EMERGENCY ROOM
EMERGENCY ROOM
Angela was laying on the bed, the covers pulled up to her chin. The Montero's emergency room, well equipped and expensive. The room was quiet. Montero's family doctor stood at the foot of the bed, reading her blood pressure and pulse, his brow furrowed in concentration. He looked up at Antonio, who sat at the far end, his legs crossed and a hand pressed over his forehead in deep thought. He has been like that for hours now, the wondered if he was really worried about his bride. “Sir..” He opened his eyes and looked at the doctor, his brows arched. “What the fuck happened to her?” The doctor sighed and put her hand down slowly. “She’s suffering from extreme stress and severe exhaustion. So she fainted due to stress. For someone in this state, rest is crucial”. The doctor answered, his voice grave. “What nonsense, she has everything she could ever want, I mean she's engaged to me. What more could a woman ever wish for?" Antonio replied carelessly. The lack of interest in his voice was clearly expected. The doctor shook his head lightly. “It’s possible sir. Material things aren't everything to some people. There are other things that can cause stress, like relationships, family issues, or other mental health problems.” Antonio frowned. “....Also she suffers from malnutrition”. The doctor added. “Malnutrition? She is a teacher, how can she be suffering from such, in this time and age..?” He raised a thick dark brow. “A teacher doesn't mean she can't suffer from such, it's still very possible if you looked at the background. We can try to get her to eat more, but the emotional stress is the bigger issue. I will run some tests needed to figure out what's causing it, and how to help her deal with it. Sir I kindly advise you to ensure she feeds well and not starving herself." Antonio's expression became even more serious. “Whatever”. The doctor sighed. “And also sir….” The doctor hesitated. Antonio gave him a skeptical look. “What is that, spit it out”. “Please…….sir….in whatever you two are doing I will advise you to be a bit gentler, unless you don’t really care about your image”. His voice, low. Antonio’s eyes widened and glinted evilly. “What do you say?” The doctor swallowed convulsively blaming himself for not holding back on that. “Sir, to help her emotionally I suggest you do it more gently, more foreplay and gentle kisses, she may not be as strong as the last victim I treated. I am sure she knows what she’s signed up for as a bride, knowing your taste is a bit rough but sir…she’s pretty fragile. Her constitution is just too weak to handle all that, if you keep going at her like that, it might end up in the news headlines”. A chair fell violently on the ground and in a split, the doctor was lifted off the ground, two strong hands clenched on his collar. “What is that supposed to mean! You’ve been running your mouth about those bitches I asked you to take care of, huh? You little piece of shit!” His dark eyes staring into the doctor’s soul. “No…no sir.. I swear with my life, it was only an advice because I care. She is not emotionally strong, I didn’t mean to upset you sir”. The doctor pleaded, fighting for his life. Emergency sweat beads summoned on the doctor's forehead and his body trembled. “Well you did, do your job and get the hell out of here!” “Yes…yes. Sir “. Antonio dropped him like a heap of ice and returned back to his seat. The doctor held on to the bed for support then after he stood to his feet, he adjusted his spectacles nervously and walked into the pharmacy room to get some drugs. Few minutes later he returned, Antonio was even in a fouler mood than he was when the doctor left for the pharmacy. “She …will ..have to take those”. He put them on the table next to Angela, his hand shaking, then he left the emergency care room, leaping as if his hip joint was dislocated. That drop down must have hurt a lot. An hour later…. Angela's eyes fluttered open, and she looked around the room in confusion. She was surprised to see Antonio sitting at the foot of her bed, watching her intently like some vampire king judging his subject in one of those Wattpad stories. "Finally, the sleeping beauty awakens!" Antonio sneered, a sly smile on his face, his head tilted. Angela looked around in confusion, unsure if she's in a hospital or not. "Welcome back to the land of the living." He announced, got up from the chair and made to approach her. Angela's mouth went dry. "Where am I? How long was I out?" she muttered, looking around the strange room. "In the emergency room. Only a few hours," Antonio said and then he stopped and sighed with a two finger pressed hard on just above his eyes. “I can't believe I answered her, throwing questions like that…(he looked up at her, his eyes darkened) And guess what? I didn’t even put it in, what are you, ten? Next time you leave me hanging I will… have to do it anyway.” “Help!” Antonio’s eyes widened at the unexpected outburst. He was sincerely confused. “What the fuck, is she doing?” He muttered to himself speechless. “Please somebody! Help!” Angela yelled at the top of her voice. “Has she finally lost it?” He gasped in shock. “Take me away from this maniac please!” He rushed and grabbed her arm. “Shut up will you!” “Get your dirty hands off me”. Angela cried struggling to get away from the tight grip on her arm. “I can see, you don’t fear me, I think you need a real reason to”. His smile was as fake as ever, making it more terrifying. “Kill me if you want to, but even fear won't make me stay! Go find another bride Mr. Antonio, I am done for real”.
