appreciate it if you both refrain from any public display of affection because not everyone can't endure it," she said and while Adrian chuckled, I rolled my eyes.

Something just doesn't sit well with me when it comes to her.
