WHO IS IT?
Antonio simply followed Courtney's lead as she guided him to his room. It has your stuffed animals and favorite action figures. Antonio muttered thanks and his eyes went down to the phone in his hand. He was still dialing the number that called him. He cares a lot about Hinata. Courtney sighed and forced a smile. “Alright then, good night”. Once Courtney had settled into her own room, she took a shower and changed into her pajamas. Resting on her bed, she had to inform Angela that they had arrived safely. She pulled out her phone and dialed Angela’s number. It rang twice before Angela picked up, her voice cracked with worry. “Courtney? Did you get there safely? How’s Antonio?” Courtney sat up on the bed, glancing around the room. “We’re home and safe. The security was tight at the airport, and he’s in his room now. Yes, he’s… safe. Stop worrying too much, Angela” she answered softly. Angela let out a sigh of relief, but her anxiety was still kicking hard. “And how is he? Does he react to the change of environment?” Angela asked curiously. Courtney hesitated, her mind flashing back to Antonio’s tears at the portrait of their grandmother. “For now, I think he’s… confused. He doesn’t remember much, but there’s something there. He was crying earlier when he saw the portrait of Grandma, but he insists he doesn’t know why.” Angela’s heart skipped a beat at that statement. “He cried? That has to mean something, right? Maybe his memory is starting to come back.” She asked impatiently. Courtney sighed again. “I don’t know, Angela. He’s still saying he doesn’t remember, and he seems focused on saving Hinata more than anything else. He’s really determined to confront Damon. I am sorry…he cares a lot about that Japanese girlfriend”. Angela was silent for a moment, clearly struggling with her emotions. “Courtney, I don’t want him to get hurt, that's all. You don't have to be sorry if he chooses her over me. Damon’s dangerous, and if Antonio goes back to face him being this innocent and clueless about the Mafia's world, he could end up in real danger.” “I know, I’ve been trying to warn him, to see if he can change his mind” Courtney replied, lowering her voice. “But he’s made up his mind. He’s not thinking clearly right now. I’ll do everything possible to keep him safe, though. I promised you. The media already broadcasted his return to the states. He is in a deep risk at the moment. I just hope things go well.” She paused and sobbed. “I want my family back, Angela, and I am afraid that Damon will take him away from me. He is the only one I have”. Angela's heart went heavy hearing her cry. “I know your pain, Courtney. I'm…. I’m also scared. I don’t know what I’ll do if something happens to him. Let's be positive. Please keep an eye on him. Don’t let him fall into Damon’s hands. ” “I won’t let that happen, Angela,” Courtney reassured her, her voice now steady. “I’ve already got extra security in place, and a good plan. I’ll stay with him as much as I can. He’s not going to face that devil alone.” Angela paused, her voice cracking from sobbing. “Courtney, do you think…? Do you think he’ll ever remember us? Remember me?” Courtney’s heart ached, hearing the pain in Angela’s voice. She glanced at the door of her room, imagining Antonio just down the hall. “I don’t know, Angela. But don't give up, please for Junior's sake. Never take his rejection seriously until he remembers us.” Angela took a deep breath. “Okay… Just… promise me you’ll call if anything changes. And tell him… tell him I’m thinking of him.” “I will,” Courtney promised. “Stay safe, Angela. I’ll keep you updated.” They said their goodbyes, and as Courtney ended the call, she stared at her phone for a moment, her mind heavy with the weight of everything. The stakes were higher than ever, and she knew she had to be ready for whatever came next. She is the only one who can help Antonio to win against Damon. **** Angela and Kerry moved hurriedly around the small apartment, packing their things into the luggage. The room was filled with tension as they were in a rush to leave Japan. Clothes were tossed into bags with little care for order, and the sounds of zippers closing echoed through the room. “We have to be quick,” Angela muttered, her voice shaky. She could barely focus. Her mind kept drifting back to Antonio and what Courtney had told her over the phone. Now that Damon knew Antonio was alive, Hinata had been kidnapped in Japan. Japan is no longer safe, especially for little Antonio Junior. Kerry paused, looking at her sister with concern. “Do you really think leaving tonight is the best option? What if they’re already watching us?” She whispered as if the walls could hear them. Angela clenched her fists, trying to calm the storm inside her. “We don’t have a choice. Damon is dangerous. And if his men are in Japan, we can’t stay here. Not with Junior, not with the twins.” Kerry bit her lip and nodded, She bent down to close her luggage just as a loud, violent knock reverberated through the apartment. Both women froze. The knocking continued, louder and more aggressive. Angela’s heart jumped into her throat. She looked at Kerry, who was now standing completely still, wide-eyed. “Who… who could that be, at this hour?” Kerry whispered, her voice barely audible.
