Chapter 105

“That fucking bastard!” I snarl out, throwing my phone against the wall. Anger fills me as I think about how Devlyn, a trusted Warrior, betrayed me because the blood pact that I forced upon him was fulfilled. That snake used this opportunity to escape Pine Moon right from under my nose and I gave him the fucking opportunity to be able to do so.

“Darling?” The door to my office opens and Tanya comes rushing inside, her concern for me clear for all to see. Her appearance settles me slightly as I look at the slight bump growing on her stomach and I know that I cannot let my rage take over and accidentally hurt her and the heir growing in her womb in the process. As angry as I am with that snake Devlyn, I cannot take my anger out on my pregnant-soon-to-be-mate.

“I heard you snarling, are you okay?” She asks, coming to my side and pressing her hand to my cheek. I reach out, wrapping an arm around her waist, and pull Tanya towards me. I take a deep breath, breathing in Tanya’s scent, and focus on calming down further.

“I just received both good and bad news.” I answer, a growl slipping through my lips.

“It seems my elder sister went and became an Alpha and that bitch of a she-wolf Brynlee is her Beta.” My words become snarls as the anger at this news rises inside me once again. My sister, the firstborn of our parents, had always been my mother’s favorite. She was raised to be an Alpha’s Mate one day and was taught how to run a Pack as soon as my mother could train her. Pine Moon would have been her’s and Gale’s if I hadn’t been born and my mother made sure I knew this fact the moment my father started training me as his heir.

Growing up, Asteria was the one the Pack went to for clarity whether it be when a new project happened in the Pack or if there was a need to settle a dispute. She was the wolf everyone believed would become the next Alpha of Pine Moon until I was made Alpha. That’s when I gained all the power I needed to keep Asteria under my control as my sister had not found her Mate by that time. I had her under strict surveillance, punishing her and any wolf that went to her with concerns about the Pack while I led Pine Moon. I even had her whipped until she was a breath away from death when she overstepped her boundaries and argued with me about going to war with a smaller Pack just on the other side of our border. She was left to recuperate in the Pack Infirmary while I went and attacked that Pack, integrating it into Pine Moon after easily defeating and destroying the Alpha and his family.

Then she met Gale and everything changed. She became bolder, still fighting me on how to run Pine Moon but I could no longer torture her the way I had in the past. Gale made sure I learned my lesson the only time he caught me bending Asteria to my will with an Alpha command and allowing my friends to beat her to their heart’s content. Gale destroyed my friends, crippling them to the point they were left bedridden and I was reminded that if they wanted to, Asteria and Gale would take Pine Moon from me. The only reason why they hadn’t over the years was because Asteria was respecting our parents’ decisions in making me the Alpha.

To know that Asteria is the thorn in my side that kept that wretched pack Golden Fang from falling and even turned it into a strong Pack that has made its mark in just a few short months. Hell, it continues to grow every day while Pine Moon slowly becomes weaker. And Brynlee, that little whore should have been killed over a year ago when I planned that attack with the Rogues. Yet here she is with my son, playing happy family under my sister’s guidance. If I don’t kill them, then Pine Moon is at risk of falling into Rune’s hands and I cannot allow that waste of space son of mine to take what I deserve.

“Does that mean Rune is there too?” Tanya asks, pressing closer to me and clinging to my dress shirt. For a moment my anger subsides as I look at the helpless she-wolf in my arms. She is so delicate and fragile right now with her pregnancy still in its early stages and my sister and her kin now pose a threat to Tanya and our unborn pup.

“Everyone is there.” I practically shout in frustration, guilt creeping in when Tanya flinches.

“Rune, Jett, Gale, and Caspian are all there along with Asteria and Brynlee, but that’s all Devlyn told me before he told me to go fuck myself.” I confirm a little calmer.

“So what do we do now?” She asks, her body shaking as she buries her face into the crook of my neck. My poor Tanya shouldn’t be enduring the stress this situation seems to be causing. She should be relaxing and focusing on growing our heir.

“We, my dear, will do nothing.” I say, running my hand up and down her back, hoping to calm both her and me with this action.

“I will prepare the men for war while you focus on your pregnancy and prepare to be marked.” I continue. Tanya pulls away from me for a moment, a look of shock on her face as she stares into my eyes.

“What do you mean by prepared to be marked?” Her voice wavers and I smirk. It seems this little girl did not expect this outcome.

“My Pack needs a Luna, and since you are carrying my pup, I will be initiating you as the Luna of Pine Moon tomorrow night during the full moon.” Watching her eyes widen at my words and perky mouth part, I find my anger dissipating as lust takes over. Goddess Tanya is so tempting. It’s been so long since I fucked that tight cunt of hers.

“But what about the pup?” She asks, her hands moving to cradle her growing baby bump.

“The doctor already confirmed that we can perform the Mating ritual. Marking you will help our Pup to grow stronger inside you.” I inform Tanya. A few days ago I had discussed with the Pack doctor about Mating and Marking Tanya. I was told that if the pup was mine, Mating her would not harm the pup in the slightest. Not only that but marking the mother of my pup would also strengthen me further and with a war to prepare for, I could use the boost in strength.

Acceptance flashes through her eyes and a grin spreads across my face. Tomorrow night I will sink my fangs into her little neck and make Tanya mine for the rest of our lives. I will relish in her young twenty-year-old body after abstaining from sex for so long and I will show Tanya that I am her one and only Mate.

After I have secured my future pup’s spot as my heir, I will prepare to go to war with Crescent Phoenix and deal with the good-for-nothing son of mine Rune, and my contemptible sister Asteria. I will destroy the Pack she grew in the last few months before Asteria’s very eyes before executing those my sister holds dear to her.
