CEO Stepbrother's Surprise Baby

Chapter 64 - epilogue

Chapter 64 - epilogue

Natalie

Half a year has passed since I married Noah Parker.

We are happy together, but... I wish he would step down from his career and be home with me for some time.

Noah presses a kiss to my lips every morning and says, "Good morning, beautiful," and leaves to start his day. We barely see each other except on holidays or some weekends.

Don't get me wrong, Noah always goes the extra mile to make me feel loved and appreciated. There are endless flowers, gifts, beautiful text messages, and phone calls to keep me happy. But we spend more days apart than together, and it hurts me sometimes...

So naturally, I want that to change.

But I'm afraid to ask Noah to put his family before his football life. What if he gets mad at me? He probably won't, and if I tell him why I want him to stay home, he will probably do it.

I'm just nervous.

Noah walks into the living room. I'm sitting on the couch, and he tilts his head at me with a brief smile. "What are you thinking about?"

Okay, here goes nothing.

"Can I ask you something?"

He takes a seat next to me, grabbing my hand to bring it to his lap. He squeezes it and focuses those kind eyes on mine. It almost brings me to tears because I love him so much.

"What do you want to ask me?" Noah asks, furrowing his eyebrows in concern when he notices me blinking back tears. "Natalie, is everything okay? You're crying..."

I meet his eyes with a trembling smile, whispering. "I'm pregnant."

He blinks, and then amazement washes over his features. Happiness is mirrored in his eyes, and his smile comes in stronger. He looks gorgeous and so ready to become a dad again.

"Really?" Noah asks. "Why haven't you said something?"

I dry my eyes on the back of my fingers, smiling still. "I haven't found the perfect opportunity. You're always busy, and..."

Understanding hits his features. "Do you want me to step down from my football career?"

I swallow thickly. I'm so afraid to ask Noah to step down because... I want him to be happy. "I can't ask that of you."

"Why not?"

"Because your happiness is the most important."

"But I would be happy to step down," Noah squeezes my hand again. My heart is fluttering with happiness. Especially when he gazes deeply into my eyes with that melting smile. "Nothing is more important than family, and I can't leave my uncle to handle the company forever. He has been asking me for more help."

I keep the contact with his eyes. "But I want you to be home when the babies arrive."

"Of course, I would be home when—" Noah pauses, staring at me. What I said is finally dawning on him. "Wait, did you just say 'babies' in plural? Not a baby, but babies?"

I can't contain my eager smile. "We are going to have triplets."

Noah blinks, and then he laughs before pressing a kiss against my forehead. He smiles against my skin after that, holding me close to his warm, chiseled body.

His suit smells like cologne, and I inhale it like a woman deprived of air and tighten my hold of my husband. My chest is filled with butterflies. I'm so damn happy I'm close to tears again.

We hold each other for a long moment.

Eventually, Noah speaks. "Triplets?"

I press my head further into his suit, rubbing against him. He smells so good his fragrance could be bottled up and sold. "Uh-huh. We are going to have triplets. Three babies. Three little ones."

"That's crazy."

"We will have to hire someone," I chuckle softly. "But you're right. It's crazy—we will suddenly have so many kids."

"I can't wait to meet them..." Noah runs his fingers through my hair and then lets his hand fall to my back. "Triplets sounds like many sleepless nights, but also like a bunch of fun."

"We will be tired for years to come."

Noah snorts in amusement. "Yes, but I plan on training them all to become professional football players, especially now that we will soon have a team of little Parkers."

I shake my head at him and laugh. "Little Parkers... You're funny. But you're also absolutely right—I'm buying tiny t-shirts with numbers on them for all three of our boys."

"Boys, huh?" Noah chuckles. "Emma won't be happy suddenly having three younger, annoying brothers."

"Meh," I smile. "Emma will love her brothers... Possibly try to kill them at times, but deep inside love them."

"Probably."

Noah stands up from the couch and wraps his arms around my waist, locking me in his embrace.

It doesn't seem to matter to him that I'm not exactly lightweight. He picks me up, and I place my arms around his thick neck before meeting his gorgeous eyes.

"I'm taking you upstairs," Noah speaks in a husky voice. "Since we won't get much alone time in the future, I better give you everything I have and then more today."

I bite back laughter. "We won't be leaving the mansion today?"

"Nope."

"Good answer," I peer into his eyes. "Because all I want to do today is spend every minute with you. But first... Put me down."

He lifts an eyebrow but places me down on the floor.

Since I imagine myself already starting to get heavy, I intend to walk up the stairs independently. But before I can make a dash for the stairs, Noah sees through my plan.

"Not on my watch!" I laugh in surprise when Noah lifts me up and places me on his shoulders. He grunts at me. "Don't try to be difficult, Natalie. You're getting carried up the stairs, and then you're getting raped in our bed. Properly and thoroughly."

I burst out laughing. "Raped? And what about the babies! You can't carry me like this!"

Noah doesn't listen.

He is already walking forward, and my hands wind up in his dark hair. There is something incredibly sexy with being with a man who can just toss you onto his shoulders and walk away like it's nothing.

I'm already wet.

I suck in a deep breath, and Noah mutters words. "Please, we both know you've hardly been pregnant for that long. And riding on someone's shoulders won't damage our babies. This will be better for you."

"But you can't keep carrying me," I tell him while feeling his soft hair. Once we are in bed, I plan on tackling this man down to the ground. Noah is too sexy for his own good. "It won't be good for your back."

Noah answers me by laughing darkly. He takes me to our bedroom upstairs and then helps me down onto the mattress. I barely have time to blink before he is ripping off his clothes.

The view is spectacular.

I will never tire from seeing his tanned skin, the abs in his stomach—I'm one hell of a lucky woman.

"I've been waiting for this moment all week," Noah's eyes are filled with lust and desire. "There is no getting away from me."

"You think I would run?"

His lips curve into a dangerous smile, and soon he covers my body with his bigger, heavier one. "No, but... It's hard to tell what you will do next. You keep surprising me at every turn Natalie Parker, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I love you."

I wrap my arms around his neck, pulling him down for a kiss. But once our lips are only inches apart, I say. "I love you too."

The End
