The twins and Jace walked down the beach-side hallway of the resort, their footsteps echoing in the quiet corridor. The late afternoon sun filtered in through the windows, casting a golden glow on the polished floors. “I am supposed to be enjoying my weekend vacation..but here we are”. Jace groaned with a hand over his face in frustration. “You just want to smile at that tall pretty lady all day!” Lia snapped. “I wasn't smiling! Who said I was smiling?” Jace defended nervously. “She's a lot older than you…she can't be your girlfriend, move on”. Liya bluntly contributed. “You two…don't talk about things like that..you are too young..and by the way why are you dragging me to help you? I am sure Antonio had more important things to do than attend to your childish wants!” Jace pointed out. “Prince Charming isn't like that,he might be cold sometimes but he does enjoy our company”. Lia replied with boldness. Jace rolled his eyes. “I’d love to hear that from the horse's mouth”. “You are the only one we got,we don't know where Angela is either”. Liya sobbed. Lia, seeing her sister in tears, breaks down too. Jace stopped with a sigh and squatted in front of the emotional twins. “Come on now,it's not a reason to cry,I am sure the two might be together doing their business, we will find them, okay?” Liya nodded and sniffed. Lia was still sobbing. “Come on Lia, look Liya is not crying anymore,we will find Angela”. Jace consoled her. She nodded and held her twin's hand. Jace straightens up. “Let's go”. He took their hands and they continued their search. After searching the resort for a while, they decided to ask one of the friendly resort staff for help. "Have you seen our uncle and aunt?" one of the twins asked, her voice full of concern. The staff member nodded, a knowing smile on her face. "I saw the young master and lady Angela go into the young master’s private suite about an hour ago," she said. "But they looked like they needed some alone time." The twins exchanged glances. "Thanks," Jace said,then gave the twins the ‘’I told you so' look. The three turned towards the given direction. After a few minutes of silent walking, Jace coughed. "They need alone time, huh?" Jace said, raising an eyebrow."I wonder what kind of 'alone time' they're talking about." The twins giggled, their eyes sparkling with mischief. "They're probably doing gross old people stuff, " Liya added, wrinkling her nose in mock disgust. Jace laughed, shaking his head. "Come on, let's go find them," he said, leading the twins down the hallway towards Antonio's suite. "Are you sure this is the right way?" Lia asked, a note of skepticism in her voice. "This place is like a maze but that aunty said they went this way,"Liya replied, her eyes scanning the hallway for any sign of their aunt and uncle. They followed the hallway until they came to a set of double doors, embossed with the Montero's logo. Jace opened one of the doors cautiously, peering inside. No securities detected that's new. "This looks like Antonio's private suite,she told us about," he whispered, glancing over his shoulder at the twins. The twins nodded, and Jace pushed the door open wider, revealing a spacious, luxurious suite. The room was decorated in neutral tones, with plush furniture and floor-to-ceiling windows that looked out over the beach. "Mr Antonio?" Jace called out, his voice echoing in the empty room. They walked in slowly and found them. “Angela!” The twins shouted running happily towards her while Jace paused at the spot and watched in amazement as Angela shushed them,a finger on her lips and a protective hand resting on Antonio's chest. The twins froze then slowly and carefully they walked quietly to Angela and pecked her cheek. Antonio was resting on Angela's lap, his eyes closed and his breathing steady. The twins couldn't help but giggle as they whispered to each other. "Look at him," one of them whispered, her voice filled with awe. "He looks like a baby!" “That's not so cool Mr charming but so cute”. Lia giggled. "Shhh," Angela said, her eyes flashing with concern. "He's had a tough day. Please let him rest." Jace couldn't resist teasing his brother-in-law. "Wow, Mr Antonio Montero," Jace said, a smirk playing on his lips. "You really know how to play the part of the damsel in distress." Antonio opened one eye, a scowl forming on his face. "Shut up, Jace," he said, his voice hoarse from exhaustion. "If you say a word about this to anyone, I'll ban you from the next family vacation." The twins burst into laughter, their eyes shining with mischief. “You are in huge trouble, Jace,"Lia laughed. Angela was surprised at his outburst for a minute then tried not to laugh too,she simply smiled at him. Jace pouted then he suddenly smirked, noticing the shift in Angela and Antonio's relationship, decided to approach Antonio with his questions. "So, what's going on with you two, Angela?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. “Huh?” Angela replied confused. "It's not like you two were exactly lovey-dovey on the way here. And suddenly you two are like this,what did I miss”. Angela shifted slightly in her seat, as if uncomfortable with the question,her cheeks stained as the flash of the scene before came to her mind. "It's…it’s… complicated," he said, his voice low. "We've been through a lot lately." "Complicated, huh?" Jace said, folding his arms across his chest. "Look," Angela said, her tone becoming more serious. "Antonio and I have had our couple issues, but we've worked things out like couples do. We both realize that we've made mistakes, and we're trying to do better for each other,so please no more questions,he needs to rest okay?" Jace considered Anglea's words for a moment, then nodded slowly. "I can respect that," he said. "I just want you both to be happy, you know?" Anglea smiled softly at him. "I know," he said. "And I appreciate that and also we have some news," Angela began, her voice trembling slightly. The twins and Jace paid attention. "Antonio and I have decided that we will return home early tomorrow morning." The twins, wide-eyed and confused, looked at their aunt with disbelief. "But why? It's only Saturday,we are supposed to leave on Monday!" They snapped in unison. Angela answered softly. "I know babies,but there are some things that we need to take care of back home. But don't worry. We'll come back to visit the resort,okay?" The twins were not convinced and were about to protest when Jace interrupted. [ "Wait a minute," Jace said, raising his eyebrows. “Are we all going back home or just you and Mr Antonio?” “We are all going back home Jace”. Jace slapped his forehead. “Poor Jace, you are not going to see your old girlfriend again”. Lia snapped. Jace instantly put his hands off his face,eyes snapped open. “Old girlfriend?” Angela raised a brow and turned to Jace with curiosity. Antonio paid attention but with his eyes closed still. “Don't call her old and she is not my girlfriend!” Jace snapped back at Lia, his cheeks stained. Angela realized what was going on and shook her head. She remembered Edna. “I see…you have all the time now to say goodbye to your crush”. “She is not my crush! Can you all stop already!” Jace snapped in frustration and left the room. Angela shook her head, smiling. “He is really annoyed”. “Are we all really leaving? But we like it here!" one of the twins exclaimed, pouting. "It's not fair!" The twins asked. Angela nodded. "I'm sorry, but we need to stick together as a family. We can't leave you here without us but don't worry. We'll plan another trip soon, and we'll make sure it's even better than this one." The twins still looked sad, but they seemed to accept their Aunt’s explanation.
